Sube, Daniel L., 79, of Randolph, NY died Sept 14, 1999 in his home. He was born Dec
14, 1919 in Audenried, PA, the son of Harry and Edith Boke Sube. Surviving is his wife,
Mary E. Edgar Sube whom he married Aug 10, 1946; one son, Christopher Sube; and one
daughter, Kathleen O’Palenick. He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Sube, in
1949, and one daughter, Eileen Sube in 1952. Interment in the South Napoli Cemetery.

Nannen, Sadie Elizabeth, 91, of Rockville, MD, formerly of Ellicottville, NY, died Sept
14, 1999. She was born Jan 5, 1908, in Ellicottville, the daughter of William J. and Jessie
Constantine Graham. Surviving are three sons: Jack W. Nannen, William G. Nannen and
Jerome H. Nannen; two daughters: Rae N. Enright and Susie N. Stakel; and a sister:
Olladean A. Bump. She was preceded in death by her husband, William O. Nannen,
whom she married Jan 5 1927 and who died Jan 29, 1975; and by a son, Willard O.
Nannen, who died in August, 1997.

Knuth, Albert, 68, of Delevan, NY died Oct. 2, 1999 in his home. He was born Aug. 25,
1931 in Gowanda, a son of the late Arthur and Emma Bigham Knuth. Surviving are his
wife, Carol D. Ring Knuth, whom he married May 18, 1962; two sons, Kevin Knuth and
Dennis Knuth; three sisters: Doris Smith, Elva Abbey, and Twilla Lefford; two brothers:
Arthur Knuth and Earl Knuth. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister,
Lucille Shields. Burial was in the Delevan Cemetery, Delevan, NY.

Beeles, Walter A., 82, of Mansfield, NY died Oct. 4, 1999 in his home. He was born
March 31, 1917 in Palermo, NY, the son of Robert and Evelyn Walsh Beeles. Surviving
are his wife, Loretta Spychala Beeles, whom he married Jan. 13, 1945; two sons,
Michael, and John Beeles; two daughters: Lorraine Couhig and Patricia Damon; a
brother, Myron Beals; and a sister, Ruth Falise. He was preceded in death by a brother,
Harold Beals.

Underwood, Robert D., 90, of Randolph, died Oct. 7, 1999 in his home. He was born Apr.
18, 1909 in Napoli, the son of Lynn and Ida Potter Underwood. He is survived by two
sons: Robert D. Underwood, Jr., and James Underwood. He was predeceased by his
wife, Lucille Jerrett Underwood whom he married Aug. 24, 1946 and who died Sept. 15,
1999; and a sister, Pauline Waite, in 1985. Burial was in the Randolph Cemetery.

Sheldon, Gleason Frank, 73, of Otto, NY, died Oct. 5, 1999 in Gowanda. He was born
Dec. 22, 1925 in Frewsburg, the son of the late Gleason and Mildred Morrison Sheldon.
He is survived by his brother, Vincent Sheldon; and two sisters, Helen Morris and
Barbara Caswell. He was predeceased by a brother, Lester Sheldon; and three sisters:
Hazel Opferbeck, Bessie Kane, and Shirley Snyder. He was buried in the Park Lawn
Cemetery in the Town of Dayton.

Edgar, Stephen Robert, 51, of Salamanca, NY died Oct. 8, 1999 in his home. He was born
Jan. 25, 1948, a son of Robert and the late Bonita Mae Goodrich Edgar. Besides his
father, survivors are his wife, Debi Toussaint Edgar; four daughters: Michelle Edgar,
Nicole Edgar, Kelli Zywiczynski, and Kandace Thompson; one sister: Linda Pelham; and
a brother: Terry Edgar. Burial was in the Huskey Cemetery.

Fisher, Doris Marie, 82, of South Dayton, NY died Oct 11, 1999. She was born April 25,
1917 in Little Valley, NY, the daughter of the late Floyd H. and Ethel O’Dell Evans.
Surviving are three daughters: Suzanne E. Sauberan , Linda Fisher, and Linda
Czekalski; two brothers: O’Dell Evans and John Evans; and one sister: Mary Loretto.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert G. Fisher, whom she married Dec 26,
1936, and by a sister, Jeanette Randall.

Danner, Jerry Y., 69, of Little Valley, NY died Oct 11, 1999, in her home. She was born
Sept 27, 1930 in Salamanca, NY, a daughter of the late Howard and Gladys White
Burnmark. Surviving are her husband, Raymond O. Danner, whom she married Oct 25,
1950; a son, Martin N. Danner; and a daughter, Cindy Lou Danner. Burial was in the
Liberty Park Cemetery, Cattaraugus, NY.

Knight, Jessie M., 89, of Warren, died Oct. 15, 1999. She was born Oct. 15, 1910, the daughter of Mary Dain and Alfred Maloney. Surviving are two daughters: Carol Knowlton and Suzanne Shall; three sisters: Isabelle Dorwart, Mildred Huber, and Wilma Campbell; and three brothers: Orville, Kenneth, and Elton Maloney. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Knight; and two brothers: Auldrain and Harold Maloney.

Wescott, Grace M., 76, of Randolph, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999 in her home. She was
born Sept. 26, 1923 in Randolph, the daughter of the late Roland and Velma Young Carr.
Surviving are her husband, Robert C. Wescott, whom she married Oct. 19, 1945; a son,
George R. Wescott; a brother, Earl Carr; and a sister, Eva Carr. Burial was in the
Randolph Cemetery.

Braun, Eva T., 95, of Springville, NY, died Oct. 27, 1999. She was born March 29, 1904
in Greenville, PA, a daughter of the late Earl and Sylvia Greeley Thompson. Surviving
are a son, Douglass Braun; and a sister, Bernice Marsh. Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by her husband, Joseph O. Braun, who died Sept. 26, 1985; two sisters: Ina
Wallace and Laura Cooper; and three brothers: Greeley, Leeman, and Hilton Thompson.

Sanders, Helen L., 88, of Maples, NY, died Oct. 27, 1999 in Allegany. She was born June
3, 1911 in Mount Gilead, Ohio, the daughter of Lloyd and Maude Barnes Tennant.
Surviving are a son, Glenn Sanders; two daughters: Shelia Bowen and Joanne Denning;
two brothers, Donald Tennant and John Tennant; and a sister, Prudence Ramsey. She
was predeceased by a sister, Marianne Rizor. Burial was in the Maple Cemetery.

Senn, Martha MacKenzie and Senn, Paige Marie infant daughters of David and Jennifer Cornwall Senn, of Randolph, NY died Friday, Nov 5, 1999 at birth. Besides their parents, they are survived by two brothers: Hayden Robert Senn and Wesley Dale Senn; paternal grandparents Dale and Wilda Austin Senn, and maternal grandparents, Robert and Happy Nobbs Cornwall, all

Volk, Lillian P., of South Dayton, died Nov. 6, 1999 in Gowanda, NY. She was born Aug.
5, 1913 in the Town of Dayton, the daughter of the late Garland and Betsy Meyers
Pagett. She is survived by two sons: Donald C. Volk and Robert A. Volk; and a daughter,
Sherry A. Volk. She was predeceased by her husband, George J. Volk, whom she
married on Nov. 16, 1940, and who died Jan. 8, 1940, and who died Jan. 8, 1999; a son,
Lynn A. Volk, in 1976; a brother, Clarence Pagett; and two sisters: Catherine Sutter in
1998 and Emma Hickox in 1978. Burial was in the Cottage Cemetery, Cottage, NY.

Bromley, Genevieve B., 70, of South Dayton, died December 4, 1999 in her home. She
was born Nov. 23, 1929 in East Concord, NY, the daughter of Ralph and Jessie Mosher
Smith. Survivors include her companion, Herbert W. Lux; a son, Jerry L. Bromley; a
daughter, Dorothy A. Frentz; two brothers: Richard Smith and John Smith; and two
sisters: Joyce Heim and Audrey Beach. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased
by her husband, Burdette Harvey Bromley, who died in 1971; a sister, Barbara Schuler;
and a brother, Louis Smith. Burial was in the Treat Memorial Cemetery, Leon.

Laing, Emerson Owen, 90, of East Otto, NY, died Dec. 5, 1999 in his home. He was born
Sept. 29, 1909, the son of the late Owen S. and Anna Brimmer Laing. Surviving are a
son: Thomas Owen Laing; three daughters: Judith Becelia, Mary Jane Murray, and
Carole E. Laing. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marian
Corgel Laing, whom he married June 29, 1936 and who died Mar. 16, 1998; and two
sisters: Mamie Beach and Shirley Dalton. Burial was in the Liberty Park Cemetery,
Cattaraugus, NY.

Smith, Rolland E., 88, of Leon, NY died Dec. 4, 1999. He was born May 9, 1911 in
Harmony, the son of the late Elwin and Mabel Savelle Smith. Surviving are three sons:
William Smith, Donald Smith, and Ronald Smith; four daughters: Esther Bailey, Mary
Willsie, Margaret Miller, and Alice Carlson; one brother: Max Smith, and one sister:
Geneva Beck. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Converse Smith, in 1981,
and by a brother, Merrit Smith. Interment was in the Quincy Cemetery.

Cherry, Florence Ullman, 80, of Napoli, NY, died Dec. 5, 1999. She was born June 12,
1919, a daughter of the late Roy and Viola Talcott Ullman. Surviving are a daughter,
Jeanne Giamborone; a son, James Cherry; a sister, Betty Ullman Hund; and three
brothers: Oliver, Charles and Elton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert
Cherry; a sister, Loretta Waterman; and a brother, Frederick. Interment was in the
Napoli Cemetery.

Gilson, Joseph K., 70, formerly of Jamestown and Erie, died Dec. 9, 1999 in his home in San Diego, CA. He was born Oct. 14, 1929 in Bradford, PA., the son of the late Leslie and Sadie Nelson Gilson. Surviving are his daughter: Marilyn Gilson; two brothers: John L. and Thomas Gilson; and a sister, Dorothy G. Gilson. He was preceded in death by a son, Pvt. Douglas Bradley Gilson. Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

McMillan, Harold B., 84, of Cherry Hill, NY died Dec. 14, 1999. He was born Mar. 31,
1915 in town of Cherry Creek, the son of the late William S. and Gertrude Link
McMillan. Surviving is a sister, Pauline Chapman. He was preceded in death by a
brother, Paul W. McMillan, in 1969. Burial was in the Cherry Creek Central Cemetery
in the Village of Cherry Creek.

Clark, Ida Harvey, 90, of Traverse City, MI. She was born Nov. 9, 1909 in East Ottto,
NY. Surviving are two sons: Dale H. Clark and Bruce H. Clark; and a daughter, Shirley
K. Brant. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Stanley Clark, whom she
married on Aug. 20, 1929, and who died in 1992; and by three sisters: Edna Harvey, Vera
VanDenburgh, and Hazel Spires. Interment was in the East Otto, NY Cemetery

Edgar, William R., 49, of Salamanca, died Dec. 13, 1999. He was born May 4, 1950 in
Jamestown, NY, the son of James W. and Cinderella Muriera Edgar. Surviving are his
parents; a son, James R. Edgar; a daughter, Jessica Edgar; and a brother, James G.
Edgar. Burial was in the South Napoli United Methodist Cemetery.

Mohr, Cherrie, 69, of Salamanca, died Dec. 13, 1999. She was born Nov. 10, 1930 in
Hamburg, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Esther Curtiss Tebo. Surviving are
four daughters: Deborah Chudy, Dolores Whitcomb, Bonnie Fluent, and Thelma Ames;
four sons: Michael, Lee, Jess, and Thomas Mohr; one brother: Charles Tebo; and two
sisters: Shirley Heath and Thelma Pascarella. She was predeceased by her husband,
Leland "John" Mohr, whom she married May 8, 1954, and who died Aug. 2, 1971.

Marsh, Janette M., 33, of Randolph, died Dec. 15, 1999. She was born April 26, 1966 ub
Gainesville, FL, the daughter of Donald and Helen Fisher Marsh. In addition to her
mother, she is survived by a daughter, Nichole C. Shugars; three sisters: Helen Parker,
Debbie Booth, and Victoria Walters; five brothers, Richard, Louis and Ricky
Kasharney; and Wolfgang and Karl Marsh. She was predeceased by her father, Donald
Marsh. Burial was in the Sample Hill Cemetery.

Towers, Roger P., 70, of Randolph, died Dec. 15, 1999. He was born Oct. 26, 1929 in
Vonewango, the son of Gordon B. and Effie Parker Towers. Surviving are his wife of 47
years, Shirley Engquist Towers; two sons: Ronald G. and Kenneth R.; three daughters:
Jill M. Towers, Wendy Mazzola, and Sharon L. Anderson; one brother: Arnold Towers;
and three sisters: Louise Hale, Doris Brandt, and Bonnita Guth. He was predeceased by
a sister, Jean Towers. Burial was in the Randolph Cemetery.

home. She was born March 18, 1999, the daughter of Noah E. and Elizabeth M. Shetler
Miller. Besides her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Emmanuel and Levi Miller,
and two sisters, Elle and Emma Miller. Interment in East Amish Cemetery, Conewango,
NY.

Pierce, Richard, 51, of Napoli, died Dec. 16, 1999 in LePorte, IN. Surviving are his wife,
Debra Brown Pierce, whom he married March 7, 1987; four daughters: Rachael Pericak,
Kimberly Wilson, Brandy Pierce, and Brooke Pierce; two brothers: Russell Patrick and
Howard Pierce; and a sister: Birdie Bishop. Burial was in the Aloysius Roman Catholic

Donaldson, Yvonne M., 55, of East Randolph, died Dec. 22, 1999 at home. She was born
Sept. 12, 1944, in Ballston Spa, NY, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Older
Clements. Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Royal J. Donaldson, whom she married
Apr. 7, 1962; two sons: Royal J. Donaldson III, and Jeffrey A. Donaldson; two
daughters: Cathy L Peck and Angela L. Lockwood; two sisters: Marilynn Clements and
Roberta Klementowski; and a brother, Russell Clements.

Sherburne, NY, the son of Smith Herbert and Florence Bell Hodges Palmer. Surviving
are five sons: David S., John W., Peter S., James J., and Stephen E.; and two daughters:
Susan Ashdown and Patricia Staerr. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife
of 56 years, Rhea Ivalo Brown Palmer whom he married Mar. 6, 1942 and who died Dec.
19, 1998; two brothers, Alton and Sidney Palmer; and a sister, Elizabeth Quilken. Burial
was in the East Randolph Cemetery.

Tennies, The Rev. Deforest U., Sr., of East Randolph, died Dec. 23, 1999. He was born
Dec. 17, 1901 in Napoli, the son of Cornelius and Amelia Snyder Tennies. Surviving are
five sons: Glenn C., the Rev. Lloyd D., John S., Newton C., and the Rev. DeForest U.,
Jr.; two daughters, Mary A. Yankovich and Ella Broscious. He was predeceased by his
first wife, Ella Amanda Waggoner, whom he married June 30, 1925, and who died Nov. 7,
1968; and by his second wife, Florence M. Peterson; a daughter, Nellie R. Coffy
Bennink; a son, Philip K. Tennies; five brothers; and two sisters.

Gilson, Joseph K., 70, of SanDiego, CA, died Dec. 9, 1999 in his home. He was born Oct. 14, 1929 in Bradford, the son of the late Leslie and Sadie Nelson Gilson. Surviving are his daughter, Marilyn Gilson; two brothers, John L. and Thomas Gilson; and a sister, Dorothy G. Carlson. He was preceded in death by a son, Pvt. Douglas Bradley Gilson in 1976.

Simcick, Jarod Scott, 18, of Little Valley, NY died Dec. 26, 1999. He was born Oct. 6,
1981 in Springville, NY, the son of Robert T. and Joni Bixby Simcick. Surviving with his
parents are his grandparents, Howard and Eleanor Jean Bixby of Ellicottville and Robert

Winship, Robert, Sr. 78, of Salamanca, NY died Dec 26, 1999. He was born March 3,
1921, son of the late Mark and Marie Ellis Winship. Survived by wife, the former Lucille
Wilson whom he married Sept. 9, 1945; sons Bobbie, George Robert and Perry Winship;
daughters: Carol Winship, Linda Tinsley, and Marilyn Brown. Interment in Little Valley
Rural Cemetery, Little Valley, NY.

Koppenhoffer, Warren T., 81, of Warren, died Jan 27, 2000 in Warren. He was born Jan. 19, 1919, the son of William and Blanche DeWitt Koppenhofer. Surviving are his wife, Bett Bean Koppenhoffer; a daughter, Susan Scenna; and two sons: Michael and Warren "Tom" Koppenhoffer. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

Gilligan, John R., of Greenhurst, died Jan. 26, 2000. He was born Dec. 24, 1908, the son of Joseph and Lavinia Norton Gilligan. Surviving are a son, Richard "John" Gilligan; and two daughters: Sue Blair and Sally Lyons. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Julie Cullen and Mary Dahlbeck. Interment was in Fluvanna Cemetery.

Booth, William, 72, of Westfield, died Jan. 26, 2000 in his home. He was born Nov. 4, 1927, the son of Adelaide Lanz Booth and the late William Booth, Sr. Besides his mother, he is survived by a sister, Cynthia Jennings. Burial was in Pittsburgh.

Chambers, Arthur LeGrande, 85, of Mayville, died Jan. 27, 2000 in his home. He was born Apr. 28, 1914, the son of Arthur L. and Isabelle McMahon Chambers. Surviving are eight daughters: Patricia Kalish, Judith Chambers, Jane Chambers, Anne Chambers, Molly Offermannm Sarah Chambers, Bridget Sukys, and Melissa Wymer; and four sons: A. Andrew, William, Robert, and Charles Chambers. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Harriette Chambers.

Dalrymple, Virginia H., 81, of Sugar Grove, died Jan. 27, 2000. She was born Aug. 9, 1918, the daughter of Clyde Thorpe and Helen Beard. Surviving are two brothers: James and Melvin Thorpe. Ranney, Mary H., 62, of Salamanca, died Jan. 26, 2000 in Great Valley. She was born June 10, 1937, the daughter of the late Clare and Marjorie Pettit Harris. Surviving are a son, Richard Rannet; four daughters: Susan Boser, Julie Holton, Barbara Ranney, and Nancy Daoust; and a brother, James Harris. Burial was in Ellicottville.

Canciglia, Sebastiana Triscari, 87, died Jan. 22, 2000 in Sicily. She was the daughter of Giovanni and Sara Iuculano Triscari. Surviving are six children; and two brothers: Joseph and Giovanni Triscari. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calogero Canciglia; three sisters; and a brother, Sebastiano Triscari. Higbee, Wellman S., 87, of Springville, died Jan. 25, 2000 in Buffalo. He was born June 12, 1912, the son of Reuben and Mabel Scott Higbee. Surviving are his wife, Rena J. Burial was in Liberty Park Cemetery, Cattaraugus.

Parinella, Cyril, 51, of Venice, FL, formerly of Jamestown, died Jan. 25, 2000 in his home. He was born Jan. 4, 1949, the son of Angeline "Jill" :aBarbera Parinella and the late Samuel Parinella. Surviving are four brothers: Anthony, Samuel, Robert, and David Parinella; four sisters: Catherine Martin, Christine Faulkner, and Carol Parinella and Angela Parinella. He was preceded in death by his father, who died in 1988. Burial was in Fredonia.

Bennett, J. Gordon, 77, of Warren, died Jan. 24, 2000 in Youngsville. He was born June 16, 1922, the son of Ray and Dorothy Denniston Bennett. Surviving are his wife, Joyce E. Rapp Bennett; three daughters: Bonnie Russo, Judy Webb, and Susan Pfercky; two sons: Gordon, Jr. and Bryan Bennett; five sisters: Gloria Hamblin, Helen Bennett, Jean Mack, Patricia James and Lucille Irwin; and a brother, Ray Bennett, Jr. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rebecca Bennett; a sister, Diane Park; and a brother, Craig Bennett. Burial was in Warren County Memorial Park.
