HELEN GASIEWSKI ADAMOWICZ, 83, of Rutherford, formerly of Secaucus, died Monday. She was a parishioner of St. Mary R.C. Church, Rutherford. Arrangements: Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home, Rutherford.
 

BERTHA M. ARIAS BAUMGARTNER of Wayne died Monday. She was born in Ecuador. She was a radiologist at the Hospital for Special Surgery and at the Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital, both in New York City. Arrangements: Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
 

KATHLEEN E. FOULKES BEATTIE of Hackensack died Sunday. She was born in England. Before retiring in 1993, she was a sales representative for Stern's Co., Totowa. She was a member of St. Martin Episcopal Church, Maywood, where she was superintendent of the Sunday school. IRA BENOWITZ, 97, of Rutherford died Monday. He had owned Benowitz Hardware, Rutherford. He was an air-raid warden during World War II. He was a founding trustee of the Rutherford Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He was a member of the Bergen County Shrine Club, Salaam Temple of the Shriners Union, and Masonic Lodge 11 in Livingston. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church, Ridgewood. She was a graduate of Montclair State College and was a member of the Ridgewood College Club. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Paterson, and past president of its senior usher board. She was voted outstanding teacher of the year in 1970. She was a member of St. Clement Episcopal Church, Hawthorne. She was a member of the auxiliaries of American Legion Post 199, Hawthorne, and Post 171, Fair Lawn. She was a member of the Martha Washington Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and past president of the Muchachos Auxiliary, both in Hawthorne.
