He attended Batavia High School, Hobart College and was a graduate of the University of Chicago. He was a teacher, published mathematician, engineer, inventor with over 50 patents, a horticulturist by hobby, had an insatiable appetite for learning, and was a regular Johnny Appleseed in many ways. He was honored by Cleveland Mayor Carl Stokes as Man of the Year. Retired from Nordson Corporation, Amherst OH, he was currently teaching math at Edison Community College in Naples, FL, where he had designed a natural Florida garden for the campus.
