He also had been a crossing guard at School 4 in Fort Lee. He was a Eucharistic minister and president of the Legion of Mary at Madonna R.C. Church, Fort Lee. CARMELA SEDRAN BRANDT, 90, of Bricktown, formerly of Clifton, died Monday. Born in Italy, she came to the United States in 1921. She had been a self-employed dress designer and maker. Arrangements: Marrocco Memorial Chapel, Clifton.
 

JOSEPHINE GAMBINO BRUNO, 82, of Rochelle Park died Saturday. Before retiring in 1990, she was a teacher for the Lodi public school system, where she worked for 50 years. She was a member of the New Jersey, Bergen County, and Lodi Education associations; the Bergen County Board of Elections, and the Lodi Woman's Club. Arrangements: Alesso Funeral Home, Lodi.
 

WALLACE BUHLER, 82, of Hawthorne, N.Y., formerly of Norwood, died Friday. He had been a construction executive for Corbetta Construction Co. in the Bronx, where he worked for 45 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He had been active in Norwood borough government and the school board. Arrangements: Beecher Funeral Home, Pleasantville, N.Y.

MARIANO CARDILE, 88, of Hawthorne, formerly of Lodi, died Sunday. Before retiring in 1965, he was a presser for Hackensack Dress Co. He also had owned M & J Pork Store, Lodi. PERLE SCHRAM LIFSHOTZ, 78, of Wayne died Saturday. Before retiring last year, she was a bookkeeper for Century Engineering, Clifton. He was a graduate of Slippery Rock (Pa.) Teachers College and received a master's degree from Fairfield University. He was a member of the New Jersey and National Education associations, the American Association of School Administrators, and the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. JAMES M. HUGHES of Fort Lee died Thursday. Before retiring in 1980, he was a partner at Bigham, Englar, Jones & Houston, New York City, where he worked for 38 years. He was a graduate of City College of New York and St. John's University Law School. He was admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the District Courts for Southern and Eastern New York, and New York State courts. He had also been an assistant attorney general for New York State. He was a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association, the Catholic Speakers Assembly, the Knights of Columbus, and the Telistians. ROBERT A. SZABO, 52, of West Milford, formerly of Garfield, died Friday. He was a safety specialist for the New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles, Lodi. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2867 Benda-Roehrich, Garfield, and the National Chapter of the American Legion, and was a Purple Heart recipient.
