Hazel A. Farrell
Quaker Springs Hazel A. Farrell, 88, a lifelong resident of the Quaker
Springs area, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at St. Marys Hospital in Troy.
Born Jan. 7, 1911, in the Town of Stillwater, she was the daughter
of the late John and Mary (Flatley) Farrell and was a graduate of Mechanicville
High School.
A school teacher for 35 years, she had taught in country schools for
10 years, including the Quaker Meeting House School in Quaker Springs,
and for 25 years at the Stillwater Central School.
She was a member of the Mechanicville - Stillwater Retired Teachers
Association, an honorary member of the New York State Congress of PTA,
a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association and a member
of the Oneonta Alumni Association. Miss Farrell was a Charter Member of
the Quaker Springs Sunshiners, a member of the Racing City Seniors, and
the Old Saratoga Seniors. She was a former 4-H Leader and a member of the
Wagmans Ridge Home Bureau. An active grange member, she belonged to the
Stillwater Grange, Saratoga County Pomona, and the New York State and National
Granges. She also was a member of the Saratoga County Brookside Historical
Society, the Old Saratoga Historical Society, Bi-Centennial Committee,
was a former member of the Town of Saratoga Board of Appeals and had served
on the Towns Environmental Advisory Council.
Hazel was a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville.
She was pre-deceased by sisters, Florence Condon, Bertha Farnan, Louisa
Hedrick, Mary Durkee, Theresa Billings, and Irene Deyoe.
Survivors include three nieces and three nephews, grand nieces and
nephews and great grand nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday, May 10, 1999, at
Notre Dame-Visitation Church.
The Rite of Committal will follow at the family plot in St. Marys Cemetery
Schuylerville.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Flynn
Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, NY.
The family suggests memorials in her name be made to Notre Dame-Visitation

Clifford L. Gordon
WHITEHALL Clifford L. Gordon, 74, of Vaughn Street, Whitehall, died
unexpectedly Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born in Whitehall, N.Y., on June 4, 1924, he was the son of the late
Louis C. and Minerva (Allor) Gordon.
Mr. Gordon was a communicant of Notre Dame Des Victories Catholic Church
of Whitehall.
He attended Whitehall High School graduating in the class of 1942.
Mr. Gordon enlisted in the United States Army during World War II.
He served in Luzon, New Guinea and the Southern Philippines.
He was employed as an electrician for General Electric company in Fort
Edward for 32 years retiring in January of 1987.
Mr. Gordon and his wife, Beatrice A. (Caputo) Gordon were united in
marriage on May 24, 1952. They would have celebrated their 47 wedding anniversary
this month.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #83 of Whitehall, receiving
his 30 year membership certificate this year.
Mr. Gordon enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, fishing,
hunting, gardening and woodworking.
He is predeceased by one brother, Gerald Gordon, who died in World
War II, one sister, Patricia Ruby died in 1984.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice A. Gordon of Whitehall; three
daughters, Brenda J. Gordon of Pembroke, Mass., Marcia L. Gordon of Randolph,
Mass., and Christine M. Gordon of Marlboro, Mass.; two brothers, Roland
E. Gordon and his wife Lucille, and Donald J. Gordon and his wife Dorothy,
both of Whitehall; one sister, Lorraine LaPlaca of White River Junction,
Vt., and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Services will be conducted at a time and day to be announced on Saturday
in the obituary section.
The family invites friends to join them and share fond memories from
4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 1999 at the Michael G. Angiolillo Funeral
Home, 210 Broadway, Whitehall, N.Y. The American Legion Post #83 of Whitehall
will meet at the funeral home at 7 p.m. for services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations
to the American Legion Post #83, Memorial Fund, 148 Main Street, Whitehall,

Helen G. Flynn
SCHROON LAKE Helen G. Flynn, 76, died suddenly late Wednesday evening,
May 5, 1999, at Glens Falls Hospital, Glens Falls, N.Y.
Helen was born on Nov. 1, 1922, in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of
the late Karl S. and Gertrude Tappan Gorke.
She graduated from Potsdam Teachers College in 1945. She taught school
at the Schroon Lake Central School for 29 years. She was a member of the
New York State Retired Teachers Association, the Schroon Lake Teachers
Association, the Schroon Lake Health Center Guild and the Schroon Lake
Health Center Advisory Committee.
Helen was predeceased by her first husband Eugene Gath in 1963 and
her second husband Harold Flynn in 1989.
Helen was a very active member of the Schroon Lake Community Church
where she sang in the choir and served as a member of the Pastoral Relations
Committee.
Survivors include one son Peter Gath of Schroon Lake, two daughters,
Dorinda Thomson of Carmel and Jacquelyn Scrobola of Mahopac; one brother,
David Gorke of Middlifield, Conn.; seven grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Schroon
Lake Community Church.
Interment will take place at the Schroon Lake Community Cemetery at
the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing hours, however the family suggests friends
visit the family home on Fowler Ave., after the service.
The family suggests memorials take the form of donations to the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation or The United Cerebral Palsey Foundation.

Mildred Burch
WARRENSBURG and HADLEY Mildred Burch, 78, formerly of Warrensburg,
died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, Vt.
Born on Dec. 21, 1920, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of Ernest
and Mabel Langworthy Fuller.
She was a graduate of Warrensburg High School.
On April 18, 1941, she married Ralph Burch in Lake George. He died
on Sept. 7, 1996.
One brother, Leon Fuller, and one granddaughter, Michelle Perry, died
before her.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Pataki and her husband Michael
of Lake Luzerne and Dianne Hastings and her husband Donald of Hadley; one
sister, Leila Wood of Athol; two brothers, Archie Fuller and his wife Vi
of Alabama and Earl Fuller and his wife Carol of Warrensburg; four grandchildren,
Dale Perry of Warrensburg, Jay Whipple and his wife Melinda of Glens Falls
and DeRonda and Deanne Hastings of Hadley; three great-grandsons, Matthew
Perry of Warrensburg and Dennis and Kevin Whipple of Glens Falls; as well
as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Brewer Funeral
Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral
home with the Rev. Thomas Parsons, Pastor of the Rockwell Falls Presbyterian
Church, Lake Luzerne, officiating.
Burial will be at Warrensburg Cemetery, Warrensburg.

Pauline (Stewart) Adams
AUBURN, MASS. Pauline (Stewart) Adams, 94, formerly of Holden, died
Wednesday, April 21, 1999, in The Meadows of Leicester after an illness.
Born in Bath, Maine, she was the daughter of Bertram R. and Lila (Robinson)
Stewart.
She graduated from Portsmouth N.H. High School in 1922 and the University
of New Hampshire, Durham in 1926. She then took graduate work for two years
at UNH.
Mrs. Adams was once a laboratory technician for 10 years at Worchester
City Hospital.
She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Glens Falls
and a past 40 year member of the Glens Falls Hospital Guild. She was a
Girl Scout leader for many years in Holden and Glens Falls. She was an
avid reader.
Pauline lived many years in Kittery, Maine. She then lived nine years
in Worcester and 22 years in Holden. She lived for 40 years in Glens Falls
before moving to Auburn in 1997.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Charles S. Adams in
1994 and her daughter Barbara Chandler in 1984.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret W. Adams; five grandchildren;
four great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 8,
1999 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Barclay officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery.

CORINTH Rebecca Lianne Wright, 34, of Center Street, Corinth died suddenly
Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at Saratoga Hospital.
Born on Jan. 18, 1965, in Flagstaff, Ariz., she was the daughter of
Stephen Wright and Bernice Taras.
She moved to this area in 1989, and was a Junior at SUNY of Albany.
Rebecca was a member of the Lamaze instructors and was a certified
birthing coach and a breast feeding coach.
She was a devoted mother and enjoyed reading, teaching and family.
Rebecca was predeceased recently by her grandmothers, Joan Wright and
Dorothy Taras.
Survivors include her fiancee, Matthew Lewis of Corinth; father, Stephen
Wright of Syracuse; mother remarried, Mrs. William Bernice Corrigan of
Saratoga Springs; three daughters, Kayla Wright, Sarah Wright, Emma Wright;
one son, Elijah Lewis all of Corinth; grandfather, Walter Taras Sr. of
Schuylerville; sister, Jayne Wright of California; two step-brothers, Christopher
Corrigan of Florida, and Patrick Corrigan of Virginia; one step-sister,
Kelly Sullivan of Clifton Park; several aunts and uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. at St. Clements Church, Lake
Ave., Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Burial will be at Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs.
