Cynthia Voelker of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, Jeffery Milroy of 
Geln Ellyn, Ill.; six stepsons, George Berg of Scotia, Richard

Berg, and Joseph Berg, all of Bath; one stepdaughter, 
Katherine Berg of Dekalb, Ill.; two brothers, Donald Milroy of

BIG FLATS | Samuel A. Minier, 77, of Big Flats, died Friday, 
Feb. 22, 2002 after a brief illness.
He had been the fourth-generation owner/proprietor of Minier 
Brothers Inc. in Big Flats.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Neely Minier; two sons, 
Russell Minier of Big Flats and William Minier of Somerville, 
Mass.; two daughters, Elizabeth Dorsch of Greensburg, Pa., and 
Christen Sauer of Erie, Pa.; three stepdaughters, Margaret 
Neely Gray of Westborough, Mass., Carolyn Neely Ainslie of 
Ithaca and Elizabeth Neely Newsome of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister,

LMIRA | Alexander Mislevy Jr., 55, of Middlebury Center, Pa., 
died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002 at Arnot Ogden 
Medical Center.
He retired from Corning Inc. as a senior mechanical engineer, 
where he worked on worldwide projects for 34 years.
Survivors include his mother, Julia Macijowsky Mislevy of 
Factoryville, Pa.; two brothers, Dr. Paul Mislevy of Wauchula, 
Fla., and Joseph Mislevy of Lake Winola, Pa.

unexpectedly Friday, May 31, 2002 at the Lakeside Memorial 
Hospital.
He had been employed by Frontier Telephone of Rochester as an 
Internet Technician.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer; a daughter, Jessica 
Mizzoni of Brockport; a son, Nicholas Mizzoni III of 
Charleston Air Force Base, S.C.; his father, Nicholas Mizzoni 
Sr. of Corning; a sister, Carmen Mizzoni of Florida; a 
brother, Thomas Mizzoni of Canandaigua.

She was employed as a fancy stitcher for the P.W. Minor Shoe 
Factory in Batavia for 29 years. She was also employed as a 
Home Health Aide in Hornell.
Survivors include a daughter, Ramond Allen of Wellsville; a 
stepson, John Moses of Dracut, Mass.

She had worked at the Owens-Illinois Glass Co. and the 
Smith-Douglas Company and operated an elderly care home for 
many years.

N.Y., Pete Moxley, Hans Cook, and Kurt Cook, all of Streator, 
Fritz Cook of Manchester, N.H., and Jeffrey L. Moxley of

Leon B.  Nash 
BATH | Leon B. "Ben" Nash, 77, of 2881 County Route 70-A, 
Fremont, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002 at the Taylor Health Care 
Facility.
He had owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Fremont 
for several years and also had worked as a heavy equipment 
operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers in 
Rochester.
Survivors include 11 stepsons and four stepdaughters.
Calling hours are 7-8 p.m. Saturday at the Bender-Brown & 
Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell.
A memorial service will be held there at the conclusion of 
calling hours at 8 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Hope 
Cemetery, Hornell.



Benjamin A.  Naylor
MANSFIELD, Pa. | Benjamin A. Naylor, 79, of Mansfield, died 
Saturday, July 27, 2002 at the Broad Acres Health and 
Rehabilitation Center.
He was a retired employee of Penelec.
Survivors include two daughters, Phillis Ditch of Lexington, 
S.C., and Connie Brass of Lyons, N.Y.; a son, Terry Naylor of 
Syracuse, N.Y.; two sisters, Edith Campbell of Oakland, Fla. 
and Martha Hummel of Lakeland, Fla.
Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Jacquelyn A. 
Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, Mansfield.
Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours 
Monday.
Burial will be in the Tioga County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.



Jason Michael  Naylor 
DUNDEE | Jason Michael "Buck" Naylor, 26, of Dundee died 
accidentally in a car fire at his home Saturday, May 25, 2002.
Survivors include his parents, Mike and Debbie Naylor of 
Dundee; brother Noah J. Naylor, attending Pittsburge Art 
Institute. 
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Baird 
Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. 
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hillside 
Cemetery, Route 14A. 



Edwin D.  Nearing 
CARLISLE, PA. | Edwin DeForest Nearing of Newville, formerly 
of Long Eddy, N.Y., and Painted Post, N.Y., died Tuesday, July 
2, 2002 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
He had been a New York State Police senior investigator in the 
Bureau of Criminal Investigation for more than 20 years. He 
had also been a Schuyler County legislator for 10 years and 
chaplain of the New York State Department of Corrections for 
five years. He was also an ordained Baptist minister and 
served in Charlotteville, N.Y., and West Oneonta, N.Y.
Survivors include one daughter, Marcia J. Sipkovitz of 
Newville; one son, Timothy J. Nearing of Arlington, Texas; one 
sister, Virginia Ives of Schenectady, N.Y.; two brothers, Gene 
R. Nearing and John R. Nearing, both of Binghamton, N.Y.
Calling hours are 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Henderson-Biedekapp 
Funeral Chapel, Hancock, N.Y.
Services will be held at noon Monday at the French Wods 
Community Church, French Woods, N.Y., the Revs. Paul Mychak 
and John Bedzyk officiating. Burial will be in Halsey 
Cemetery, Long Eddy, N.Y.



Robert W. Nesbit
NORTH HORNELL | Robert W. Nesbit, 76, formerly of Angel Road, 
Cameron, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002 at the McAuley Manor 
Nursing Home after an extended illness.
He and his wife owned and operated the Belfast Blaze newspaper 
and Nesbit's Market. He also served as the Town of Cameron 
assessor and worked at Dresser Rand in Painted Post. 
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Louise Nesbit; 
one son, Robert James Nesbit of Carlisle, Pa.; two daughters, 
Elizabeth A. Nesbit of Swannanoa, N.C. and Eunice L. Prickett 
of Jasper, Ind.; one brother, Burton Nesbit of Hornell.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cameron 
Ambulance Corps building.

Howard L. Nichols
CORNING | Howard L. Nichols, 88, of Bath, died Friday, Sept. 
6, 2002 at Corning Hospital.
He worked as a technician for Suburban Propane before retiring 
after more than 40 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth "Bettelou" Miller 
of Campbell, Sharon Clark of Beaver Dams, Lois Noble of 
Anchorage, Alaska; a son, Philip Nichols of Glendale, Ariz.; 
three brothers, Leighton Nichols of Council Grove, Kan., 
Richard Nichols of San Jose, Calif., Robert Nichols of Mt. 
Clemens Township, Mich.

ELMIRA | Beatrice N. Nichols, 85, died Thursday, June 27, 2002 
at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
Survivors include her sons Bruce Morrison of Missouri, Frank 
Leonard of Syracuse, and Douglas Nichols of Liverpool; 
daughters Linda Quinn of Corning, Kay Morrison of Rome, Diane 
Richardson of Mississippi, and Patricia Jesson of New 
Hampshire.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FLA. | Virginia Eleanor Morrell Nichols, 76, of 
Zephyrhills, formerly of Elmira Heights, N.Y., died Friday, 
March 1, 2002.
She was a retired secretary with the Elmira Heights School 
District.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Howard R. Nichols; 
two sons, David B. Nichols of Elmira, N.Y., and John Nichols 
of Wirtz, Va.; two daughters, Rosemary Semians of Zephyrhills 
and Betty Pettis of Erin, N.Y.
