died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002 at Corning Hospital following a 
long illness.
She was the owner of Mike's Pizza Parlor in Addison and the 
manager of the Pinnacle State Park restaurant.
Survivors include her sons, Lee Webb of Wilmington, Ohio, Mark 
Webb of Addison, Michael Webb of Delmar, Md.; two daughters, 
Tammy Stuart and Jodi Crane, both of Addison; a brother, 
Stafford Williams of Horseheads.
Arrangements are incomplete with the H.P. Smith & Son Inc.

Neva P. Webster 
WELLSBORO, PA. | Neva P. Webster, 96, of Wellsboro, died 
Thursday, March 7, 2002 at Carleton Senior Care Home.
She and her husband, Merle B. Webster helped establish the 
Calvary Tabernacle, Assembly of God Church, in Wellsboro. She 
was also a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Robinson and Vida 
Compton, both of Wellsboro; a son, Paul W. Webster of 
Wellsboro.
Calling hours are 7-9 p.m. Monday at Tussey-Mosher Funeral 
Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro.
Services will be held there at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Vern 
Holliday officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, 
Holliday.



Herbert S. Welch 
TARPON SPRINGS, FLA. | Herbert S. Welch, 89, of IHS Nursing 
Home, formerly of Corning, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002.
He retired from Corning Community College and Corning Inc.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are 
by Acly-Stover Funeral Home, Corning, N.Y.



Herbert S.  Welch 
TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. | Herbert S. Welch, 89, formerly of 
Corning, died March 20, 2002.
He was retired from Corning Community College and Corning Inc. 
and was a World War II veteran.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be 
held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elmwood Cemetery in Caton, N.Y.

Stanley E.  Welfling 
COUDERSPORT, PA. | Stanley E. Welfling, 82 of Germania, died 
Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at Cole Memorial Hospital.
He and his wife, Ruby, owned and operated a dairy farm in 
Germania for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Schumann Welfling; a son, 
Edward Welfling of Wellsboro; three daughters, Susan Welfling 
of Coudersport, Beth Welfling of McElhattan and Joan Brungard 
of Lock Haven; a brother, Hugh Welfling of Galeton; a sister, 
June Traub of Germania.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. 
Matthaeus Lutheran Church, Germania, the Rev. Kerry Aucker 
officiating. Arrangements are by Collins-Olney Funeral Home, 
Galeton.



Harry J.  Welsh 
BRADFORD | Harry Welsh, 82, of Lamoka Lake Road, formerly of 
Corning, died Friday, March 15, 2002 at his home.
He was a train dispatcher for New York Central, Penn Central, 
and Conrail until he retired in 1979.
Survivors include his wife, Marion E. Welsh at home; a son, 
John Welsh of Middlesex; a daughter, Jean Marie Kosty of 
Lamoka Lake; three sisters, Alpha Ayers of New Milford, Pa., 
Geraldine Barker of Shamokin Dam, Pa., and Elsie Jane Miller 
of North Carolina.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Weston 
Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Jane Winters officiating. Burial 
will be in Tyrone Union Cemetery at the convenience of the 
family. Arrangements are by Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water St., 
Dundee.



Dr. Harry B. Werner 
BATH | Dr. Harry B. Werner, 88, of Bath, died Wednesday April 
3, 2002 at home.
He was a retired urologist from the Bath VA Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Anne Cohn Werner; a 
daughter, Ellen Werner of New York City; a son, Dr. David 
Werner of State College, Pa.
There will be no calling hours.
Services will be held at noon today at the Bath VA, Rabbi 
Miriam Biatch officiating. Burial will be in Bath National 
Cemetery.

BATH | Harry B. Werner, 88, of Bath, died Wednesday, April 3, 
2002 at home.
He was a urologist at the Bath Veterans Administration Medical 
Center.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Anne Cohn Werner; one 
daughter, Ellen Werner of New York City.

WELLSBORO, PA. | Betty L. West, 79, of East Avenue, died 
Friday, Aug. 2, 2002 at home.
She owned and operated the Canyon Motel.

Wellsboro; F. Craig West and James West, both of Wellsboro.

died Friday, May 17, 2002, at her home.

June 2, 2002 at Corning Hospital.

14, 2002 at the Bath Veterans Administration Medical Center. 
He had been a self-employed dairy farmer.

Westfall, all of Dundee; four daughters, Cathy A. Krnotch of 
Newfield, Barbara Jean Dennis of Penrose, Colo., Debbie L. 
Ferguson of Keuka Park, and Sandy M. Scott of Dundee; five 
sisters, Irene Marusarz and Pauline Potter, both of Dundee, 
Marion Thompson of Rochester, Eunice Hall of Himrod, and 
Janice Hamilton of Florida.

WELLSBORO, Pa. | William Briggs Wetherbee, 75, of East Avenue, 
died Friday Sept. 13, 2002. 
He taught mathematics in the public schools in Wellsboro, 
Corning, N.Y., and 23 years at Mansfield University where he 
retired as associate professor in 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Reamer Wetherbee; a daughter, 
Julianne Wetherbee of Wellsboro; a sister, Gertrude Powers of 
Wellsboro.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Wheaton; one

WELLSBORO, PA. | Frederick M. Wilcox, 77, of Sturrock Street, 
Wellsboro, died Saturday, June 22, 2002, at home.
A Wellsboro resident for the past 10 years, he had lived in 
Corning, N.Y., 40 years and owned and operated the former 
Corning Trophy House. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of 
World War II.

daughters, Marcia Allen of Torrington, Conn., and Kelly 
Kimball of Corning, N.Y.; two sons, Michael Wilcox of Webster,

years.

sons, Donald L. Wilcox of Conway, S.C., Richard A. Wilcox of 
New Waterford, Ohio, Larry G. Wilcox of Canton; a daughter, 
Cheryl A. Dudinetz of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

for several years.

Wilkins of Hornell; two sisters, Miriam Carroll-Moss of 
Thacherville and Barbara Bennett of Arkport; two brothers,
