Robert Dickinson of Sayre, Pa.; one sister, Theresa Reynoldsof 
Vestal.

Ralph W.  Pearsall 
WATKINS GLEN | Ralph W. Pearsall, 70, of Watkins Glen died 
Monday, Sept. 23, 2002.
He had worked at the Horseheads B.P.O.E. #2297.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, BettyLou Pearsall; two 
daughters, Wendy Pearsall of Poland, Maine, and Marla Pearsall 
of Pawtucket, R.I.; a son, Michael Pearsall of Albany; four 
brothers, Earl Pearsall of Chula Vista, Calif., Kenneth 
Pearsall and Edward Pearsall, both of Addison, and Floyd 
Pearsall of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Elaine Antonio of Painted 
Post.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the 
First Presbyterian Church of Watkins Glen, the Rev. Beverly 
Karr-Lyon officiating. Arrangements are by Haughey-Wood

ELMIRA | Jean I. Pearson, 88, of Elmira, died Saturday, Feb. 
23, 2002, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol A. Paciorek of Elmira 
and Melissa Pearson; a sister, Mildred Smith of Miami, Fla.
Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. Monday at the McInerny Funeral Home 
in Elmira.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at 
Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Burial will be in Rural Home 
Cemetery, Big Flats.



Walter E.  Peek
MIAMI, FLA. | Walter E. Peek, 82, of 9064 Main St., Pulteney, 
died Friday, April 5, 2002 at Baptist Hospital, Miami.
He was a retired grape grower and former Pulteney Town 
supervisor and Steuben County supervisor.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Kennedy Peek; three sons, 
Fred Peek of Penn Yan, Walter Peek of Fairport and Don Peek of 
Pulteney; one daughter, Ann McKnight of High Bridge, N.J.
Services will be held Saturday at the Pulteney Presbyterian 
Church.

CORNING | Evelyn Carpenter Pelham, 83, of 313 Village Manor, 
Painted Post, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002 at Corning Hospital.
She was a retired legal secretary.
Survivors include a sister, Vivian Carpenter Jelliff of 
Corning; a brother, Charles S. Carpenter of Addison.

MANSFIELD, Pa. | June A. Pequignot, 80, formerly of Wellsboro, 
died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002 at Broad Acres Nursing Home.
Survivors include her daughter, Dixie Sheridan of Mansfield.

PENN YAN | Bernice K. Percy, 86, of Penn Yan, formerly of 
Dundee, died Sunday, March 24, 2002 at The Homestead.

BATH | Flora E. Perkins, 87, died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at the 
Taylor Health Care Center.
She had been a nurse's aid at Waits Nursing Home in Bath, and 
a cook for the National Hotel, the Amoco Diner and the Court 
House Diner.
Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Perkins of Bath, 
Rebecca Jordan of Ontario, Diane Reed of Visalia, Calif., and 
Deanne Geyer of Wellsville; one son, John Perkins of Savona.
There will be no calling hours.
Services will be held at 
2 p.m. Wednesday at Fagan's Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert 
Tuttle officiating. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.

MONTOUR FALLS | Emma K. Perry, 89, of Dundee, died Friday, 
Sept. 13, 2002 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility.
She had worked for various vineyards.

and Janie M. Lovell Perry of 234 Horseheads Blvd., Elmira 
Heights, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at Upstate Medical 
Center.
Survivors include his parents; one sister, Tonya Perry of 
Elmira Heights; one brother, Michael Clark of Elmira Heights; 
maternal grandparents, Robert and Roena Lovell of Elmira; 
paternal grandparents, Frances Edger Perry Fundurulic and 
Joseph Fundurulic of Pine Valley.

Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 at Corning Hospital.

ROCHESTER | Jean M. Perry, of Rochester, died Sunday, June 5, 
2002.
Survivors include her husband, Gregory Perry; two daughters,

MONTOUR FALLS | John L. Perry, 58, of County Route 27, Rock 
Stream, died Sunday, March 10, 2002 at Schuyler Hospital.
He worked at Dalrymple Construction in Elmira and was co-owner 
of J. & L. Service in Dundee until 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Veronica E. "Honeybee" Perry; a 
daughter, Jude Mae Perry at home; two brothers, David L. Perry 
of Rock Stream and Matthew Perry Jr. of Dunee; four sisters, 
Mary L. Stanley of Downey, Calif, Julia E. Fultz of Dunee, 
Joyce M. Epperson of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Barbara J. 
Saucier of Rock Stream.

Jr. and Daniel R. Perry, both of Watkins Glen; a brother, 
Elwood Miller of Elmira.

ELMIRA | Gladys M. "Babe" Personius, 82, of 569 Lyons St., 
died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 at Arnot Ogden Hospital.
She had worked for Flickingers in Elmira as a bookkeeper.
Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn Myers of Elmira and 
Betty Rossi of Avoca.
Calling hours are noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the Bond Davis & 
Bishop Funeral Home, Avoca.

Richard W.  Personius
HORSEHEADS | Richard "Curly" W. Personius, 86, of Westinghouse 
Road, Horseheads, died Thursday, May 2, 2002.
He founded Curly's Chicken House on Lake Road, Elmira and Mr. 
Chicken in Watkins Glen along with other restaurants.
Survivors include his wife, Aileen Personius; two sisters, 
Gladys Bush of Watkins Glen and Frances Rappleye of Dundee; 
three step sons, Jack Weber of Toledo, Ohio, Ron Weber of 
Tucker, Ga. and Gary Weber, of Horseheads.
Calling hours are 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral 
Home, Watkings Glen.

HORNELL | Angelo A. Petrillo, 75, of 390 Fairview Ave., died 
Sunday, May 12, 2002 at home.
He retired in 1986 as a clerk and/or accountant at the former 
Erie & Erie-Lackawanna Railroads, with 47 years.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Emerson Petrillo; four 
daughters, Lisa Grady, Debbie Barrett, Angelina Huffman, all 
of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and Michelle Petrillo of Redway, 
Calif.; a son, Michael Petrillo of Avon, Ohio; four sisters, 
Patricia Sciotti, Gladys Petrelli, Mary Petrelli and Santa 
Cleveland, all of Hornell; a brother, Dominic Petrillo of 
Wellsville, Pa.

HERSHEY, Pa. | Michael A. Pfaff, 44, of 3 Holly Court, 
Gettysburg, died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 16, 2002.
He was employed at Duke Energy Fayette in Masontown.
Survivors include his parents, Stanley and Helen Pfaff of 
Arkport, N.Y.; two sisters, Debbie Connell of Hornell, N.Y., 
and Michelle Jackson of Arkport, N.Y.; two brothers, Donald 
Pfaff of Arkport, N.Y., and Rick Pfaff of Dansville, N.Y.
There will be no calling hours. A private service will be held 
at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the 
Robertson Funeral Home, Hornell.



Wayne E.  Pfaff 
ROCHESTER | Wayne E. Pfaff, 61, of 7611 Airport Road, Hornell, 
died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002 at Strong Memorial Hospital.
He had worked at the former SKF Industries for several years 
and also had been a carpenter with Local Union 700.
Survivors include his wife, Kathie Rawleigh Pfaff; a son, 
Keith Pfaff of Hornell; a daughter, Dianne Duncan of Oswego; 
two brothers, Stanley Pfaff of Arkport and Dale Pfaff of 
Wayland.
There will be no calling hours.

Addison, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002.
He was retired from Corning Inc.

of Richmond, Va., Andrew Hibbard of Chicago, Ill., and Aron 
Hibbard of Corning; his mother, Leona Shick of Victor; his

BATH | Norman R. Phillips, 68, of 6850 Lake Salubria Drive, 
Bath, died Saturday, June 22, 2002, at Ira Davenport Hospital.
An Air Force veteran, he was a retired gas technician for Bath 
Electric & Gas.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Carr Phillips of Bath; his 
mother, Leona Phillips of Bath; a son, Tom Phillips of Bath; a 
daughter, Tracey Phillips of Bath; a sister, Barbara Terrenzi 
of Rochester.
Services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Thomas 
Episcopal Church, Bath, the Rev. Dennis Wienk officiating. 
Burial will be in the St. Thomas Columbarium.

SAYRE, PA. | Phyllis Mae Phillips, 69, of Morris, died March 
1, 2002 at Robert Packer Hospital.
She was a housewife.

Millport, N.Y. and Harold Phillips of Kernersville, N.C.; a

Liverpool.

formerly of Big Flats, N.Y., died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002 at St. 
Joseph's Hospital.
She had been an employee of the Wilmington Trust Company in 
Wilmington, Del.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Cunningham of 
Parkersburg; one son, Mike Pickering of Wilmington, Del.; one 
sister, Dorothy Griswold of Montgomery, Ala.; one brother, 
Larry McDonald of Orlando, Fla.

Alfred Station, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002 at the 
Wellsville Highland Healthcare Center.
Survivors include his wife, Minona; a daughter, Elizabeth 
Sullon of Friendship; a son, Fred Pierce of Corning.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alfred Station 
Seventh Day Baptist Church. Burial will be in Alfred Rural 
Cemetery, Alfred.

James A. Pierri Sr.
PAINTED POST | James A. Pierri Sr., 65, of North Hamilton 
Street, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002 at his home.
He was retired from Corning Inc. as an electrician where he 
worked for 35 years until 1996.
He is survived by his wife Elaine "Micki" Pierri; three 
daughters, Janet Pierri of Corning, Joyce Socol of Pittsburgh, 
Pa. and Jennifer Stickler of Beaver Dams; a son, James Pierri 
Jr. of Painted Post; a sister, Anna Lesso of Painted Post; 
four brothers, John Pierri of Corning, Raymond Pierri of 
Painted Post, Joseph Pierri of Elmira and Anthony Pierri of 
Horseheads.
A prayer service will be held at 8:45 a.m. Monday at Phillips 
Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. 
Mary's Church, 155 State St., Corning, Father Mark Miller,

HORSEHEADS | Sandra B. Pittman, 64, of 241 Robin Road, died 
Tuesday, May 7, 2002.
She had worked for the Chemung County Department of Social 
Services and was the secretary at Three Rivers Development 
Corp. in Corning.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Walter R. Pittman; 
three daughters, Deirdre Pierce of Syracuse, Elizabeth 
Mamrosch of Wallingford, Conn., and Jane-Margaret Bender of 
Ithaca; her mother, Evelyn Stromdahl Berglund of Warren, Pa.; 
one brother, Alan Berglund of Warren, Pa.; two sisters, Carol 
Cox of Griffith, Ind. and Mary Weiss of Warren, Pa.

and a dairy farmer in the Town of Wayne

He owned and operated his own small engine repair shop and 
worked part time as a laborer for area dairy farmers.

N.Y.; one sister, Barbara Jo Powers of St. Florence, Fla.

She had been an employee of Garlock Sealing Technologies.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, George Powers; one 
brother, George Whittaker of Canandaigua.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Farmington 
Friends Church. Burial will be in Farmington Friends Cemetery.

Valentine B.  Pratt
RALEIGH, N.C. | Valentine B. Pratt, 90, of Raleigh, died 
Sunday, April 28, 2002 at the Stewart Health Center at 
Springmoor Retirement Center.
He had ran the family farm in Prattsburgh, N.Y., and also 
owned and operated Pratt's AGWAY Farm Supply Store in Corning, 
N.Y.
Survivors include a son, Alan W. Pratt of Chapel Hill; three 
stepsons, Paul J. Manning, Robert L. Manning and Stanley J. 
Manning.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the First 
Presbyterian Church, Corning, N.Y.
Arrangements are by Cremation Society of the Carolinas, 
Raleigh.

Betty J.  Preston 
CORNING | Betty Jean Preston, 74, of Bailey Creek Road, died 
Tuesday, July 16, 2002.
She had been a home health aid with Corning Homemakers.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Waldo Preston; a 
son Wally Reed Jr. of Garland, Texas; a daughter, Cassandra 
Jelliff of Osceola, Pa.; a step son, Bill Preston of Corning; 
four stepdaughters, Shirley K. Burgess of Longs, S.C., Judy 
Jones of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Mary Ann Morse of Pamplico, S.C., 
and Linda Swimley of Corning; a sister, Joyce Sport of Rialto, 
Calif.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Haughey Funeral 
Home, 216 E. First St., Corning the Rev. Lonny DeWalt 
officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Painted 
Post.



John  Prislopski 
HORSEHEADS | John Prislopski, 77, of 237 Scenic Drive, 
Horseheads, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Marines. He worked 
for New York Telephone in Elmira before retiring.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jane A. Pendergast 
Prislopski; four daughters, Linda Short of Apalachin, Mary 
Zimmerman of Pleasanton, Calif., Debbie Sonnenschmidt of 
Rhinebeck, Susan Dickens of South Bristol; a sister, Jeanne 
Cunningham of Jacksonville, Fla.
There will be no calling hours.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the 
family. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.



Robert G.  Proctor
COUDERSPORT, Pa. | Robert G. Proctor, 79, of Galeton, died 
Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Cole Memorial Hospital.
He was a self-employed logger.
Survivors include one son, Richard Proctor of Galeton; one 
brother, James Proctor of Galeton; three sisters, June Parker 
of Westfield, Ruth Snyder of Ulysses, and Marjorie White of 
Hanover.
There will be no calling hours or services.
Arrangements are by the Collins-Olney Funeral Home, Galeton.



Gerald A.  Pruden
CAMPBELL | Gerald A. Pruden, 58, of Route 415 S., died 
Thursday, April 18, 2002 at home.
He was employed at Knight Settlement Sand & Gravel.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Pruden of Campbell; a son, 
Daniel Pruden of Bath; three daughters, Pamela Pruden of 
Campbell, Karin Lewis of Painted Post, and Jami Pruden of 
Corning; four brothers, Raymond Pruden and Leonard Pruden, 
both of Campbell, Donald Pruden of Painted Post, and Louis 
Pruden of Venice, Fla.; two sisters, Evelyn Loomis and Shirley 
Corey, both of Campbell.
Calling hours are 6-9 p.m. today and 1-3 p.m. Monday at 
Fagan's Funeral Home, 31 W. Morris St., Bath.
Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of calling 
hours at 3 p.m. Monday at Fagan's Funeral Home, Pastor David 
LeRoy officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Knoll Cemetery, 
Painted Post.
