Robert H. Dillhoff
Robert H. Dillhoff, 61, of Hamilton, died at
the Grandview Hospital of Dayton, Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998. He was born
in Cincinnati, Aug. 5, 1936. He was a service representative manager for
the Pitman Printing for the past 12 years and also was owner of the Dillhoff
Graphic Service and did farming throughout the years.Mass of Christian
Burial was held at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Saturday, Aug. 8.
Burial was at the Reily Cemetery.

John Ancil George
John Ancil George, 82, of Camden died on Saturday,
Aug. 8, 1998, at the Hospice of Dayton.
He was born Feb. 11, 1916, in London, Ky. He
was a farmer for over 30 years; retired in 1985 from Landmark in Eaton
after 26 years of service. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 11,
at the First Southern Baptist Church of Camden, with the Rev. Greg Jackson
officiating. Burial was at Fairmount Cemetery.

Arthur P. Goldner
Arthur P. Goldner, 74, 6195 Fairfield Road, Oxford,
died in Oxford on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio,
on Nov. 27, 1923. He came to Oxford to attend Miami University in 1942
and except for three years of service as a pilot with the United States
Navy Air Corps during WWII, he has lived in Oxford since as a businessman
and attorney.
Services were held Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at the
Miami University Sesquicentennial Chapel, with the Rev. Robert K. Foster
officiating. Burial was at the Oxford Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Oxford Life Squad
or to Miami University. Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, Oxford, was in charge

Harold P. "Huffy" Huffman
Harold P. "Huffy" Huffman, 68, 6214 Hester Road,
died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at his residence. An Oxford native, he was
born in his parents' home of South Main Street on July 9, 1930. He graduated
from high school and attended Miami University in Oxford. He served in
the Korean War in the capacity of sergeant (Army) from 1951 to 1953.
He was well acquainted with the Oxford community
as he provided plumbing, heating, maintenance and building services. He
worked for Mahany Coal and Lumber for many years. He then worked for McCullough-Hyde
Hospital for approximately 25 years before retiring.
Funeral services were held at the Oxford Church
of God on Wednesday, Aug. 13. Burial followed at the Oxford Cemetery.
Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, Oxford, was in
charge of the arrangements.

Maude Elizabeth Paxton
Maude Elizabeth Paxton, age 92, formerly of 325
W. High St., Oxford, died on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998, at the Oxford View
Nursing Center. She was born in Israel Township, Preble County, on Sept.
5, 1902. She was a home economics teacher for thirty-six years at College
Corner High School, Conneaut (Ohio) High School and at Warren Wilson Junior
College in Asheville, N. C.
She moved to Oxford in 1975.
Private graveside services will be held at the
College Corner Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions
may be made to the Resident Council Fund at the Oxford View Nursing Center,
6099 Fairfield Road, Oxford, Ohio 45056.

W. Mark Sheard
W. Mark Sheard, 86, a lifelong resident of Oxford,
died at his home on Saturday, August 8,1998. Born in Oxford on March 29,
he worked for Carmen Studebaker Sales and Service, for Socony-Mobil Oil
Company and from 1946 until 1975 for Cincinnati Gas & Electric, retiring
as Oxford office manager.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday,
at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, 101 W. Church St., Oxford, with burial
at the Oxford Cemetery.
Eastern Star Services were held Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial
gifts be made to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital, the Masonic Charitable
Foundation, P.O. Box 629, Worthington, OH 43085 or to Vitas Innovative

Roberta (Bertie) G. Waltz, 83, 10183 Whitcomb
Road, Brookville, Ind., died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, at her residence. She
was born May 12, 1915, in West Harrison, Ind.
She was a homemaker and lived most of her life
in Franklin County. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday,
Aug. 13, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, Brookville, Ind. Burial
was at Maple Grove, Brookville with the Rev. Carl Dixon officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Whitcomb
United Methodist Church.

Joan G. Wayne
Joan G. Wayne, 70, 20 Rose Ave., Oxford, died
at her home Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, following an illness of one year. She
was born in Piqua, Ohio, on Oct. 20, 1927.
She had resided in Hagerstown, Ind., before moving
to Oxford 16 years ago. She was a graduate of Piqua High School and Ohio
State University. She was formerly employed by Milton-Bradley Co. of Chicago
and for many years owned and operated Joan's Cab Service in Oxford.
Memorial services will be held at Kumler Chapel
at 11 a.m. (Ohio time) Friday, Aug. 14, with the Revs. Dick Wang and Mel
Humes officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society or to Vitose Hospice, 11117 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, Oh 45242.

David L. Frazier
David L. Frazier, 67, professor emeritus of English
at Miami University, died of cancer Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at McCullough-Hyde
Memorial Hospital. He was an instructor at Miami 1955-57, an instructor
at Earlham 1957-59 and a teaching assistant and then graduate fellow at
the University of New Mexico 1959-61. He returned to Miami, joining the
English faculty in 1962. He retired in 1994.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 1,
at the Oxford United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the cancer
support group at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital or the college and youth
program at the Oxford United Methodist Church.

Alpha M. Norvell
Alpha M. Norvell, 72, formerly of West College
Corner, Ind., died Sunday, Aug. 30, at the residence of her sister in College
Corner, after a lengthy illness. She was born on Jan. 4, 1926.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge No.
179 in Ontario, Calif. She studied interior design and computer programming
and one year of home economics after high school. She was a food service
manager for Szabo Foods.
Funeral services were held at the Showalter-Blackwell
Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, Wednesday, Sept. 2. Burial
followed at the College Corner Cemetery, W. College Corner.

Cancer Society at the funeral home.

Magdolyn Evonda Warren
Magdolyn Evonda Warren, 89 of Oxford, died at
her home on Thursday, Aug. 27,1998. She was born on April 13, 1909 in Richmond,
Indiana and was a 1927 graduate of Steele High School in Dayton, Ohio.
She returned to Oxford in 1928 where she married Claude Warren on January
19,1931.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 2
at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home with burial in the Woodside Cemetery
in Oxford.
Memorial contributions may directed to the Oxford
Senior Citizens Center.

Burnice L. Emrick, 103, of Northedge Apartments,
Eaton, Ohio, died Sunday, Sept.
13, 1998, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Miamisburg,
after a brief hospitalization. He was born on Feb. 23, 1895, at the family
homestead located in West Elkton Township.
Graveside services were held at West Elkton Fairmound
Cemetery Saturday, Sept. 19.

Elena Fichter, 74, Charleston, Ill., formerly
of Oxford, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998. She was born Jan. 5, 1924, in
Torreon Coahuila, Mexico. She married Richard Hiett Fichter in 1950.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 18, at
the Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dale Beck officiating.
The family suggests memorials be senty to the
Alzheimer's Support Group of Central Illinois, 2484 East Harrison St.,
Charleston, Ill. 61920.

Anna E. Graham, 88, of Camden, Ohio, died Tuesday,
Sept. 15, 1998, at her home.
She was born on April 15, 1910, in Hamilton, Ohio.
She was employed by the Village of Camden as clerk
and treasurer until her retirement. She was a member of the Camden United
Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 19,
at the R.C. Nein & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., Camden. Burial was at Fairview
Cemetery in Gratis, Ohio.

Roy F. Hull, 68, 11022 Keeler Road, Brookville,
Ind., died Sept. 18, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Connersville, Ind.
He retired from Farm Bureau Insurance, on Nov.
1, 1992, after 35 years of service.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 22,
at First Baptist Church of Connersville with the Rev. Dan McCollough, pastor,
officiating. A Masonic memorial service was held Monday.
Burial was at Dale Cemetery, Connersville.

Estella (Schatzman) Keister, 96, of Bellbrook,
formerly of Oxford and Middletown, died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at Carriage
by the Lake Nursing Home, Bellbrook.
Graveside services were held Monday, Sept. 21,
at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, with the Rev. Mike Weber officiating.
Tobias-Conner Funeral Home, Bellbrook, assisted
the family with arrangements.

Bernice Robitzer
Bernice (Murrell) Robitzer, 95, a resident of
Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Village since 1991, died Saturday, Sept. 19,
1998. She was born in Warren County, Ohio, on Feb. 3, 1903.
She taught school from 1920-1927 and worked as
deputy treasurer for the Warren County Treasurer's Office for 10 years.
She later moved to Florida where she worked as secretary for the University
of Miami Physics Department.
A private burial was held Thursday, Sept. 24,
at the Miami Cemetery, Corwin.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday,
Sept. 27, at the Otterbein-Lebanon Chapel.
Memorials are requested to the Otterbein-Lebanon
Benevolent Care Fund.

Virgil E. Wallen, 81, a longtime resident of Oxford,
died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998.
He was employed at Miami University for 35 years,
and the Oxford Presbyterian Church as a groundkeeper and maintenance man
for 10 years.
Private services will be held at the convenience
