Station, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at St. James Hospital.
He had been a design engineer for the New York State 
Department of Transportation in Hornell for 31 years.
Survivors include his wife, Helena Knox Aldrich; three 
daughters, Shelly Kok of South Holland, Ill., Judith Jones of 
Brockport and Jill Giese of Hornell; his mother, Ethelyn 
Aldrich of Alfred Station; two sisters, Alice Bel Aldrich of 
Alfred Station and Frances Reynolds of Spencerport.
Calling hours are 2-5 p.m. Friday at the family residence 5140 
East Valley Road, Alfred Station.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alfred Station 
Seventh Day Baptist Church, the Rev. Thomas J. Kok 
officiating. Burial will be in Alfred Rural Cemetery.

died Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at Corning Hospital.
He had been a retired dairy farmer in Cameron.
Survivors include his wife, Ruea Allen of Woodhull; a 
daughter, Velta Gros Jean of North Miami, Fla.; three sons, 
Arnold Allen of Hornell, Hugh C. Allen of Cameron and LaRue F. 
Allen of Grand Selene, Texas; two stepsons, Donald Rude of 
Woodhull and Karl Rude of Sayre, Pa.; three sisters, Mildred 
Marlatt and Margaret Walrath, both of Jasper, and Eloise 
McCaig of Bath.

HORNELL | Dennis R. Allen, 49, of 595 Clark Road Extension, 
Alfred Station, died Saturday, March 23, 2002 at St. James 
Mercy Hospital in Hornell.
He worked in the heating plant at Alfred State College for 20 
years.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Allen of Alfred Station; a

2002 at Corning Hospital.
He had been affiliated with several businesses in Corning.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Pauline Kies 
Ambrosone; two sons, Michael D. Ambrosone of Corning and Mark 
Ambrosone of Framingham, Mass.; a brother, Joseph Ambrosone of 
Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three sisters, Mary Kelly of Corning, Rose 
McGahan of Framingham, Mass. and Teresa Bothe of Columbus, 
Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. today at 
St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.

LIVERPOOL | Aletha C. Anderson, 93, of Liverpool, formerly of 
Elmira, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002.
She had been an employee of the former Remington Rand Plant.

She had been an inspector at Corning Inc., retiring in 1979 
after 38 years of service.
Survivors include a brother, Carl Anderson of Painted Post.

She was a retired inspector for Corning Glass Works.

He was a bus driver for the Bath Haverling Central School.

two sons, Robert Andrews and Larry Andrews, both of Bath; a 
step-son Richard Shutt of Bath; a step-daughter, Trish Smith 
of Moss Point, Miss.

died Monday, March 11, 2002 at the Steuben County Health Care 
Facility.
She was a homemaker.

Minichello, both of Kanona.

Sunday, March 24, 2002 at home after a short illness.
She had worked for many years as a secretary at the former

two sons, Michael Argentieri of Hornell and David Argentieri

CORNING | Joseph L. “Chic” Bamonti, 85, of 381 W. First St., 
died Friday, May 10, 2002 at home following an extended 
illness.
He was employed with Corning Inc. as a glass mechanic 
supervising the production department.

four daughters, Joann Bamonti of Corning, Mary Walsh of 
Webster, Roberta Hopkins of Rochester, and Margaret Buscaglia 
of Buffalo; one sister, Sally Madigan of Rochester; one

an Army veteran.

Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002 at home.
She had been a math and science teacher for the Northern Tioga 
School District, retiring in 1984.

WELLSBORO, PA. | Anne K. Butler, 89, died Saturday, April 27, 
2002 at the Green Home in Wellsboro.
She was a founding physician of Soldiers and Sailors Memorial 
Hospital in Wellsboro and worked there until retiring in 1984 
She was also medical director at the Green Home until 1992.
Survivors include, a daughter; Ellen B. Kearns of Willingboro, 
N.J.; a son, Terence C. Butler of Athens.

Middlebury Center, died Thursday, March 28, 2002 at home. 
He was a heavy equipment operator and tractor trailer driver.

retiring after 40 years.
