DUNKIRK — Aimee Jo Setera, 21, of Swan Street, died Saturday (Jan. 29, 2000) as a result a injuries sustained in an automobile accident.She was born Oct. 14, 1978, in Honolulu, the daughter of Gregory Meadows of Dunkirk and Denise Michalak of Sinclairville.A Chautauqua County resident most of her life, she attended Cassadaga Valley Central School from 1989 to 1994 and was a 1996 graduate of Dunkirk High School with honors. While at Cassadaga she served as treasurer for the Future Farmers of American. She had previously attended Jamestown Community College and had been employed by Pizza Hut in Fredonia. She would have started a new job on Monday with Carrie Allen of Williamsville as a receptionist. She was a ten-year member of the Cassadaga Memorial Post 1280 American Legion Auxiliary and had become a senior member in October of 1999. She was a member and leader in training for AWANA in Stockton and Brocton.She enjoyed karate and was a brown belt. She also enjoyed ice and roller skating.Besides her parents she is survived by her husband of six months, Scott Setera, whom she married July 17, 1999; her stepmother Peggy Wright Meadows; her stepfather, Paul Michalak; two brothers: Aaron Meadows and Andrew Lanski, both of Sinclairville; three stepsisters: Patricia Claybrooke and Melinda Gill, both of Dunkirk and Colleen Whitehead of Forestville; her grandparents: Willis Meadow Sr. of Fredonia and Eleanor Burley Meadow of Fredonia; Albert and Norma Holtz Holcomb of Ruskin, Fla. and Mary MacCubbin of Fredonia; her step-grandmother, Vilma Michalak of Cassadaga; and her step great-grandfather, Stanley Holtz of Ruskin.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. Wednesday in St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, Route 20, Sheridan. The Rev. Gerald P. Sheehan and deacon John Setera, her father-in-law, will officiate. Angeline ‘‘Angie’’ Galati, of Tanglewood Manor, formerly of 22¢ Hazzard St., died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 30, 2000) in WCA Hospital.A native of Jamestown, she was born Feb. 26, 1906, the daughter of the late Sebastian and Concetta Conti Ciancio.She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her children and grandchildren and as a devoted Elvis Presley fan. She also loved to crochet and cook for her family.Surviving are a daughter, Carol J. Zeolle of Jamestown; a son, Sandy Galati of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Don Zeolle, Dori Rickerson and Debra Fields, all of Jamestown, Lizbeth and Kristiann Galati, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Anthony Ciancio of Jamestown and Joseph Reale of Bemus Point.Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Galati, whom she married July 26, 1926, and who died Nov. 22, 1967; her stepfather, Sebastian Reale; two brothers: Sebastian ‘‘Busty’’ Ciancio and Carl Reale; and a sister, Carmella Rosella.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Catholic Church. Beatrice P. Anderson, 94, formerly of 87 E. Summit Ave., Lakewood, died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 29, 2000) in Lawson Care Center.A Jamestown resident since 1926, she was born Nov. 11, 1905, in Union City, Pa., the daughter of Grove and Mina Gardner Phelps.She was the widow of Henry L. Anderson, whom she married August 21, 1937, and who died June 9, 1987.She was a 1923 graduate of Union City High School and a 1925 graduate of Jamestown Business College. She was a 30 year employee of Jamestown Mutual Insurance, retiring in 1963. She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and the Busti Senior Citizens.Surviving are two nieces: Phyllis A. Urbanic of Bemus Point and Anne H. Peterson of Jamestown.The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. ASHVILLE — Miles H. Berthold, 89, of 4850 College St., died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 30, 2000) in his home. An area resident since coming from Pittsburgh, Pa., 53 years ago, he was born Jan. 30, 1911, in Braddock, Pa., the son of Daniel J. and Anna Adessa Esler Berthold.He was a retired employee of Chautauqua Hardware and previously was employed by the former Green Brothers Lumber. He was a member of Ashville United Methodist Church and was past master of Fort Pitt Masonic Lodge 635 in Pittsburgh.He enjoyed building model ships.Surviving are his wife, Dorothy F. Nevins Berthold whom he married July 22, 1939; a daughter, Susanne Lawrence of Richfield Springs, N.Y.; a son, Bruce Berthold of Gilbert, Ariz.; seven grandchildren: Angela Eakan and Bruce M. She was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Gowanda, the daughter of Gladys Hill Hebner of Cattaraugus and the late Emmett J. Hebner. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Rainbow Lake Resort and was a member of the Moose Club in Gowanda. Surviving besides her mother are two daughters: Kasey Stockman and Shannon L. Harvey, both of Cattaraugus; six grandchildren: Brianna and Ashlee Harvey, Matthew and Danni Jo Elliott , Eric and Taylor Stockman; and a brother, Ronald Hebner of Cattaraugus. A lifelong Warren area resident, she was born Nov. 17, 1921, in Warren, the daughter of Frank and Emily Lagerblad. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Surviving are a son, Dennis W. Brader of Vero Beach, Fla.; two daughters: Cindy Slater and Barb Gross of Warren; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Stanley Danielson of Warren and Chester Anderson of New Port Richey, Fla. HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - John M. Hausherr, 62, of Hilton Head Island and Maple Springs, N.Y., died Sunday (Nov. 7, 1999) in the Hilton Head Medical Center. He was born Sept. 10, 1937, in Newark, N.J., the son of the late John V. and Barbara Milliken Hausherr. He a veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University of Rutherford, N.J. He was employed by AT&T for 30 years, active with the Pioneers and past president of Western Electric/Bell Telephone Lab Council. He was a member of the American Legion, War Vets and Ingjald Lodge 65 Independent Order of Vikings all of Jamestown and the Hilton Head Island Ski Club. Surviving are his wife, Gayle Willits Hausherr; a son, Jim Hausherr of Santa Monica, Calif; two daughters: Barbara Young of Wilmington, N.C., and Kathryn Hausherr of Hilton Head Island; a granddaughter, Kristin Elizabeth Young; and a sister, Janet Schaumberg of Greenville, R.I. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Richard Visker whom she married in 1947; a daughter, Virginia Visker of Iowa City, Iowa; a son, Scott R. Summit Ave., Lakewood, died on Monday (Jan. 31, 2000) in her home.She was born in Jamestown, the daughter of John and Alma Brandina Peterson.She was the wife of Bertrand W. ‘‘Bert’’ Sternburg, whom she married Feb. 24, 1943.She earned her bachelor’s at State College of Fredonia and her master’s degree at Syracuse University in 1965. She was a fifth grade teacher at Lakewood Elementary School and retired in 1977 from Southwestern Middle School where she taught sixth grade for 17 years.She was a 1929 confirmand of Zion Covenant Church, a member of Southwestern Central School Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Lakewood Women’s Club.Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Andrea S. McLean of Webster, N.Y., and Terry S. She was employed by the Medicine Shop for one year in the shipping department at Cummins Engine for five years and the former Crescent Tools for nine years. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the Lucille Ball Little Theatre, the Supper Club and the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. She was formerly a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.She loved bowling, golfing and playing cards. She was mother and aunt to all her nieces and nephews.Surviving are her husband, Anthony J. Foti, whom she married Oct. 4, 1947; a sister, Josephine Conti of Jamestown; and a brother, Anthony Conti Jr. of Clearwater, Fla.She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph ‘‘Windy’’ Conti, who died Nov. 18, 1993.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. James Catholic Church. Briggs, 75, of 155 Merlin Ave., died at 1:40 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 30, 2000) in WCA Hospital.He was born April 14, 1924, in Dunkirk, the son of Howard and Myrtle Mosher Briggs.He was a 1942 graduate of Warren High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was employed by Jamestown Metal Corp. as a tool and die maker for 21 years and owned and operated Briggs Amusement Machines and the former Melody Inn for many years.Surviving are his wife, Jane M. Anderson Briggs, whom he married June 28, 1947; four sons: Randy A. and Grant E. Briggs, both of Jamestown, Keith R. Briggs of Rock Hill, S.C., and Troy A.
