Age 84, of Lancaster, NY, died September 26, 1997 in Phoenix, AZ, following a long illness. He was owner and operator of Peters' Collision Shop from 1943 until his retirement in 1984 when he joined his daughter in Phoenix. He was a member of the Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department Hook and Ladder Division for 35 years and a former member of the Moose Lodge. An avid athlete and sportsman, he maintained a lifelong interest in sports. For the past 13 years, he lived in Phoenix with his wife Evelyn while enjoying summer trips back to his home in Lancaster. Survivors include his wife Evelyn, his daughter Lynn Adler and twin sons Brian and Martin. He is also survived by his brother Edward and was preceded in death by his brother Emden and a sister Marion Strickland. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the GILBERT W. DANZER FUNERAL HOME INC., 5363 Genesee St, Bowmansville. She was a member of the Outer Banks Presbyterian Church and the Outer Banks Cancer Support Group. She graduated from Kenmore West Senior High 1970 and Buffalo General School of Nursing 1973. She was the daughter of Betty (Schnabel) Miller of Buffalo and the late Donald Miller and the wife of John E. Petersen of Southern Shores, NC. Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by two sisters, Donna Miller and Linda Miller, both of Buffalo; two brothers, Kenneth Miller and Denis Miller, also of Buffalo.
