OSWEGO - Frances Marion Brown, 85, a former resident of
144 W. Third St., Oswego, died Feb. 27, 2000 at St. Camillus Health and
Rehabilitation Center, Syracuse. In 1967, she was selected "Woman of the
Year" by the Oswego Business and Professional Women's Club. She was presented
with the Mary Eva Duthrie Award in 1978 for her outstanding service to
community theater and promotion of better community theater production
on a statewide basis. The Frances Marion Brown Theatre, Fort Ontario Park,
was named in her honor in 1988. Surviving are two cousins, Mary Finneran
of Florida and John Clancy of Syracuse. She was predeceased by a brother,

SYRACUSE - Irene J. Tyskievic, 75, of Syracuse, died Feb. 24, 2000 at
home. She is survived by a son, Robert J. Tyson Jr. of Syracuse; three
sisters, Hattie Toman of Brewerton, Helen Rudolf of Michigan, and Virginia
Hayes of Syracuse; a brother, Eddie Fabisiak of DeWitt; three grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
ONEIDA - Althea R. Sears, 76, formerly of 597 Sayles Road, Oneida, died
Feb. 25, 2000 at Stonehedge Nursing Home in Chittenango. She was predeceased
by her husband, Thomas G., in 1984. She is survived by a daughter, Diane
Pliczga of Clinton; five sons, Wayne of Baltimore, Md., Thomas of Oneida
Castle, James of Vernon, David of Central Square, and Donald of Verona;
a sister, Daisy Czyscon of New York Mills; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
WILLIAMSTOWN - Frank G. Lescenski Sr., 81, of 1262 County Route 26,
Williamstown, died Feb. 24, 2000 at Oswego Hospital. He is survived by
his wife, the former Marjorie E. Bulson of Williamstown; two daughters,
Beverly House of Parish and Barbara Lowe of West Monroe; a son, Frank G.
Jr. of West Monroe; a sister, Sylvia Bryant of Williamstown; six grandchildren;
and six great-grandchildren.
FULTON - Mabel M. McDermott, 81, a resident of 204 Hannibal St., Fulton,
died Feb. 27, 2000 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Surviving are
her husband, Richard L. McDermott of Fulton; two sons, Richard McDermott
of Charleston, N.C. and Douglas McDermott of Fulton; one daughter, Patricia
Pardue of Fulton; one brother, Cecil Gardner of California; six grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
LYCOMING - Louise E. Squires, 62, a resident of County Route 29, Lycoming,
died Feb. 26, 2000 at University Hospital, Syracuse. urviving are her husband,
Robert E. Squires of Lycoming; one sister, Marion Augustine of Yorktown;
a stepsister, Barbara Mueller of Yonkers; and two stepbrothers, James Seidel

OSWEGO - Noah Charles Gulliver was still born at Oswego Hospital Feb.
25, 2000. He was the infant son of Jessica Chillson and Jeremy Gulliver.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Kimberly
Stafford, and paternal great-grandmother, Beverly Southgate of Oswego;
his paternal grandfather, Mark Stafford; his maternal grandmother, Linda
M. Wright of Hannibal; and his maternal great-grandparents, Charles and
Jessie Stupp of Florida.
WEST MONROE - Arlene (Koehler) Caiella, 71, a resident of West Monroe,
died Feb. 27, 2000 at the Francis House, Syracuse. Surviving are her husband
of 49 years, Dominick; a son, Peter Caiella of Oswego; a daughter, Darlene
Malloy of Queens; two brothers, Eugene Koehler of Wisconsin and Peter Koehler

FULTON - Charles W. Griffin, 74, a resident of 302 Walradt St., Fulton,
died Feb. 26, 2000 at University Hospital. Surviving are his wife, Cherie
M. (Crouch) Griffin; three sons, William C., David L., and Robert J., all
of Fulton; three sisters, Virginia Gardener of Delhi, and Margaret Zeh
and Freda Griffin, both of Schoharie; and a brother, Robert F. of Delhi.
FULTON - Minnie A. Pillis, 92, formerly of 100 Rochester St., Fulton,
died Feb. 23, 2000 at Loretto Heights Nursing Home, Oswego. She was predeceased
by her husband, Theodore A. Pillis, in 1982, and by a sister, Ethel A.
Yager, in 1997. Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
OSWEGO - Leona June Germain, 83, a resident of 225 W. First St., Oswego,
died Feb. 25, 2000 at Oswego Hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs.
Wesley (Beverly) Johnson of Oswego Center; a son, Robert Germain of Oswego;
nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by
her husband, Elmer Germain, in 1977, and her son, Kenneth Germain, in 1997.
OSWEGO - Paul P. Sobering, 88, of 57 W. Sixth St., Oswego, died Feb.
27, 2000 at Oswego Hospital. Surviving are his daughter, Gail Steffan of
Santa Barbara, Calif.; his son, Peter Sobering of Hartford, Conn.; two
grandchildren, Heather Clemons of Idaho and Alexandra Forrester of Oswego;
and one great-grandchild, Margot Clemons. Contributions may be made to

VOLNEY - Vera M. Goutermout, 83, formerly of 264 Owens Road, Volney,
died Feb. 25, 2000 at Sunrise Nursing Home, Oswego. She was predeceased
by her husband, Henry L. Goutermout, in 1971; and a son, Francis H. Goutermout,
in 1965. Surviving are two daughters, Alice A. Kulas and Doris E. Kerfien,
both of Volney; a sister, Winafred Rompf of London, Ontario, Canada; seven
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews.
FULTON - Donald Wayne Bristol, 55, of Cary, N.C., and formerly of Rochester,
died Feb. 23, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Calleri-Bristol;
a son, Timothy Bristol, and a daughter, Kimberly Bristol, both of Fulton;
a brother, Robert Bristol, and a sister, Diane Nichols, both of Fulton;
and a stepson, Dean Calleri of Orlando, Fla. Contributions may be made

FULTON - Annette Fitzgerald, 60, died Feb. 26, 2000 at Oswego Hospital.
Surviving are four sons, William Fitzgerald of Mexico, Chris and David
Fitzgerald, both of Fulton, and Robbie Fitzgerald of Seattle, Wash.; one
daughter, Kelly Thurlow of Roanoke, Va.; one brother, Richard Ramsey of
Syracuse; two sisters, Shirley Scott of Poughkeepsie and Carol Bradish
of Massena; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family will
provide the flowers and suggests that memorials in Mrs. Fitzgerald's name

SYRACUSE - Stanley E. Kawryga, 72, of Syracuse died Friday at the home
of his son in Eastwood. He was predeceased by his wife, Anne, in 1960.
He is survived by a daughter, Alexis Diehl of Texas; six sons, Theodore
E., John S. and Daniel M. Kawryga, all of Syracuse, Thomas J. and Stanley
"Bud" Kawryga both of Phoenix, and Ty Diehl of Texas; two brothers, Edward
and Alex, both of Syracuse; five grandchildren.
OSWEGO - Susan L. Kemp, 77, of Loretto Heights Nursing Home in Oswego
died Feb. 24, 2000 at Oswego Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband,
Elven, in 1998. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Kemp of Oswego; three
sons, Michael Jaquin of Phoenix, Harold Snow of Pulaski and Bruce Kemp
of Texas, N.Y.; a sister, Dorothy Petty of Mexico; four brothers, Frank
Jaquin of Parish, Allen Syders of Mexico, William Jaquin of Fulton and
Donald Jaquin of North Carolina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
BRIDGEPORT - Edward D. Yates, 44, of Bridgeport died Feb. 24, 2000 at
home. He is survived by a daughter, Kasey Durgan of Auburn; two sisters,
Pamela Kocher of Brewerton and April Cruse of East Syracuse; his parents,
Dorothy and Donald Yates of Bridgeport; his maternal grandfather, Clarence
Laverne of Collamer.
OSWEGO - William J. Obleman, 79, of 203 East Patricia Lane, North Syracuse,
died Feb. 24, 2000 at Pontiac Nursing Home in Oswego. He was predeceased
by his wife, Louise, in 1998 and a son, William J., in 1992. He is survived
by a son, Michael R. of Pulaski; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
