HORNELL | Francis T. "Deve" DiVincenzo, 75, of 81 Washington 
St., died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002 at home.
He was employed by the former Erie, Erie-Lackawanna Railroads, 
retiring from Conrail as a dispatcher with 45 years of 
service.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary K. Carafice of 
Falconer, Joan Doty of Wayland, Margaret DiVincenzo Flohr of 
Fairfax, Va., and Angela DiVincenzo of Northampton, Mass.; one 
son, John DiVincenzo of Livonia; one sister, Dolores Scura of 
Mt. Morris.

ELMIRA | David H. Dixon Jr., 83, of Elmira and Ft. Myers, 
Fla., died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 at home after an extended 
illness.
He had been a laborer for Corning Building Co.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Randall of Elmira, 
Vicki Cunningham of Corning, and Helen Beller of Ft. Myers, 
Fla.; one son, David Dixon of Elmira; one sister, Claramae 
Campbell of Painted Post; three brothers, Chet Dixon of 
Florida, Leland Dixon of Pennsylvania, and Glen Dixon of 
Hornell.

ELMIRA | Jean M. Doan, 77, of South Broadway, Wellsburg, died 
Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She had worked for the Elmira School District teaching at 
Diven and Parley Coburn for more than 20 years.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Herb Doan; two 
sons, James Vondracek of Pine City and Thomas Vondracek of 
Hornell; three daughters, Cheryl Mattison and Maryann Dean 
both of Elmira and Stephanie Brooks of Ohatchee, Ala.; two 
stepsons, Tom Doan of Umatilla, Fla., and Larry Doan of 
Columbia Cross Roads, Pa.; three stepdaughters, Louise Cooper 
of Montour Falls, Cathy Hall of Greensboro, N.C., and Roxie 
Doan of Odessa.

Neil G. Dobson 
CORNING | Neil G. Dobson, 59, of Taft Road, Painted Post, died 
Sunday, March 24, 2002 at Corning Hospital.
He served as a helicopter crew chief with the U.S. Army during 
the Vietnam War and worked in trucking for the Howard Delivery 
Company before retiring in 1998.
Survivors include, his wife Dawn Dobson of Painted Post; two 
daughters, Belinda Dobson and Melissa Dobson; a son, Jason 
Dobson; three sisters, Glenda Merrill, Karen Dobson and Nancy 
Congdon; three brothers, Olin Dobson, Carl Dobson and Brian 
Dobson.

HORNELL | Vivian J. Dodge, 76, of 980 State Route 21, died 
Sunday, April 28, 2002 at St. James Mercy Hospital.
Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Gorsline of 
Kingston, Connie Houghtaling and Pam Karns, both of Arkport; 
three sons, Bryan Dodge, Joel Dodge, both of Arkport and Mark 
Dodge of Hornell.

ELMIRA | Charles G. Dodge, 75, of 85 Belaire Dr., Horseheads, 
formerly of Corning died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002 at Arnot 
Ogden Hospital.
He had worked for New York Central Railroad as a dispatcher in 
Corning and also worked at the United States Postal Department 
in Corning, retiring in 1988.
Survivor include his wife of 57 years, Lillian Dodge; a 
brother, Emory; two sisters, Georgia and Mary.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Haughey Funeral Home,

CORNING | James V. Dominick Jr., 70, of 33 Baldwin Ave., 
Addison, died Thursday, June 6, 2002 at Corning Hospital after 
an extended illness.
He was a journeyman carpenter and worked in the trades at 
Corning Inc. for 45 years.
Survivors include his wife, Anna E. Wolverton Dominick; four 
sons, Robert Dominick of Addison, James Dominick III of Miami, 
Fla., William Dominick of Addison and Christopher Dominick of 
Corning; a foster son, Joseph Frank of Nicholson, Pa.; a 
sister, Lucille Royer of Addison; two brothers, Andrew 
Dominick of Painted Post and John Hiser of Wintersville, Ohio.

ELKLAND, PA. | Dr. Eleanor Larson Donley, 97, of 217 W. Main 
St. died Saturday, April 13, 2002 at home after a long 
illness.
She practiced medicine for 64 years until her retirement at 
age 91.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Holland of Watkins 
Glen, N.Y. and Nancy Singleton of Warren.

DAVENPORT, FLA. | Donald E. Donner, 72, of Haines City, died 
Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 in Davenport. 
A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, he was the former 
owner of the Grand Canyon Motel and Restaurant in Wellsboro, 
Pa.
Survivors include three daughters, Pamela J. Ingerick, Rena M. 
Kjelgaard and Debbie Topf, all of Wellsboro, Pa.; one sister, 
Judy Wilkins of Lineville, Ala.; one brother, Frank Donner of 
Florida; a half-brother, Robert Donner; a half-sister, 
Marjorie Donner.

He was a retired plumber and heating contractor.

member of the Corning V.F.W.

ITHACA | William D. Eaton, 73, of Ithaca, died Saturday, Aug. 
3, 2002 at Cayuga Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Patricia Moore Eaton; 
three brothers, Richard Eaton of San Francisco, Calif., Robert 
Eaton of Geneseo and Nelson Eaton of Avoca; two sisters, Mary 
Eaton and Patricia Eaton both of Bath.
Calling hours are 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the Royce-Chedzoy 
Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen.
Services will be held there at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. John 
Satero officiating. Burial will be in Tyrone Union Cemetery.



Sharon K.  Ebel
CORNING | Sharon K. (Doud) Ebel, 62, of Painted Post died 
Friday, March 8, 2002, at Corning Hospital.
She retired from Corning Inc., where she worked as an 
insurance adjuster.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Ebel; a daughter, Holly 
Doud of Wellsboro, Pa.; two sons, Stephen Doud of Elmira and 
Scott Doud of Philadelphia, Pa.; her mother, Onalea Kelly.
Calling hours are 2-4 p.m. Tuesday at Carpenter's Funeral 
Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning.
Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours 
at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Coopers Cemetery.



Robert N.  Edney 
ELMIRA | Robert N. Edney, 65, of Overlook Drive, Horseheads, 
died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
He worked in the maintenance department at Bethany Village.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Carol Ann Wolcott 
Edney; a son, Robert Edney of Trappe, Pa.; a daughter, Mary 
Lyn Edney of Horseheads; a stepson, Brian Manion of 
Horseheads; three sisters, Elizabeth Nanovic of North 
Yarmouth, Maine; Isabel Hewitt of Monroe and Cynthia Holmes of 
East Meadow.
Calling hours are 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Barber Funeral Home, 
413 S. Main St.
Service will be held there at 10 a.m. Monday, the Revs. Donald 
Knapp and Lew Baker officiating. 
Burial will be in Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira.



Robert N.  Edney 
ELMIRA | Robert N. Edney, 65, of Overlook Drive, Horseheads, 
died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at the Arnot Ogden Medical 
Center after an extended illness.
He had worked in the maintenance department at Bethany Village 
in Horseheads. He had also worked as an electrical engineer 
for Hughes Aircraft Co. in Los Angeles, Calif., Personius, 
Wadsworth, Molter Consulting Engineers in Horseheads, New York 
State Electric and Gas in Johnson City, Brady Supply in 
Horseheads, and Campbell Design Group in Horseheads. He was 
also a consultant for Fagan Engineering in Big Flats.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Carol Ann Wolcott 
Edney; one son, Robert Edney of Trappe, Pa.; one daughter, 
Mary Lyn Edney of Horseheads; stepson, Brian Manion of 
Horseheads; three sisters, Elizabeth Nanovic of North

of East Meadow.

Elinor D. Edwards 
CORNING | Elinor D. Edwards, 87, of 204 E. Steuben St., Bath, 
died Friday, April 26, 2002 at Corning Hospital.
She worked as a cook, meat cutter, and cashier at IGA and 
Acme. She was also a reflexologist.
Survivors include one daugther, Elizabeth VanGelder of Bath.
Calling hours are 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at 
the Seager-Jones Funeral Home, 4 E. Washington St., Bath. 
Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours 
at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath.



Lawrence M.  Egleston
ELKLAND, PA. | Lawrence M. "Mike" Egleston, 84 of RR 1, died 
Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002 at home.
He had worked for the Elkland Leather Company for 38 years and 
was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Berneece Swarthout 
Egleston; a daughter, Helen Dornsife of Randolph, N.Y.; a son, 
Michael Egleston of Elkland.
Calling hours are 7-9 p.m., today at Kenyon Funeral Home Inc., 
214 W. Main St., Elkland.
Services will be held there at 2 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Robert 
Ford officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery,

Patricia P.  Eicher 
SYRACUSE | Patricia P. "Pat" Eicher, 48, of Imperial Avenue, 
Painted Post, died Monday, March 11, 2002.
She had worked as a nurse for 17 years at the Bath VA Medical 
Center.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Joseph Eicher; a 
daughter, Amy Eicher at home; two sons, Joseph J. Eicher of 
Buffalo and Todd Eicher of Painted Post; her mother, Thelma 
"Tolly" Pelych of Hornell; a sister, Kathy Green of Hornell; 
two brothers, Michael Pelych and Joseph Pelych both of 
Hornell.

Home, 216 E. First St., Corning.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at 
Immaculate Heart of Mary's Church, Painted Post. Burial will

CORNING | Josephine E. Eilers, 79, of Corning, died Friday, 
May 10, 2002 at Corning Hospital.
Survivors include a son Carl Eilers of Savona; two daughters, 
Ellen Eilers of Corning, Louise Magner of Albany; three 
brothers, Daryl Whitney of Susquehanna, Pa., Brice Whitney of 
New Milford, Pa., Gyle Whitney of Lebanon, Pa.; two sisters, 
Betty Seamans of New Milford, Pa., Beryl Haley of New Milford, 
Pa.
