Cecil Swank Jr. of Mt. Jewett and Larry Swank of 
Montoursville; three step-daughters, Eileen Stilson of Gold 
Pa., Terri Thompson of Ulysses and Tammy Frake of Mt. Holly 
NJ; two brothers, Almon Freer of Crosby and Gilbert Freer of 
Hastings, Fla.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Olney Funeral 
Home, Ulysses. The Rev. Benjamin R. Olney officiating. 
Burial will be in the Ulysses Cemetery.



Kenneth J.  French 
ELMIRA | Kenneth J. French, 67, of Horseheads, died Thursday, 
Aug. 22, 2002 unexpectedly at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
He was a retired tool & die maker.
Survivors include his wife, Jane French of Horseheads, a son, 
Larry French of Fayette, N.C; three daughters, Sue O'Bryan of 
Hagerstown, Md., Lisa Ginger of Simpsonville, S.C., Amy French 
of Ithaca; four brothers, Robert French of Chatham, George 
French of Beaver Dams, Jim French and Richard French, both of 
Port Angeles, Wash.; three sisters, Sara Binaxas of Syracuse, 
Ann Wood of Weedsport and Geraldine Ewing of Syracuse.

MARCELLUS | Roger J. Friske, 64, of Marcellus, died Thursday, 
May 16, 2002 at home.
He had been a school teacher for the Marcellus Central 
Schools.

East, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Cole Memorial Hospital.

Rocky Hill, Conn.; four brothers, Robert Usher Jr. of

Va.; two sisters, Pauline Goelz of Wheatland, Wyo. and Shirley

He retired from Taylor-Wharton in Easton and also worked for 
the Wellsboro Gazette delivering papers.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Wilma Fry; a son, 
Gordon Fry of Bethlehem; two daughters, Gayle Hall of Emmaus 
and Janice Baer of Allentown; two stepsons, Larry Seip of 
Hawaii and Randy Seip of Troy, Ill.; three stepdaughters, 
Diane Thomas of Little Gap, Beverlee Shultz of Easton and 
Alice Stephens of Allentown; a brother, Charles Fry; three 
sisters, Margaret, Janet and Georgine.

Bethlehem Memorial Park, Bethlehem, the Rev. Maria Spada

MONTOUR FALLS | Roger H. Fulkerson 85, of Dundee, died Sunday, 
Sept. 15, 2002 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility.
He had been a self-employed fruit farmer, specializing in 
black raspberries.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Harlan Fulkerson of Burdett 
and Sayre M. Fulkerson of Dundee; a brother Donald Fulkerson 
of Seneca Falls; a sister Helen Alexander of Penn Yan.

LINDLEY | Loretta Mae Fulkerson, 69, of Glendenning Creek 
Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002 at home.
She owned and operated Loretta's Beauty shop in Painted Post 
for 30 years also she was a salesperson for Tallman's 
Department Store in Painted Post retiring in 1998.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Miles Fulkerson; a 
son, Ronald Fulkerson of Corning; a daughter, Yvonne Cooley of 
Painted Post; her mother, Lavina Young of Norwood, Pa.; two 
brothers, Edward Young of Prospect Park , Pa., and Arthur 
Young of Biloxie Miss.; four sisters, Helen Cline of New 
Castle, Del., Carole Young of Norwood, Pa, Ida DiMaio of 
Millville, Del., and Mary Montieth of Prospect Park, Pa.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. 
Catherine's Church, Addison. Burial will be in Memorial

formerly of Ulysses, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 at home.
She had been a homemaker.

Painted Post, died Thursday, May 30, 2002 at Ellis Hospital.
He had worked for Corning Inc. as an engineer/draftsman, 
retiring in 1984 with 33 years of active service.
Survivors include two daughters, Christina George of Cranberry 
Township, Pa. and Mariana Gallo of Arlington, Va.; two sons, 
Michele Gallo of Georgetown, Texas, and Dominic Gallo Jr. of 
Schenectady; a sister, Eleanor Campbell of Highland, Calif.; 
three brothers, Angelo Gallo of Tontana, Calif., Anthony Gallo 
of Salamanca and Ralph Gallo of Warren, Pa.

BRANDON, FLA. | Ivan Allen Gamet, 93 of Brandon died Tuesday, 
Feb. 19, 2002.
He had been owner/operator of Mobile Home Park.
Survivors include three sons, Ivan Gamet Jr. of Wildwood, Carl 
Gamet of Bath, N.Y., and David Gamet of Belleview; two 
daughters, Elizabeth Williams of Bath, N.Y., and Jane 
Gamet-Daugherty of Greenville, S.C.

He had been a heavy equipment operator for the Operating 
Engineers Union of Rochester.

He had been employed for 41 years at Sears before he retired 
as a senior sales manager.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for Thatcher Glass 
Manufacturing Company for 34 years.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marion Jean Garrison;

PAINTED POST | Norma I. Giambrone, 81, formerly of Day Spring 
II, Corning, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at The Waters of 
Three Rivers.
She had worked at the Athens Hotel and Restaurant in Corning 
and retired from Corning Inc. as an inspector in 1979 after 35 
years of service.
Survivors include three daughters, Kimberly Vang of Mt. Joy, 
Pa., Angela Dutcher of Painted Post and Barbara Pierotti of 
Corning.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at the family's convenience.

Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at home.
He had been a patrolman for about 27 years with the Hornell 
Police Department retiring in 1986. He was also was a security 
guard for M-K Corp. in Hornell.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Murphy Gibbs; two 
daughters, Bridget Vinci and Mary Ann Gibbs, both of Webster; 
two sons, John Gibbs and Donald Gibbs both of Hornell; two 
brothers, Abbot Gabriel Gills of Still River, Mass., and James

Gilliam of Warren, N.J.; a daughter, Shirella Leipold of 
Fogelsville, Pa.

Lawrence P. Gleason
CROWN POINT | Lawrence P. "Larry" Gleason, 28, of 7152 Hyland 
Drive, Hornell, died Monday Feb. 2, 2002 from injuries 
sustained from a gunshot wound while responding to a domestic 
disturbance call while serving with the New York State 
Troopers.
He had been a New York State Trooper in Crown Point.
Survivors include his parents, Larry and Rosemary Stone 
Gleason; two sisters, Shannon Kuhn of Clifton Park and Tracy 
Gleason of Binghamton.
Calling hours are 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. 
Friday at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at 
St. Ann's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.



Paul G. Gleason
BATH | Paul G. Gleason, of 39 Rumsey St., died Tuesday, Sept. 
3, 2002 at the Bath Veterans Administration.
He was retired from Jones Lumber Yard.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Kryman of Batavia, 
Susan Thompson of Bath and Paula Dye of Avoca; two sisters, 
Alice Gleason of Bath and Dorothy Shumway of Wellsboro, Pa.; a 
brother, Donald Gleason of Bath.
Calling hours are 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. today at Fagan's Funeral 
Home, 31 W. Morris St., Bath.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bath United 
Methodist Church. Burial will be in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath.



Darryl W.  Gleason 
ELMIRA | Darryl W. Gleason, 50 of Lenox Ave., Elmira Heights, 
died Monday, July 15, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He had been employed by RKB in Elmira for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah McCann Gleason; his 
mother, Jesse Gleason Allen of Horseheads; two sons, Jason 
Gleason of Wellsburg and Shawn Gleason of Elmira; a daughter, 
Faith Gleason of Elmira; a stepson, Terry Babcock of Elmira; a 
brother, Harvey L. Gleason Jr. of Horseheads; his stepmother, 
Florence Gleason of Wellsburg.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Ballard & 
Lindgren Funeral Home.
Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours 
at 8 p.m. Friday.



Henry H.  Glenn Jr.
PRATTSBURGH | Henry Howell Glenn Jr., 67, of 11010 County 
Route 78, died Saturday, March 16, 2002 at home.
He retired from General Railway Signal.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; a daughter, Helen Minn's; 
a son, Henry H. Glenn III.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the 
Greater Grace Church, Pulteney.

David O.  Glick 
ELMIRA | David O. Glick, 80, of Avoca, died Friday, June 7, 
2002 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center
He was a retired employee of the Bath Veterans Administration 
Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Inge Glick of Bath; three 
daughters, Luise Brockway of Bath, Deborah Crooks of Avoca, 
and Gisela Marvin of North Carolina; one son, Daniel Glick of 
Massachusetts; one sister, Mary Jane Glick of corning; three 
brothers, John Glick Jr. of Monterey, Samuel Glick of 
Prattsburgh, and Arthur Glick of Seminole, Fla.
Services will be held Tuesday in the Union Chapel of the Bath 
VA Medical Center. Burial will be in the Bath National 
Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Fagan's Funeral Home.



Hannah G.  Glover
WESTFIELD, PA. | Hannah Grace Glover, newborn daughter of 
David and Johnna Brown Glover, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, 
shortly after her birth.
Survivors include her parents, formerly of Hornell, N.Y.; two 
sisters, Kelsey Glover and Emma Glover, both of Westfield; a 
brother, Tyler, of Westfield; maternal grandfather John Brown 
of Mississippi.

OLD, PA. | May E. Goodenough, 91, of Gold, died Sunday, Feb. 
3, 2002 at home.
She owned and operated a farm with her husband for 16 years 
and ran the Gold Store for 13 years. She also served as the 
Ulysses Township tax collector for 24 years.
Survivors include two sons, James N. Goodenough of Thomasville 
and Neal L. Goodenough of Ontario, NY; a daughter, Lois 
Hendershot of Collegeville.

R. Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses. 
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Gold Church, 
the Rev. Dr. Richard G. Kirk officiating. Burial will be in

James A.  Goodreau
COUDERSPORT, PA. | James A. Goodreau, 64, of Coudersport, died 
Sunday, March 3, 2002 at the Cole Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include two brothers, Richard C. Goodreau of Gaines 
and Robert Goodreau of Palo Alta, Calif.; a sister, Sandra 
Schoonover of Coudersport.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in West Hill 
Cemetery, Galeton. Arrangements are by Collins-Olney Funeral

Edward J. Goodwin
ELMIRA | Edward J. "Joe" Goodwin, 61, of Hendy Creek Road, 
Pine City, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at St. Joseph's 
Hospital.
He had worked for National Homes as a mechanic for many years.
Survivors include his former wife, Connie Grafius Boisselle; a 
son, Daniel Goodwin of Southport; three brothers, Larry 
Goodwin of Elmira, Jerry Goodwin and Don Goodwin, both of 
Missouri; three sisters, Bobbi Metcalf of Washington, Betty 
Frady of Texas and Denise Gast of Missouri.

CAMERON | Milton C. Goodwin, 83, of County Route 119, Cameron, 
died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at his home.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he retired as a mechanic and 
truck driver for the Kleen Brite Chemical Co. of Rochester.
Survivors include three sons, Milton Goodwin Jr. of Wayland, 
Robert Goodwin of Hilton and Jerry Goodwin of Rochester; a 
brother, Otto Goodwin of Arkport.
Graveside services will be held in Rural Cemetery in Hornell 
at the convenience of the family.

ELMIRA | Stanley W. Gorsky, 77, formerly of Rodaha Drive, 
Corning, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002 at Chemung County 
Nursing Facility.
He was retired from Corning Inc. after 35 years of service.
Survivors include two daughters, Stacey Hoover of Corning and 
Mary Hill of Painted Post; a sister, Johanna Gorsky of Savona.
