MEXICO -- Edith M. King, 92, a resident of county Route 16, Mexico, died Sept. 28, 2003 at Oswego Hospital after a massive heart attack on Sept. 27. Surviving are two daughters, Gwendolyn (Franklin) Bartlett and Elaine (Frederick) McEwen; five stepchildren, Joan Samson, Marlene (Howard) DeGroff, Claire (Neil) Souva, Karen King and Jesse (Lorraine) King; 45 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren; 50 great-great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice A. Parker; a brother, Garth Johnson; two grandsons, David A. Watson and Dennis M. Harold J. Finn

EAST HAMPTON, Conn. -- Word has been received that Harold J. Finn, 75, of East Hampton, Conn., and formerly of Oswego, died Aug. 28, 2003, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Surviving are his lifelong friend and companion of 45 years, Robert B. Fancher; two sisters, Arlene Lloyd of Liverpool and Mary Agnes (Reginald) Antwine of Henderson; a brother, William (Bernice) Finn of Oswego; and several nieces and nephews. Florence Rath

OSWEGO -- Florence (Coe) Rath, 91, of Oswego, died Sept. 30, 2003. She was the wife of the late Frederick H. Rath. Surviving are four daughters, Alta Vero of Chittenango, Janice Rath of Fairport, Nancy Ellis of Beaufort, N.C., and Marjorie Rath of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; two sons, Fritz Rath of North Syracuse and William Rath of Staten Island; a sister, Mildred King of Scriba; a brother, Leon Coe of Scriba; 22 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three children, Elizabeth, Michael and John Rath. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, county Route 45, Fulton, NY 13069.

Sophia Brooker

OSWEGO -- Sophia Brooker, 91, a former resident of 164 Bunker Hill Road in the town of Oswego, died Oct. 2, 2003 at St. Luke Health Services. Her first husband, George Beshures, died in 1967; her second husband, Robert Brooker, died in 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Faye Axtell of Sterling and Helen (Robert) Colasanti of Kentucky; three sons, Edgar (Ann Marie) Beshures of Oswego, George (Patricia) Beshures of Florida and William (Lois) Beshures of Oswego; two sisters, Stephanie Misch of Fulton and Frances Fowler of Granby: 24 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.

Frances 'Helen' Murray

OSWEGO -- Frances "Helen" Murray, 87, a resident of 94 Niagara St., Oswego, died Oct. 4, 2003 at her home. Surviving are three daughters, Shirley (Joseph) Golas, Barbara Rowan and Valerie (Robert O'Neil, all of Oswego; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin S. Murray; a son, George Murray; and a brother, Frank "Bud" Clark.

Charles H. Phillips

OSWEGO -- Charles H. Phillips, 76, a resident of St. Luke Health Services, Oswego died Oct. 4, 2003. Surviving are three nieces, Kathy (Jack) Evans, Sharon (Glenn) Topley and Sandra Shonitsky, and a nephew, John Phillips, all of Oswego.

Florence Ritz

OSWEGO -- Florence Ritz, 70, a former resident of Oswego and later a resident of Fulton, died Oct. 3, 2003, at Rosewood Heights after a long illness. She is survived by her nieces and nephews.

John A. Bolster

CAMDEN -- John A. Bolster, 54, of Camden died Oct. 2, 2003. Surviving are his wife, Kelly; a daughter, Siara; three sons, Jamie of Ooltewah, Tenn., John and Evan, both of Camden; five sisters, Nancy Torres, Patricia Copeland, Ann Pittsley, all of Oswego, Shirley Bolster of Westdale and Helen Pittsley of Scriba; a brother, Robert Jr.; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Virginia E. Faulter

CENTRAL SQUARE -- Virginia E. Faulter, 80, of Central Square, died Oct. 3, 2003. Surviving are two sons, Terry and Lonnie, both of Central Square; a brother, Myron Lape of Hastings; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles in August.

Ann C. McSweeney

OSWEGO -- Ann C. McSweeney, 78 a resident of 86 W. Cayuga St., Oswego died Oct. 4, 2003 at Oswego Hospital. She was the widow of the late George McSweeney, who died in 1976. Surviving are a daughter, Mary E. McSweeney of Oswego; two sons, George D. McSweeney of Ewa Beach, Hawaii and William C. McSweeney of Scriba; a sister, Jane C. Mulcahey of Oswego; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, James P. Cullinan, Jr.

FULTON -- John E. Delaney Jr., 48, of Fulton, died Oct. 5, 2003 at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Surviving are three daughters, Rebecca Delaney, Heather Jodway and Caitlyn Delaney, all of Fulton; a son, James of Fulton; his mother and stepfather, Gloria and Keith Baker of Fulton; two sisters, Cheryl Jordan of Palmyra, Maureen Shortt of Alexandria Bay; four brothers, Michael of Canandaigua, Patrick and Christopher, both of Clayton and Douglas of Maryland; a grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. TAVARES, Fla. -- Gertrude J. Reimold, 81 of Tavares, Fla., died Oct. 2, 2003. Surviving are a daughter, Lynda Dye of Indianapolis; a brother, Charles Van Auken of Liverpool; two sisters, Edna Kisselstein of Oswego and Dorothy Bell of Pennellville; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Reimold and a daughter, Carol Richmond.

Jennie D. Vezzose Wilber

VOLNEY -- Jennie D. Vezzose Wilber, 83, of state Route 3, Volney, died Oct. 5, 2003 at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton. Surviving are three children, Susanne C. Harrington Lee, Martha L. Wilber and Lester J. Wilber Jr., all of Fulton; three sisters, Dora Godkin of Clyde, Daisy and Elizabeth Godkin, both of Fulton; three brothers, Paul, R. Lee and Fred Divendorf, all of Fulton; nine grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lester in 1999, and two sons, H. Terry Vezzose in 1999 and James R. FULTON -- Carl Beebe, 58, of Fulton, died Oct. 5, 2003 at his home. Surviving are two sons, Raymond Albee of Fulton and John Beebe of Florida; a daughter, Melissa Stevens of Thomasville, Ga.; three brothers, Phillip, Richard and Michael Beebe of Fulton; and a sister, Shirley Whaley of Fulton.

FULTON -- Sharon G Blance, 63, of Fulton, died Oct. 6, 2003. Surviving are a daughter, Tamara Yalch of Harrisville, Pa.; two sons, Bruce Howard of Jacksonville, Fla., and Robert Blance of Fulton; a brother, Robert Matteson of Mexico; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Blance in 1973 and by a son, Eric Blance in 1989.

Surviving are eight daughters, Mae Wohlforth of Fulton, Janet Parker of Toms River, N.J., Shirley Walsh and Delores Patchin of Syracuse, Jackie Bybee of Waco, Texas, Meryle Tucker of Athens, Ga., Connie Rosen of Milwaukee, Wis., Marie Burns of Columbia Crossroads, Pa.; three sons, James Parker of Cleveland, Richard Parker of Mexico, Robert Wells of Central Square; two sisters, Laura Putnam of Syracuse and Relda Colvin of ElCajon, Calif.; a brother, Kendall Garrett of Jefferson, Maine; 29 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Alice B. Hennessey

OSWEGO -- Alice B. Hennessey, a former resident of 13 Draper St., Oswego, died Oct. 7, 2003 at St. Luke Health services. Surviving are two nephews, Dr. Joseph Mather and Lee Fayette, both of Oswego; a niece, Joanne Fayette of Oswego; six great-nephews, Dr. Joseph (Vicki) Mather of Oswego, Christopher (Mary Lou) Mather of Ohio, Patrick (Lois) Mather of Baldwinsville and Timothy (Deborah) Mather, Daniel (Cindy) Mather and Edward Fayette, all of Oswego; three great-nieces, Kate (Michael) Herrmann of Rochester, Lisa Fayette of Oswego and Mary Jo (Steve) Belknap of Phoenix; and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles in 1985 and a niece, Mary Jane Mather in 2001. The family requests that contributions be made to St. Paul's Church.

James V. Murray

OSWEGO -- James V. Murray, 51, of 17 Cedarwood Drive, Oswego, died Oct. 7, 2003 at Oswego Hospital. Surviving are his wife, Vanessa Haynes Murray; a stepson, Joel Crouse; and three sisters, Phyliss (Sam)Amedio of Oswego, Beverly (Leo) Riznik and Marsha (Dick) Tobin both of North Carolina. He was predeceased by a brother, John Murray. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Joel Crouse Education Fund, in care of the family.

OSWEGO -- Edna M. Wright, 96, a former resident of 62 E. Oneida St., Oswgeo, died Oct. 6, 2003 at Loretto Heights Nursing Home. Surviving are a son, Lawrence G. Wright of Oswego; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; She was predeceased by two daughters, Barbara Harrington, and Janice Salmonson.
