HORNELL | Robert R. “Bob” Rohan, 82, of 35 Pine St., Hornell, 
died Friday, April 5, 2002, at St. James Mercy Hospital.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was 
employed for many years at the former Erie, Erie-Lackawanna 
railroads, retiring as a fireman with Conrail.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Cullen Rohan; a son, 
Michael Rohan of Rochester; two daughters, Elizabeth Pelych 
and Joanne Hogan, both of Hornell.

2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church 
St., Hornell. 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at 
St. Ignatius Loyola Church. Burial will be in the VA National 
Cemetery in Bath.

TIOGA, PA. | Harold C. Rose, of Tioga died Thursday, Feb. 28, 
2002 at home.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jane Edgerton of 
Mansfield and Jean Foster of Tioga.

Road, died unexpectedly Monday, April 1, 2002 at home.
He was a student at Corning West High School.
Survivors include, his parents, Elizabeth Boyle Ross Reed and 
Leon Reed of Painted Post; a sister, Jennifer Ross of 
Lakeland, Texas; a brother, Matthew Ross of Painted Post.

years.
Survivors include her husband, Luigi Rossi; two sons, Vincent 
of Miami, Fla. and Paul of Corning; a daughter, Mary Kathryn 
of Wilmington, Del.; her mother, Vincenzina Ferraro of Painted 
Post; a brother, Niel Ferraro of Virginia.

Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002 at Corning Hospital.
She had worked for the Ryan Loan Co. of Corning and also was a 
homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, James W. Rotsell 
Sr. of Corning; a son, Michael Rotsell of Painted Post.

formerly of Wellsboro, Pa., died Friday, May 31, 2002 at Arnot 
Ogden Hospital.
He had been employed by the Town of Prattsburgh.
Survivors include five brothers, Raymond Rouse of Melbourne, 
Fla., James Rouse of Wellsboro, Pa., Leland Rouse, Vernon 
Rouse and Clyde E. Rouse all of Little Marsh, Pa.; four 
sisters, Patty L. Rouse of Wellsboro, Pa, Thelma Wollmann of 
Mansfield, Pa., Ruth A. Preble of Tennessee and Lorraine 
Stermer of Tioga, Pa.

WESTFIELD, PA. | Aileen H. Rugaber, 92, of Westfield, died 
Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at Wheaton’s Personal Care Home.
She and her husband, Arthur R. Rugaber, owned and operated a 
furniture business in Westfield until they retired in 1949.
Survivors include a son, Robert Rugaber of Butler; a daughter, 
Miriam R. Trowbridge of Clearmont, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. 
John’s Episcopal Church, Westfield. Burial will be in 
Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville.

He had worked for Conrail Railroad as a brakeman, retiring in 
1990.

of York, Pa, died Thursday, April 11, 2002 at Johns Hopkins 
University Hospital.
She had been director of Manufacturing Strategy and Planning 
for Corning, Inc. in Elmira, N.Y. and also plant manager of 
various Corning Inc. plants in New York, Pennsylvania and 
Ohio.
Survivors include her parents, Dr. Leo and June Nadeau 
Samelson of York, Pa.; a brother, Jonathan E. Samelson of 
Philadelphia; a sister, Dr. Roberta S. Bracken of Charlotte,

He had owned and operated his farm for nearly 64 years.

Arthur Schwab in Fair Oaks, Calif.

Painted Post; four sons, Arthur Scott, Myron Scott, Paul Scott

She had been a teacher in Prattsburgh and a taught a foreign 
language in Troupsburg Central School District. She and her 
husband Gordon, also operated Scott’s Dairy.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Gordon G. Scott; 
two daughters, Diane Miller of Canisteo and Carolyn Cannain of 
Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Robert Scott of Canisteo and 
William Scott of Frankfort, Ky.

He was employed at Westinghouse Corp. in Horseheads as a 
senior electronics engineer and is credited with over 40 
patents.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ardis Dodds Scullin; 
four sons, Michael Scullin of Alpine, Dennis Scullin of Center 
Brunswick, Gary B. Scullin and Jorge Silvera, both of Houston; 
one daughter, Peggy Ellen Maupin of East Greenbush.

Seeley, both of Galeton; two sisters, Bessie Prouty of Ulysses 
and Ella Manning of New Castle, Calif.

CORNING | Roger L. Shautt, 68, of Campbell, died Monday, Feb. 
25, 2002 unexpectedly at Corning Hospital.
He was retired from Lemac Unlimited in Hornell after several 
years in auto body repair.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Betty Shautt of 
Campbell; two sons, Dana Shautt of Alaska and Lon Shautt of 
Georgia.
There will be no calling hours.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements 
are with Carpenter’s Funeral Home.

BATH | Nancy Watkins Sheppard, 40, of 8418 Route 53, Kanona, 
died Friday, April 12, 2002 at Ira Davenport Memorial 
Hospital.

Joseph Bennett of Osceola, Pa.; four sisters, Lela Furher of 
Osceola, Pa., Annette Kio of Westfield, Pa., Phyllis Erb of

Lewis Watkins Jr. of Conway, Ark.; parents, Lewis and Retha 
Watkins Sr. of Knoxville, Pa.; and fiance, David Ahrens of

Personal Care Home, formerly of Addison, N.Y., died Wednesday, 
May 8, 2002 at home.
He was a retired Army First Lieutenant with 25 years of 
service. He also worked for New York State Department of 
Health.
Survivors include a cousin, Richard O’Lenick of Painted Post, 
N.Y.

He had been a therapist aide at Elmira Psychiatric Center.

E. Shores of Pine City; his mother, Rose Cady of Elmira; a

be today at 9 a.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
