Mamie Lee Head died at Community Medical Center in Toms River, New
Jersey on November 8. Mamie had lived to be 75 years old. She worked at
Data Master in Glen Cove as an electrical wiring specialist at Grant's
Department Store as a sales Manager and at Glen Cove Community Hospital
as a dietitian. Mamie Head lived in Glen Cove for Approximately 50 years

William H. Barlow
William H. Barlow, a life-long resident of Sea Cliff, died at his home
on Sunday, July 16. He was 84. During World War II, Mr. Barlow was a field-grade
officer in the 105th artillery and served in combat in North Africa, Italy,
and Southern France. For a time he was instructor of American material
with the Septieme Chausseurs D'Afrique; proficient in French, he was occasionally
called upon to be an interpreter. He was awarded the Medalle de la France
Liberee and was named an Honorary Brigadier of the French Army. He received
the Purple Heart for wounds in action.
Mr. Barlow held degrees from Columbia University. His varied career
included banking, journalism/editing at the Manhasset Mail in the 1950s,
public relations with the Salvation Army, and hospital administration at
Booth Memorial Medical Center in Queens. He was retired since 1979. Over
the years he participated in various community activities, including theater
groups, the Huntington Men's Choir, the Sea Cliff Historical Museum, and
St. Boniface Martyr Church.
He was the son of William H. Barlow and Martha Merz Barlow. He is survived
by his sister Grace Mandigo, his brother Roy Barlow, nieces Barbara Mandigo
Cunningham and Joyce Barlow Dodd, and nephews Donald Mandigo and Barton
A memorial mass will be held at Boniface Church in Sea Cliff on Wednesday,
August 2, at 9:30AM.

David W. Murchison Sr. of Winter Haven died Thursday (July 13, 2000)
at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 83.
Born in Glen Cove, Long Island, N.Y., on Jan. 7, 1917, he came to Winter
Haven from Hollywood in 1985. He was a retired chief building official
for the city of Hollywood. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War
II. He was a graduate of Friends Academy and attended Clarkson College
and Pratt Institute.
He is survived by his wife, Joye "Jo" Murchison; sons, David W. Murchison,
Naples, daughter, Sally Boyd, Wellington, Kenneth Murchison, Glen Cove,
N.Y.; five grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2PM Sunday at Bemer
Memorial United Methodist Church, Winter Haven.

Robert Dudley Bolger
Robert Dudley Bolger, died at his home in Libertytown, Maryland. He
was born May 9, 1911, 10th of the 11 surviving Thomas J. Bolger and Mary
Ellen Daily. He was the husband of the late Elinor Agatha Parks of Brooklyn.
Raised in New York, he held design and executive positions in several mens
wear corporations. He moved to Sea Cliff in 1948 where he was an active
supporter and initiator of numerous religious, civic, and educational activities.
He was active in the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, Catholic Evidence
Guild, and Boy Scouts of America. He was particularly active in Saint Boniface
Parish in Sea Cliff from 1940's to the 1990's. There he helped initiate,
organize, and serve in various parish programs, including the Congraternity
of Christian Doctrine, Parish Council, and Boy Scouts. He routinely served
on numerous outreach initiatives. Until his recent illness, he was a regular
comunicant, and he brought Communion to those unable to attend Church.
He was a tireless personal benefactor of persons in need. He is survived
by one brother, Jerome Bolger of Juno Beach, Florida, by four children,
Marjorie O'Sullivan of Boca Raton, Florida, Robert of San Diego, California,
Brian of Libertytown, Maryland, and Terence of Hanover, Pennsylvania, seventeen
grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral mass was held at
Saint Boniface Church on Glen Avenue in Sea Cliff on Tuesday October 10th.
