King Ferry.

Services will be held there at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be 
in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Emma E.  Spangenberg 
CORNING | Emma E. Spangenberg, 79, of Campbell, died Saturday, 
May 25, 2002 at Corning Hospital.
Survivors include six sons, Vernon Spangenberg of Gettysburg, 
Pa., John Spangenberg of Campbell, Gordon Spangenberg of 
Savona, Nathan Spangenberg of Painted Post, Philip Spangenberg 
of Bradford, and Lavern of Florida; five daughters, Gail 
Spangenberg of New York City, Joan Barteau of New Mexico, 
Kathy Taylor of Painted Post, Natalie Kitchen of Campbell, and 
Sue Decamp of Beaver Dams.

PENN YAN | William M. Spears, 85, of Dundee, died Friday, 
March 29, 2002 at The Homestead.
He was a machine operator for International Salt of Watkins 
Glen.
Survivors include two sons, Noel E. Spears of Maywood, N.J., 
and William H. Spears of Penn Yan; two daughters, Vera C. 
Spears of Wayland and Madeline E. Verdi of Dundee.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Baird Funeral 
Home, 36 Water St., Dundee. 
Services will be held there at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. 
Donald McIlvride officiating. Burial will be in Hillside 
Cemetery, Dundee.
Kenneth J. Spears 
ORLANDO, FLA. | Kenneth J. Spears, 82, formerly of Corning, 
N.Y., died Thursday, March 21, 2002.
He had been an accountant and police officer in Corning.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth John Spears Jr. of Ligonier, 
Ind.; two daughters, Linda Hawkins of Groveland and Laurie 
Isbell of Tallahassee.
Services will be held Wednesday in Orlando.

two daughters, Mary E. Fletcher of Waialua, Hawaii, and 
Margaret A. Walsh of Edina, Minn.

ELMIRA | Duane 'Doc' Dennison Spencer, 76, of 103 Walnut St. 
Ext., Elkland, Pa., died Thursday, May 23, 2002 at the Arnot 
Ogden Medical Center. 
He worked for Consolidated Gas Co. for more than 35 years.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, R. Waneta; two 
daughters, Lorraine Spencer of Rye, N.H. and Kelli Marchi of 
Addison.

April 19, 2002.

CORNING | Floyd B. Spicer Sr., 99, of 4025 Pine Hill Road, 
died Thursday, July 18, 2002.
He had operated his own dairy farm and for more than 36 years 
was a rural mail carrier for the Wellsville Post Office.
Survivors include two sons, Floyd B. Spicer Jr. of Corning and 
Richard L. Spicer of Wellsville; a half brother, Fred H. 
Phillips of Whitesville.
Calling hours are 7-9 p.m. today and 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the 
Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville.

Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002 at Broad Acres Nursing Home.

Wilmington, N.C., Pamela Boom of Tioga, and Ginger Kirk of 
Niles Valley.

Friday, Sept. 27, 2002 at the Bath V.A. Medical Center.
He had been a utility worker for Corning Inc.

National Cemetery.

Thursday, May 2, 2002 at home.
He was a Senior at the Wellsboro High School.

Stanley-Welfling of Wellsboro; a brother, Ryan C. Stanley at 
home; a sister, Charissa M. Stanley at home; two step 
brothers, Karl Welfling and Jon Welfling both at home.

ROCHESTER | Sandra K. Staples, 59, of 162 Hoover Drive, 
Greece, died Saturday, May 25, 2002 at the Latta Road Nursing 
Home.
She was retired from Eastman Kodak.
Survivors include her parents, Robert and Marilyn Woodcock 
Staples.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the 
family. Burial will be in Sabinsville Cemetery, Sabinsville, 
Pa.

Wednesday, April 3, 2002.

Hospital.

HORNELL | Emerson B. Stevens, 93, of 7 Hakes Ave., died 
Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002 at St. James Mercy Hospital.
He was the owner and operator of the former Emerson B. Stevens 
Gift Shop on Main Street for 36 years.
Survivors include a niece, Barbara Vosler of Getty-sburg, Pa., 
and a nephew, James Stevens of Wellsboro, Pa.

He retired from the United States Department of Agriculture as 
executive director for the Schuyler County Office of the 
Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service.

Catherine Joseph of Huntington and Ellen R. Stevens of Valois; 
two sisters, Jeannette Hull of Valois, and Joan Platt of 
Nokomis, Fla.
