Jeanne M. Waldron-Bonk, 86, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at the Ferncliff Nursing Home where she had been a resident for 12 years.
Mrs. Bonk, a former Schenectady resident, had worked as a secretary for General Electric, and later for Knolls Research Laboratory. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Born June 26, 1915 in New York City, she was the daughter of Euclide Leo and Mary (McTighhe) LeVasseur.
Mrs. Bonk was predeceased by her first husband, Roland William Waldron, and her second husband, Paul Bonk.
She is survived by five children, David A. Waldron of Saugerties, NY, Mary-Rose Waldron of Uniondale, Long Island, NY, Rita A. Waldron of New York, NY, Jeane H. Waldron of Schenectady and Ellen M. Matinez of San Angelo, TX; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Christopher R. Waldron, in 1980, and one granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 10:30 a.m. at the Ferncliff Nursing Home Chapel, 52 River Road, Rhinebeck. A calling hour will precede the funeral mass from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Jeanne will be remembered as a devoted mother, and one who enjoyed writing poetry and children's stories.

Fern E. Wilson
Rhinebeck, NY

Fern E. Wilson, 70, of Rhinebeck, a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away Friday, May 24, 2002, at the Northern Dutchess Hospital.
She was a member of the Rhinebeck Antique Auto Club and the Friends of the Starr Library.
Born April 19, 1932 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Harold and Esther (Hawley) Smith.
Fern married her beloved husband Everest P. Wilson on April 29, 1956 in Poughkeepsie. They had been married for 32 years when he passed away on October 24, 1988.
Fern is survived by one daughter, Dawn Adams; a son-in-law, Daniel Adams; four grandchildren, Jared, Bridget, Gretchen and Grace Adams, all of Rhinebeck; four sisters, Anna Bartula of Staatsburg, Florence "Dutch" Beyer and her husband Frederick of Hyde Park, Joan Bouchard and her husband Bert of North Carolina and Sharon Smith of Poughkeepsie; a brother, Albert, and his wife, Tracey, of Hyde Park, and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by two sisters, Audrey Cables and Pearl Ryan; and two brothers, Harold "Sonny" Smith and William Smith.
Calling hours are Monday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 West Market St., Rhinebeck. A prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A Mass in Memorial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at 12 p.m. at the Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Rhinebeck. Burial will be in Rhinebeck Cemetery.

Fern will be remembered with great fondness by all who knew her kindness and friendly ways. She cared for her family with love and devotion.

Florence L. Ryan

Florence L. Ryan, 82 years old, of Hunter Lake, Parksville, NY, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born in New York City on January 15, 1920 to the late Henry and Emma McSweeney Lee. She was the widow of the late William Ryan who died in January 2000.
She was a retired claims adjuster for the New York Life Insurance company in New York City and a 42-year resident of Hunter Lake.
Mrs. Ryan was a member of St. Peter's R.C. Church in Liberty, Court Mary Anthony Catholic Daughters in Liberty, and the Community General Hospital Auxiliary in Harris, NY.
She is survived by two sons, John J. Ryan and his wife Charlene of Hunter Lake and William G. Ryan and his wife Irene of Nanuet, NY; one daughter, Jane Flynn and her husband Robert of Roscoe, NY; one sister, Anne O'Shea of Nanuet, NY; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Helen R. Bradshaw
Rhinebeck, NY

Helen R. Bradshaw, 93, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the Ferncliff Nursing Home.
Mrs. Bradshaw was a resident of Rhinebeck for several years and had previously lived in Poughkeepsie and Hyde Park. She was a communicant of Good Shepherd R.C. Church in Rhinebeck and had formerly been a communicant of Regina Coeli R.C. Church in Hyde Park. She was a member of the CSEA and the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary, as well as having been an avid golfer and bowler.
Mrs. Bradshaw was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and the Krissler Business Institute; she was employed as a bookkeeper in the payroll department at Hudson River State Hospital.
Born October 22, 1908 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Thomas and Mary E. "Mame" (Dobbs) Mullen.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Emler Bradshaw; two sisters, Catherine Shamberg Polotaye and Mae Mackey; and two brothers, Thomas and Vicent Mullen. She is survived by her nieces and nephews Raymond Polotaye of Rhinebeck, Robert Vincent Polotaye of Pleasant Valley, Vincent Mullen of Rhinebeck and Mary Lou (Mullen) Bennek of Tucson, AZ, several great nieces and nephews, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dorothy and James Westcott of Auburn, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 10 a.m. at the Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Rhinebeck. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Roger E. Mohrmann
Liberty, NY 

Roger E. Mohrmann, an area lifetime resident, died suddenly on May 16, 2002, at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. He was 68.
He was retired from NYSEG in Liberty where he was chief lineman. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Liberty Elks Lodge #1545, holding the office of deer hide chairman for many years.
The son of Richard and Helene Ammer Mohrmann, he was born on February 20, 1934 in Beach Lake, PA.
His wife, Joan Spettigue who died on March 28, 1999 and a brother, John Mohrmann, predeceased him.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen Maas Mohrmann at home; a son, Todd Mohrmann of Albany; a daughter, Sandra Kehrley and husband of Rockaway, NJ; his mother-in-law, Gladys Spettigue of Narrowsburg; five brothers, Richard MOhrmann of Nashua, NH, Harold Mohrmann of Shreveport, LA, Joseph Mohrmann of Piedmont, SC, Gene Mohrmann of Honesdale, PA and Douglas Mohrmann of Landsdale PA; a sister, Lucille Leininger of Queens Village, and one granddaughter, Beth Kehrley.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Ramsay's Funeral Homes, 275 S. Main St., Liberty. Elks Lodge #1545 will hold services at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be at Ramsay's Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Steve Knutsen officiating.
Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg, with full military honors.

Dorothea E. Millen
Swan Lake, NY

Dorothea E. Millen, a lifetime resident of Sullivan County, died on Friday, May 17, 2002, at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 87.
Ms. Millen was a retired bank teller for the First National Bank of Jeffersonville, Jeffersonville branch.
She was a lifetime member of the White Lake Reformed Presbyterian Church. She was very active in her church and taught Sunday school for over 60 years. She was also a member of Sullivan County Cooperative for over 50 years.
Survivors include two dear cousins, Gilbert Weiss and wife Eleanor of Beach Lake, PA, and Marilyn Rock of Windsor, NY. She is also survived by her church family at White Lake Reformed Presbyterian Church.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral services will be held at the White Lake Reformed Presbyterian Church, Route 17B, White Lake, on Sunday, May 19, 2002, at 2 p.m. Rev. David Coon will officiate.
Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery, Kauneonga Lake, NY.

William T. Dieterich
Rhinebeck, NY

William T. Dieterich, 75, an 11 year resident of Rhinebeck and formerly of Carmel and Queens, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at Wingate at St. Francis as result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident on March 22, 2002.
Mr. Dieterich, an engineer, worked in the engine rooms of tug boats for the City of New York, the Coast Guard and the New York Circle Line. Following his retirement he also obtained his real estate broker's license and worked for a short time in Putnam County.
He was a former New York State Grand Lodge officer and a member of the Rhinebeck Masonic Lodge #432 and the Croton Lodge #468 F&AM.
Mr. Dieterich served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Born May 30, 1926 in Brooklyn, he was the son of William and Marie (Seeger) Dieterich.
On June 2, 1951 in Brooklyn, he married Margaret T. (McCauley) Dieterich. Mrs. Dieterich passed away February 22, 2001.
Mr. Dieterich is survived by a daughter, Christine Mason of Pawling; two sons, William G. of Croton Falls and Thomas D. of Pleasant Valley; 12 grandchildren, Garth, Malcolm and Ethan Mason; Raimee, Courtney, Tiffany, Kristina, Rebecca, Dominick and Danielle Dieterich, Brandon and Anthony.
Calling hours are Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Dapson-Chestney Funeral Homes, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck.
Members of the Rhinebeck Lodge #432 and Croton Lodge #368 will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Joseph Bartula
Staatsburg, NY

Joseph Bartula, 77, a lifelong Staatsburg and Poughkeepsie area resident, died Wednesday, May 16, 2002, at his home in Staatsburg.
Mr. Bartula was a self-employed carpenter and operated a machine shop at his home.
He attended Roosevelt High School and was a member of the Arlington American Legion Post #1302. He served in the US Army European Theatre of Operations from September 7, 1943 to April 11, 1946. A corporal and combat infantryman, he was present at the battles of Rome-Arno and Naples-Foggia.
Born April 14, 1925 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Lutz) Bartula.
On July 22, 1951 at the Hedding Methodist Church in Poughkeepsie, he married Anna (Smith) Bartula.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Patricia and Lawrence O'Connel. He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.
Calling hours are Sunday, May 19, 2002 from 4-6 p.m. at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck. Members of Arlington Post #1302 will conduct services at 5:20 p.m.
Funeral services are Monday, 10 a.m. t the funeral home, Rev. John Koppenaal will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Hyde Park.

Concetta "Connie" Carnazza

Concetta "Connie" Carnazza, a longtime area resident, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris. She was 90.
Mrs. Carnazza was a homemaker and she enjoyed volunteering her services to the Catskill Regional Medical Center for many years. She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Monticello.
Survivors include a special nephew, Vincent J. Vero and wife, Louise, of Westwood, NJ and their family, and several other nieces and nephews.
She was the widow of Gaetano Carnazza who died in 1987.

Michael Gallo, a summer resident of Hurleyville, died on Tuesday, May 14 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. He was 89.
Mr. Gallo was a retired shoe repairman who owned his own shop in Riverdale, NY. He spent his winters in Boca Raton, Florida and his summers in Hurleyville.
The son of Carl and Colonna Gallo, he was born in Bella, Italy on May 8, 1913.
He is survived by a son, Michael Gallo Jr. and wife Roslyn of Livingston Manor; two daughters, Geraldine Naclerio of Boca Raton, FL and Alona Sabatini and her husband Armond of Hurleyville; 10 grandchildren, Denise Micheline, Michele, Michael III, Edward, Michele, Tiffany, Armond III,Damon and Brian; 10 great grandchildren, Patrick Jr., Micheline, Paige, Eddie, Peter, Caitlin, Olivia, Alicia, Tristin, and Angelena, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.

Mary A. Prince of Monticello died Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 71. Mrs. Prince was a homemaker and a 44 year resident of the area. She was married to Ralph A. Prince on November 7, 1958.
Mrs. Prince was a parishioner of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Monticello, and the Women's Christian Club of Sullivan County.
She was born in Jersey City, NJ on March 8, 1931 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas O'Dowd. She was predeceased by a son, Raymond L. Prince.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph, at home; two brothers, Thomas O'Dowd of Shorham, NY and Jack O'Dowd of Ireland; six sister, Teresa Slikas of Brooklyn, Margaret Sayer of Long Island, Katherine O'Dowd and Christina Histon of Ireland and Anna O'Dowd and Josephine O'Dowd of England. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Paul C. Benton, a lifetime resident and retired owner of Benton Brothers Propane Service, Liberty, died on Saturday, May 11, 2002, in Ellensburg, Washington. He was 90.
The son of Warren and Mamie Smith Benton, he was born on May 2, 1912, in White Sulphur Springs, NY.
Mr. Benton was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the Gideon Society. He was the widower of Ethel L. Benton who died on February 11, 1984.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Elliot of Ellensburg, WA and Charlotte Vaughn of Santa Maria, CA; one brother, Medwin Benton of Cody, WY; two sisters, Martha Wilbur of Livingston Manor and Mildred Benton of LasCruces, NM; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Harold and Warren Benton predeceased him.

She is survived by two sons, James R. Wheaton Jr. of Columbus, GA and Robert L. Wheaton of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren, James M. Wheaton, Michael Andrews Wheaton, Elizabeth Ann Wheaton Peckham, Sallie LaMar Wheaton Johnson, Belinda Wheaton Marley, and Stacey Wheaton Roddy. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Andres.

Marion Frances Verdi Sardonia, 78, of Alexander City, AL, and a former resident of Kauneonga Lake, died Friday, May 10 at Chapman's Healthcare in Alabama.
The daughter of Luigi and Maria Savina Catrinella Verdi, she was born on January 15, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY.
Mrs. Sardonia worked as a telephone operator for AT&T and was the widow of Milton J. Sardonia who passed away on August 23, 1994.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen Workman and husband Larry of Alexander City, AL; her son, Joseph Sardonia and wife Lucy of Farmingdale, NJ; two grandchildren, Jason Workman and Mariana Sardonia; one brother, Vito Verdi and wife Giselle of Middletown, NJ; and two sisters, Louise Catalano Collins and Teresa Kenney, both of Monticello, NY.

Tyrone Jackson, 18, of Liberty, died Suddenly on Thursday, May 9, 2002 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
The son of Henry Jackson Sr. and Linda Rodriquez, he was born on March 29, 1984 in Harris, NY.
He was a student at Liberty High School and he attended the Vo-Tech program at Sullivan County BOCES.
A family statement read: "Words cannot describe our deep loss. Tyrone was truly loved by everyone and will be deeply missed."
Survivors include his father, Henry Jackson at home; his mother, Linda Rodriquez of Fallsburg, NY; six brothers, Keith Penn of Rock Hill, Gerald Penn of North Carolina, Henry Jackson Jr. of Newburgh, Charles Mack of Liberty, Matthew Rodriquez of Monticello and Elijah Fitts of Fallsburg; six sisters, Gladys Reeves of Liberty, Jayneen Mills and her husband Mark of Liberty, Maryanne Jackson and June Jackson, both at home, Felice Matthews and Dominique Rodriquez, both of Monticello; four aunts, Cindy Burger and Virginia Burger, both of Fallsburg, Rosemary Burger of Kiamesha, and Lillian Vandermark of Livingston Manor; three uncles, Mike Burger and Roy Burger, both of Monticello, and Ralph Burger of Hurleyville, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Susie Edwards

Susie Edwards, a resident of Middletown, died peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2002, at Park Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Middletown. She was 89.
The daughter of the late Ralph and Susan Cutler Eck, she was born on January 23, 1913 in Lacawack, NY.
She was the widow of Amos W. Edwards, who died on September 9, 1967.
Susie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother as a wonderful cook and baker.
She is survived by her daughter, Irene Garcea and her husband Frank of Middletown; one granddaughter, Deborah Creedon and her husband, Russell of Middletown; two great grandchildren, Amy and Daniel Creeden of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.
