Michael Shaffron, of Honeoye Falls, died on January 17, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Judith (Henry) Conklin, Patricia Shaffron (Jerry Mielke); two sons, Michael (Laraine) Shaffron, Jack (Wendy) Haravitch; grandchildren, Heidi, Damian, Megan, Lucas, Andy, Ben and Richard; great-granddaughter, Kya; daughter-in-law, Judith Haravitch; nieces and nephews. His first wife, Ann, and son, Michael, predeceased him.
Calling hours were held at the Merton Kays Funeral Home in Honeoye Falls on Wednesday, January 17, 2000. Funeral services were held at St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church in Rochester on Thursday, January 18, 2000

ROBERT HENNESSEY MCCARTHY
Robert Hennessey McCarthy, of Honeoye Falls and Geneseo, died on Tuesday, January 11, 2000, at the age of 18. He is survived by his parents, John and Jann McCarthy of Honeoye Falls; brother, Sean Patrick McCarthy of Rochester; sister, Mara Kathleen McCarthy of Honeoye Falls; maternal grandmother, Mary Frances Dunning of Hornell; paternal grandmother, Anne Haley McCarthy of Geneseo; and a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 14, 2000, at St. Mary’s Church in Geneseo. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, send memorials to Robert Hennessey McCarthy Foundation, 230 Main Street, Hornell, NY 14843.

CATHERINE E. HEUER (BARTLE)
Catherine E. Heuer, of Scottsville, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2000. She is survived by her husband William; sons, Dr. Gary and Dr. Karl (Debra) Heuer; daughter-in-law Nancy Heuer; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Whiteside; and several nieces and nephews. Her grandson, Gary Heuer, Jr., predeceased her.
A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 8 at St. Mary’s Church in Scottsville. Interment was at Holy Angels Cemetery.

DOLORES B. MEATH (BARBER)
Mrs. Dolores B. Meath, 74, of Avon, died suddenly on Sunday, January 2, 2000 at her home. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susan (Herbert) Harman of Sterling, Virginia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael (Lori) Meath of Avon, Thomas (Lindy) Meath of Gold Coast, Australia; two sisters and brother-in-law Rita Stevenson of Avon, Elizabeth (William) Remaley of Avon; twelve grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Meath, in 1997 and a son, James E. Meath, in 1990.
Mrs. Meath was born on September 19, 1925 in Rochester, the daughter of Charles Barber and Agnes (Dooley) Barber. Mrs. Meath was a retired secretary from the Avon Central School District. She was a member of St. Agnes Church, XYZ Club of Avon, and Avon Historical Society.
Calling hours were held at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home of Avon. Her Funeral Mass was held at St. Agnes Church, Avon. Rev. Ronald Harley officiated. Interment was at St. Agnes Cemetery in Avon. Contributions may be made to Teresa House Hospice, 21 Highland Road, Geneseo, NY 14454 or St. Agnes Church in her memory.

ANTHONY P. CAPITANO
Anthony P. Capitano, 79, of Rush, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 5, 2000. His wife, Blanche Capitano, predeceased him. He is survived by his daughter, Theresa (John Burgio) Ford; grandchildren, Richard, Daniel, and Samantha Jo; brothers, Peter (Lena) Capitano and Angelo Capitano, and several nieces and nephews.
Tony was a veteran of World War II and a retiree of Delco.
A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 8 at St. Joseph’s Church, 6105 Rush-Lima Road. Interment was at Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia Society of America.

MICHAEL A. COLAVITO
Mr. Michael A. Colavito of Honeoye Falls died Thursday, January 2, 2000 at home. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Perreault-Colavito, whom he married on November 25, 1954 at St. Mary’s Church in Little Valley, NY.
Other survivors include a son, Joseph (Katie) Colavito of Natchitoches, LA; grandson, Gavin Colavito, also of Natchitoches; daughter, Francine Colavito of Palmyra, NY; and grandchildren Michelle Bigelow and Ryan Frohm.
No visitation was observed at Mr. Colavito’s request. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, January 10, 2000 at St. Mary’s Church in Little Valley, with the Rev. Wallace Borucki as Celebrant. Burial will be in the South Napoli Cemetery. Arrangements handled by Van Rensselaer & Son Funeral Home in Randolph, NY.

DR. GEORGE LOWELL EMERSON
Dr. George Lowell Emerson, formerly of Scottsville, died peacefully on Thursday, January 6, 2000 at Harbor Hill Retirement Community in Belfast, Maine. His son, Jon Andrew Emerson, and daughter, Lynn Storey Emerson Whitney, were with him as the smoke across Belfast Harbor became bright with the morning light. His wife and sailing partner of 45 years, Dr. Marion Storey Emerson, and his brother, Dr. Ernest Benjamin Emerson, predeceased him.
Dr. Emerson is survived by his son, Jon, and daughter-in-law, Eileen O’Conner, of North Haven, Maine; his daughter, Lynn, and son-in-law, David Gordon Whitney, of Brooksville, Maine; grandsons, Chris Michael Emerson, Jacob Lowell Whitney, Tom Lowell Emerson, Jesse Gordon Whitney and Aidan O’Connor Emerson; a nephew, Benjamin Emerson, and his family of Rochester and a niece, Lowell Elizabeth Emerson, of Rochester.
Dr Emerson was born in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, the son of Dr. Ernest Benjamin Emerson of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Dr. Hannah Lowell Emerson of Auburn, Maine. He grew up with his brother on the grounds of Rutland State Sanitarium where their father was director. A graduate of Harvard in 1938 and the University of Rochester Medical School in 1942, Dr. Emerson spent his professional career at the University of Rochester and Strong Memorial Hospital becoming a senior associate surgeon of thoracic medicine. He was cited as "a master surgeon" with special dexterity, problem solving, and consultation abilities and integrity. His bedside manner and caring for the whole patient set a standard for the many medical students he helped train.
A long-time resident of Scottsville, New York, Dr. Emerson shared many happy times with family and friends skiing, bicycling, canoeing and wood working. Extended summers were spent on Bates Island in Casco Bay and for the last 45 years on Zeke’s Point in Vinalhaven, Maine. He shared his love of boats and the water with his family and friends, taking many cruises along the Maine Coast and into Canadian waters aboard The Wild Goose, Salt and Night Wind. His dry sense of humor will be missed.

ELEANOR A. DELANEY
Mrs. Eleanor A. Delaney of Avon died on Friday, January 7, 2000 at the age of 79. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia (Jack) Lewis of Honeoye Falls and Susan Delaney of MA; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis (Andrea) Delaney of OH; companion, Romain LeTourneau; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice (George) Scheg of Rochester, Marion (James) Ryan of Spencerport, Ruth (William) Kraft of Livonia and Norma McCarthy of Rochester; seven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Delaney was predeceased by her husband, Edward M. Delaney, in 1985.
Friends called at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home in Avon, where prayers were said on Wednesday, January 12, 2000, at 9:30 a.m., followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in her memory. Interment, St. Agnes Cemetery. 

WILLIAM A. ERWIN
William A. Erwin, 62, of Geneva died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 29, 1999. He is survived by his sons, Jay of Geneseo, Jeffrey (Donna) of Dansville and Jon (Tracy) of Geneseo; daughter, Joy (Robert) Coakley of Mendon; 10 grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann (Craig) Bruce of Hamburg; brothers, Thomas (Linda) of Groveland and Harold of Dundee; brother-in-law Robert Dantz of Groveland.

ROBERT J. "BUD" MACK
Robert J. Mack, of Rush, died on Monday, November 6, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Edith Hill; son, Daniel Mack; four daughters, Penny (John) Beneway, Wendy (Michael) Davis, Sandra (Brian) Foley, Tammy (John) LaPlant; six grandsons; sister, Jean Babey; brother, John (Gail) Mack.
Services were held at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home in Honeoye Falls on Friday, Nov. 10. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery in Rush. Friends wishing may contribute to the Rush Ambulance Fund or the American Kidney Association in memory of Mr. Mack.

JEROME B. KORN
Mr. Jerome B. Korn died on Monday, November 6, 2000 at the age of 94. He was predeceased by his wife, Irma Korn. He is survived by his children, Joan (John) Starkweather, Sr., Janet Korn RSM, Gerald (Maureen) Korn, Kathleen (Jeff) McKenna; foster son, Howard Fuller; grandchildren, John Starkweather, Janet Starkweather, Mary (Robert) Starkweather Howe, Robert (Helene) Starkweather, Anne Starkweather, Susan Starkweather, Alona McKenna and Gregory Korn; four great grandchildren; sisters, Sr. Grace Marie Korn OSF and Grace (Herbert) Sturm; brother, James (Lillian) Korn; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Miller Funeral Home on Winton Road South last week, A Funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph's Church in Rush on Friday, November 10. Intwerment at Pine Hill Cemetery in Rush.

GRACE F. STILES
Grace F. Stiles, 93, of Apopka, Florida and Franklin, Vermont passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2000 in Rochester.
Born in Waltham, Vermont, Mrs. Stiles graduated from Vergennes High School in 1925 and UVM in 1929. With her husband, the Rev. Robert H. Blodgett, she served in the churches in Pittsfield, Franklin, East Hardwick and Tunbridge. She later taught school in South Hero, Waitsfield, Hinesburg, Peacham, Shoreham, Eden, Fletcher and the Kurn Hattin School in Westminster.
Predeceased by husbands, the Rev. Robert H. Blodgett (1942) and Frank 0. Stiles (1996), she is survived by her daughter, Ruth B. Hayes of Honeoye Falls; and stepsons, Robert (Ione) Stiles of Sebring, Florida and Richard (Audrey) Stiles of Morrisville, Vermont. She is also survived by grandchildren, Patricia (Ray) Wartinger of Webster; Heidi (Paul) Bartos, of Ft. Lauderdale, New York; Bonnie (Paul) Brol, of Macedon, New York; Tom (Susan) Hayes, of Morrisville, Vermont; Steven (Judy) Hayes, of Fairfax, Vermont, David (Marie) Hayes, of West Chester, Pennsylvania; and step grandchildren, Robin (Tom) Cota, of Morrisville, Vermont, Wendy Walsh, of Burlington, Vermont, and Marcia Nichols, of Eden, Vermont. She is also survived by 24 great grandchildren.
A family celebration of her life will be held on November 25, the eve of her 94th birthday in Honeoye Falls. A committal service will take place in Vermont in July.

MILDRED R. VICKERS
Mrs. Mildred Vickers of Honeoye Falls died on Wednesday, November 8, 2000 at age 91. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Warren; two brothers-in-law, Howard Vickers of Arizona and Lloyd Vickers of Lima; nieces and nephews.
Friends called on Friday, November 10, at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home in Honeoye Falls, where Funeral Services were held on Saturday, November 11.Interment at Honeoye Falls Cemetery. Friends wishing to may contribute to the Humane Society of Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, 14450, in Mrs. Vickers' memory.

IRVING C. ROSE
Mr. Irving C. Rose of West Bloomfield died on Monday, November 13, 2000 at age 79. He is survived by his children, Steven Rose of Tucson, AZ. and Molly Rose of Philadelphia, PA.; granddaughter, Christina Rose; two brothers, Alwyn (Mary) Rose of West Bloomfield and Leon (Betty) Rose of Honeoye Falls; two sisters, Florence (Ade) Burmeister of West Bloomfield and Mae (Henry) Hilderbrandt of Rochester; sisters-in-law, Margaret Rose of Lima and Harriet Rose of West Bloomfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends called on Wednesday, November 15, at the O'Connell-Drowne Funeral Home in Lima, where services were held on that date following the calling hours. Rev. Corey Keyes officiated. Interment was at West Bloomfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the West Bloomfield Ambulance Fund or the West Bloomfield Fire Department.
