JOSEPH BATESKO, 80, of Clifton died Sunday. Before retiring in 1974, he worked for Curtiss-Wright Co., Wood-Ridge, for 35 years. An Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Pavlik-Koster Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wallington, and the Disabled American Veterans, Clifton. She had been a domestic worker, worked in a bookbinding factory, and been a saleswoman for Meyer Bros. department store, Paterson. She was a member of First AME Zion Church, its Women's Missionary Board, and the Excelsior Club, all in Paterson. She was a member of Mount Pleasant AME Zion Church, Statesville, N.C. EDWARD W. STRUNCK, 73, of Secaucus died Friday. He had been a helper at Franklin Smith Electrical Supply Co., Secaucus, where he worked for many years. He had served in the U.S. merchant marine. ELIZABETH "BETTY" BENINCASA DE LORENZO, 93, of Hackensack died Monday. She was born in Italy. Before retiring in 1953, she owned Betty's Luncheonette, Bogota. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Episcopal Church, Hackensack, and its Ladies Guild. She was a member of the Friendly Club and Golden Age Club, both in Hackensack. JOHN JACOB HASBROUCK, 76, of Jersey City died Sunday. Before retiring, he was a journalist and political editor for The Hudson Dispatch. He also served as secretary to the mayors of Hoboken and North Bergen. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Jersey City. MAUREEN RITA O'CONNELL HOEY, 59, of Randolph, formerly of Rutherford and Lyndhurst, died Sunday. MARY B. MURRAY KELLY of Fair Lawn died Saturday. Before retiring, she had been a teacher for homebound children. She was a parishioner of St. Catharine R.C. Church, Glen Rock. He was past president and trustee of the Boys' and Girls' Club, a lifetime member of the Police Benevolent Association, and former director and temporary chairman of the YMCA, all in Garfield. He was also a former director of the Passaic Valley United Way. He was a former member of the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission's affirmative action compliance committee. He was a former director of the N.J. Savings and Loan Association. He was a member of the North Jersey Credit and Trade Club.
