Monday, March 25, 2002 at Corning Hospital.
He was an auto mechanic with Sparlings Northside Esso, Austins

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Janet McKerrow; two 
sons, Mark McKerrow of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Michael McKerrow of 
Corning; one sister, Winifred Lyons of Stanford, Ariz.
Services will be held at 
11 a.m. Friday at the South Corning United Methodist Church, 
Caton Road, the Rev. Judy White officiating.

HORSEHEADS | Charlote G. McKibbin, 91, of Erin, died Saturday, 
Sept. 14, 2002 at Elcor Health Services Center in Horseheads.
Survivors include five sons, Robert McKibbin of Spencer, 
Russell McKibbin of Montour Falls, Kenneth McKibbin of Erin, 
Donald McKibbin of North Carolina, Richard McKibbin of 
Horseheads; a sister Helen Weller of Horseheads.

PAINTED POST | Dixie Mae McMillen, 87, formerly of Hanwell 
Village, Corning, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002 at The Waters of 
Three Rivers Health Care.
She had worked for Curtiss Wright Aircraft Co. in Buffalo, 
Bell Aircraft Co., Remington Rand in Elmira, J.C. Penney Co. 
Inc. in the Arnot Mall, Big Flats and had been the owner of 
the Sunshine Laundry Center in Corning retiring after many 
years of service.
Survivors include a sister, Helen Hull.
Calling hours are 2-4 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 
W. Pulteney St., Corning.
Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours 
at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Scotchtown Cemetery, 
Erin.

Sunderlin-ville, and Arlen McPherson of West Pike; a brother, 
Larry McPherson of Irmo, S.C.; and two sisters, Juanita Clay 
of Burnsville, W.Va., and Vanzil Lowther of Massillon, Ohio.

GALETON PA. | Susan L. Mechanye, 47, of Galeton, died 
Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, in the Cole Memorial Hospital, 
Coudersport.
She was an employee of the Bradford Nursing Home.
Survivors include, her husband, Charles Mechanye of Galeton; 
two sons, Victor Mechanye, Camp Lejuene N.C., and Jonathan 
Mechanye of Addison; two brothers, Michael Farley of Pineville 
WVa., and Henry Farley of Wellsville, N.Y.; two sisters, Kathy 
Luce of Genesee and Teresa Farley of Mansfield.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the Genesee Cemetery, the 
Rev. William McNeil officiating.
Elizabeth S.  Meck 
PLATTSBURG, MO. | Elizabeth S. "Betty" Meck, 85, of 1 Seventh 
St., Canisteo, N.Y., died Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at the 
Clinton Care and Rehab Center.
She had been a school teacher at Livingston Manor Central 
School, Mt. Morris Central School and Canisteo Central School. 
She retired in 1972.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Mark J. Meck; a 
son, Christopher (Kit) Meck of Kansas City, Mo.
There will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are 
by H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Canisteo.

NORTH HORNELL | F. Pearl Meese, 86, of Lakeview Apartments, 
105 Geneva St., Bath, died Thursday, April 11, 2002 at McAuley 
Manor.
Survivors include two sons, Lanny Meese of Avoca and Paul 
Meese of Bath; a foster son, Darrell Gardner of Avoca; four 
daughters, Alda Gardner of Titusville, Fla., Joyce Hill and 
LaVonne Zeltwagner both of Avoca and Beverly Belanger of 
Wallace; a brother, Paul Riley of Long Bottom, Ohio.

COHOCTON | Ronald A. Meese, 72, died Saturday, July 20, 2002.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Meese of Cohocton; two

CHARLOTTE, N.C. | David R. Mele, 51, of Round Rock, Texas, and 
formerly of Elmira, N.Y., died Thursday, March 7, 2002, in 
Charlotte.
He was district manager for Jim Walters Homes and, at the time 
of his death, was working out of the Charlotte area.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Groves Mele of Round Rock, 
Texas; two sisters, Theresa A. Hughes of Columbia, Md., and 
Mary C. Wheaton of Deltona, Fla.; three brothers, Nicholas J. 
Mele and John H. Mele, both of Elmira, N.Y., and Karl P. Mele 
of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Thursday, May 23, 2002 at home.
She worked for Corning Inc. as a payroll clerk for 45 years.
Survivors include one son, Nicholas T. Merola of Corning; one 
brother, Patrick Cosgrove; one sister, Clara Stevens.

Wednesday, April 10, 2002.

Church, Corning. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Painted 
Post.

PENN YAN | Daniel Y. Mertz, 70, of Witcus Road, Cameron Mills, 
died Friday, July 19, 2002 at The Homestead in Penn Yan.
He was a retired truck driver for West Motor Freight in 
Boyertown, Pa. and a stock farmer in Cameron Mills.
Survivors include two brothers, Oscar Mertz of Pennsylvania, 
Carl Mertz Jr. of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Anna Dierolf of 
Pennsylvania, Bertha Kratz Pennsylvania.

WELLSBORO, PA. | Mary R. Metcalf, 78, of Harrison Valley, died 
Sunday Sept. 8, 2002 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital 
in Wellsboro.
She owned and operated Mary's Grocery and Harrison Valley, 
worked at Galeton Production, was a nurse's aide at Highland 
Nursing Home in Wellsville, N.Y., and an LPN at Cole Memorial 
Hospital in Coudersport for 22 years.
Survivors include two sons; John Metcalf of Westfield, Randy 
Metcalf of Westfield; two sisters, Gertrude Napier of 
Randolph, N.Y., Dorothy Flaitz of Hornell, N.Y.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Benjamin R. 
Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses.

LMIRA | Robert I. Mickel, 89, of Villa Serene, Elmira Heights, 
formerly of Horseheads, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at the 
Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
He had been a supervisor at the Agway Plant in Big Flats. He 
and his wife, Estella, also owned and operated Pinewoods 
Campgrounds for many years.
Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Jo Strong of Horseheads; 
one brother, Ralph Mickel of Shippensburg, Pa.; two sisters, 
Alice Osborne of Pennsylvania and Verna Bush of Bellwood, Pa.

She had been a supervisor for the New York Telephone Company.

NELSON, Pa. | Theodore Edward Miles, 79, of 27 Beechers 
Square, formerly of Genesee, died Friday, May 3, 2002 at home.
He retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Army & Navy 
and also he had worked for many years for Lunn's Lumber in 
Wellsville, N.Y.
Survivors include his wife Gertrude Miles; four daughters, 
Laurie Miles of Westfield, Arlene White of Orlando, Fla., 
Denise Saterlee of Presho, N.Y., Tammy Horton of 
Lawrencevillle and Karon Lockhart of Brevard, N.C.; a son, 
Charles Tripp of N.C.; two brothers, Willard Miles of Broken 
Arrow, Okla. and Donald Miles of Elkland.

He retired from Corning Inc. in 1981.

the work study program at Alfred State College where she was a 
student.

father, J. George Miller of Rochester; a brother, Michael 
Miller of Rochester.

He had been a truck driver for Livingston County.

daughters, Lorna Rader and Bonnie Hall, both of Avoca, Sandra 
Miller of Mt. Morris and Dawn Youngs of Elmira.

He retired from Coverall Service and Supply in Elmira.

California; two sisters, Margaret Lowman of Himrod and Betty 
Randall of Arizona.

in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira.

Feb. 20, 2002 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital.
She had been a housekeeper for several local families.

one sister, Helen Miles of Inlet.

2002 at his home.
He was an electrician with Bennett Construction.

after 25 years of service.

three sons, Gerald D. Miller Jr. of Tulsa, Okla., Carmen E. 
Miller of Las Vegas, Nev. and James P. Miller of Corning, 
N.Y.; three sisters, Josephine Nelson of Painted Post, Teresa 
Gleason and Anna Miller, both of Corning, N.Y.

She had been a housewife.

Fortescue, N.J. and Mike Miller of Trevose; six daughters, 
Marion Hughes of Wellsboro, Lorraine Nahill and Elaine Ott, 
both Sarasota, Fla., Patricia Bridges of Hatboro, Gloria 
Martini of Bensalem and Diana Campbell of Tioga.
A private memorial service was held at Tussey-Mosher Funeral
