CONROE, Texas -- Word has been received of the death of Victoria Sychtysz, 89, formerly of Fulton, who died Jan. 20, 2003 in Conroe, Texas. Surviving are her children, Chester Sychtysz of Seattle, Wash., and Darlene de Leon of The Woodlands, Texas; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Alex Bergman of Fulton; a daughter, Vanessa Fox of New Haven; her parents, John and Bonnie Sixberry of Mexico; four sisters, Natalie Corliss of Pulaski, Carol Morande of Florida, Destiny Scott of Altmar, Amber Sixberry of Mexico; two brothers, John Sixberry Jr. of Florida, Jason Sixberry of Pulaski; her paternal grandmother, Natalie Sixberry of Fulton.

OSWEGO -- Donald W. Whiting, 63, a resident of 11 Orville St., Oswego, died June 24, 2003 at Sweeny Hospital in Sweeny, Texas. Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Brown of Los Angeles, Calif., and Penny Sullivan of Sweeny, Texas; two sons, Mark Whiting of Oakland, Calif., and Michael Whiting of Marion; two brothers, Arnold and Randolph Whiting, both of Oswego; three sisters, Elaine O'Reilly and Lola Barber, both of Scriba, and Janine Mayes of Oswego; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Neil and Claude Whiting.

LEESBURG, Fla. -- Word has been received of the death of Flora "Betty" Weiss, 76, who died May 29, 2003. Surviving are three sons, Christopher J. Weiss of Maitland, Fla., Carol Weiss of Perry, Fla., Fred Weiss of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Susan Buchholtz of Los Altos, Calif., Jana Wuerth of Guilford, Conn.; two brothers, Peter and Corky Gilbert; and 14 grandchildren. OSWEGO -- Ruth L. Szafran, 80, a resident of Simeon Dewitt Apartments, Oswego, died June 28, 2003, at Seneca Hill Manor. Surviving are her daughter, Judith Wallace of Oswego; a granddaughter, Susan (Alex) Thompson of Oswego; a sister, Dorothy (James) Daly of Webster; and two grandsons, Keegan and Aldan Thompson. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Szafran in 1978; three sisters, Agnes Leinwand, Edna O'Connor and Marion Prachniak; and three brothers, Elvin Goewey and Thomas and Harold Dennie. HANNIBAL -- Arthur Hallows, 87, of Hannibal, died June 28, 2003 at Oswego Hospital. His wife, Mary E. died in 1999, and a daughter, Ruth Gilbert in 1995. Surviving are two daughters, Janet (Everett) Gallogly of Ilion, and Barbara (David) Conroy of Florida; a sister, Bertha Goode of California; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. VOLNEY -- Harry L. Clew, 45, a resident of 219 Capehorn Road in the town of Volney died June 28, 2003. In addition to his parents Mr. Clew is survived by a daughter, Rikki Brower of Oswego; three brothers, Charles Clew of Volney, Edward DeMott of Parish and Thomas DeMott of Scriba; three sisters, Goldie Whitney, Caroline Holden and Shirley Clew, all of Fulton; two grandchildren; his former wife Doreen Ormsby of Oswego; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Wayne Ormsby-Clew.

BINGHAMTON -- Frederick G. Schuk, 70, of Binghamton, died June 27, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital as a result of cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Josephine Schuk; two sisters, Gertrude Stolarcyk and Antonia Carner; and a brother, Jack Schuk. Surviving are his wife, of 46 years, Vera; three daughters Dianne (David) Welsch of Oswego; Lt. Col. Laurie (Brad) Lisec, of Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.
