Laconia---Robert J. Angliss, 76, of 41 Crimson Drive, Laconia, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Saturday, after a short illness. Mr. Angliss was born December 29, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Joseph D. and Emma (Davison) Angliss. Mr. Angliss had been a resident of Laconia for the past year, coming from Jay, VT. He had served in the US Army Air Force during WWII as a pilot . He flew 51 combat missions. He was a member of the American Legion in Jay, VT. Mr. Angliss retired in 1985 from RCA in New York City as Executive Vice-President. He had been employed at RCA for 35 years first starting out as a messenger boy. In 1985 he moved to Jay, VT. and owned and operated the Jay Village Inn for many years. Mr. Angliss was a communicant of Our Lady of The Lakes Church. Survivors include his wife Jane Curran Angliss of Laconia; a son Mark Angliss of Golden, Colorado; 2 daughters Robin Merante of Garden City, New York and Kim Ryysylainen of Yorktown Hights, New York; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; his father-in-law Robert W. Curran, Sr. of Laconia; 3 brothers-in-law and their wives Kevin and Prudy Curran of Kennebunkport, Maine, William and Deborah Curran of Gilford and Robert and Donna Curran, Jr of Gilford and a sister-in-law and her husband Mary and Frank Rogan of Plymouth, MA and families. Calling hours will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, Tuesday, February 6, 2001 from 7-9 PM using the Carriage House entrance. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of The Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Wednesday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. George Soberick, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia. Mary Ethel Bennett 
GILMANTON, NH-- Mary Ethel Bennett, 91, of Sunbridge for Wolfeboro, and formerly of 94 Valley Shore Rd, Shell Camp Lake, Gilmanton, died in Wolfeboro on Wednesday afternoon, February 7, 2001.
Born in Boston, MA, May 4, 1909, she was the daughter of J. Leo and Clara (Valliere) Burke. She had lived in Gilmanton since 1979, coming here from Lynn, MA. She had been a resident of Wolfeboro since October 1998.
Mrs. Bennett worked for many years in the shoe industry in Lynn, MA, retiring in 1974. She also worked for GE in the grinding department.
Family members include 6 nieces 2 nephews, and many friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Ernest L. Bennett and 2 sisters, Eleanor Griswold and Doris Benjamin.
There are no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held in the spring in Beech Grove Cemetery, Gilmanton, NH.

Donald B. Blinn 
Bridgeport, CT---Donald B. Blinn, 69, formerly of Bridgeport, CT died at the Hillsboro County Nursing Home, Goffstown, NH on February 18, 2001. Mr. Blinn was born on February 18, 1932 in Bridgeport, the son of Alfred B. and Julia M.(Nichols) Blinn. He had been a long time resident of the Bridgeport area before moving to Hobe Sound, FL in 1983. Mr. Blinn has been a resident ot New Hampshire since 1998. Donald served in the US Air Force during the Korean War from 1951-1954. Mr. Blinn attended RCA Institutes in New York City. He was employed by Avco Lycoming as an Instrumentation Technician and than was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft both in Stratford and West Palm Beach, FL as an Aircraft Instrumentation Technician. Survivors include his former wife Beverly W. Blinn of Trumbull, CT.; his 2 daughters Sharon L. Blinn of Bridgeport, CT. and Sandra J. Haines and her husband Jason of Monroe, CT.; 2 sons Donald Blinn Jr. and his wife Virginia of Wallingford, CT., and Kenneth M. Blinn and his wife Stacey of Stratford, CT.; one brother Harry Blinn and his wife Elaine of Gilford, NH.; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Irene B. Bowles
Laconia, NH-----Mrs. Irene B. Bowles, 90, formerly of 22 Wallace Court, died on February 12, 2001, at the St. Francis Home in Laconia, NH. She was the widow of James D. Bowles, Jr. who died in 1973. Mrs. Bowles was born August 30, 1910 in Hanover, MA, the daughter of George T. & Mary (Parsons) Creehan. She was a long time resident of Hanover and Whitman, Massachusetts. She moved to Laconia, NH in 1974.
Mrs. Bowles was a swimming instructor at Camp Wadaga on Pitchwood Island as well as a Red Cross instructor. During WWII, she was a factory worker. Irene, who was known by most people simply as "Nana" enjoyed people, cats, crafts, bingo, cooking and especially swimming at her camp on Pitchwood Island on Lake Winnipesaukee with her children and grandchildren. She and her husband purchased the first house that came up for sale on the island. As a child, Irene was faced with many childhood illnesses and spent much of her childhood at the Boston Children's Hospital. For a while she could not speak, walk or eat. Her father who visited every afternoon would push her in a wheelchair four miles to the ocean where she would swim like a fish for hours on end where the daily swimming sessions increased Irene's stamina and eventually she was able to walk again. Irene's childhood swimming led to competitive swimming and a decorated swimming career which included 59 championship swimming cups, 378 medals, the AAAU and National titles in the freestyle and backstroke from 50 yards to 1/2 mile. In 1923/1924 she swept the Boston Swimming Championships in the 25 yard, 50 yard, and 100 yard meets in backstroke and diving. She was invited to participate in the 1928 Olympics in Amsterdam, Holland. Mrs. Bowles was a member of The Congregational Church of Laconia, NH and a former member of the Rockland, MA Congregational Church. She was a member of the parish activities committee.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna M. Bertrand of Laconia, NH; three grandchildren, Peter Gianunzio and his wife Pauline of Meredith, NH; Paulette Gianunzio and her boyfriend Ian Meredith of Newmarket, NH; and Robbie Bertrand of Laconia, NH; a sister, Ruth Foley of Weymouth, MA; and 5 nieces, Ruth Wyman, Mary Ellen Mohr, Dolores Metayer, Diana McKenna and Beverly Creehan; also Patricia Kelleher childhood friend of Donna Bertrand and also Patricia Fowler in-home caregiver for Irene for the past several years. She was predeceased by a brother George F. Creehan and a sister, Bertha Edna Creehan.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at the Congregational Church of Laconia, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, NH at 9:30AM. Rev. E. Barent Grevatt, Pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow in the family lot in Hanover Center Cemetery, Hanover, MA at 2:00 PM.

Gilford-----Clement E. Dickson, 83, formerly of 303 Old Lake Shore Road, died Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at the Golden View Health Care Center in Meredith. He was the widower of Vilada (Laurent) Dickson who died in January, 1999.
Mr. Dickson was born October 7, 1917, in Laconia, NH, the son of Alex & Rose Aimee (Labbe) Dickson. He lived in Portland, Connecticut for 29 years and was a long time resident of Laconia, NH. He was a truck driver for California Oil Co./Chevron from 1951 to 1980. He also worked part time at Foley Oil Co. on South Main St. as a gas attendant.
Mr. Dickson was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia, NH
Survivors include a son, Roger C. Dickson of Gilford, NH; a sister, Marie Demick of Manchester, NH; and many nephews and nieces.

Laconia--------Jakob W. Donohue of 192 Union Avenue, infant son of Maria Birkbeck and Robert Donohue, died suddenly at home on February 8, 2001.
Jakob was born October 20, 2000 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, NH.
Survivors, including his parents, are two sisters, Ekko Simonds and Kaylie Donohue both of Laconia; his maternal grandparents, Ann Allen of Franklin, NH and Rick Doucette of Florida; his paternal grandparents, Albert & Rita Donohue of Belmont, NH; his paternal great grandmother, Carolyn Brown of Belmont; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gilford-------Sean P. Flaherty, 46, of 303 Old Lakeshore Road, died at his home on February 11, 2001. He was born April 22, 1954 in Winchester, MA the son of Joseph E. & Margery (Poland) Flaherty.
Mr. Flaherty attended Wentworth Institute, Boston, MA. and was employed as an inspector at New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Laconia for over 20 years. He was a member of the Labor Union. Survivors include his mother Margery (Poland) Flaherty of Gilford ; five brothers, Neil J. Flaherty of Gilford, Paul J. Flaherty of Standish, Maine, Owen E. Flaherty of Houston, TX, Joseph E. Flaherty of Laconia, NH, and Cpt. Michael Flaherty of Fort Jackson, S. C.; two sisters, Mary Pappedemas of Annisquam, MA and Regis Garvey of Sioux City, Iowa; 13 nephews and nieces. Boston, MA----Jeana M. Fritz, 36, of Boston, MA., died at her home Saturday, February 11, 2001. Miss Fritz was born May 10, 1964 in Salem, MA. She had been a resident of Boston for the past 15 years coming from Billerica, MA. She had been employed as a CNA. Survivors include her mother Elaine (Cagnola) and husband Harry Blinn of Gilford, NH; her father Vincent P. Fritz and wife Catherine of Sandwich, MA; her paternal grandmother Margaret Packard of FL.; 3 brothers Vincent Fritz of Everett, Anthony Blinn of Nashua, NH and Jeffrey Blinn of Arvada, CO.; 2 sisters Alanna Blinn of Gilford, NH and Janella Fritz of Eagan, MN.; several nephews and nieces. Daniel A. Gaudet 
Laconia----- Daniel A. Gaudet, 56, of 770 Weirs Blvd., died at the Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston, MA., Saturday, February 17, 2001. Mr. Gaudet was born April 21, 1944 in Laconia, the son of Henry E. and Yvonne (Fradette) Gaudet. He had lived in Laconia most of his life. Mr. Gaudet graduated from Laconia High School in 1962. He served in the US Army during Vietnam and was a member of the DAV. Mr. Gaudet was the owner of Top Dog Grooming Salon in Concord. Danny had fomerly worked at the Gaudet family Weirs Drive-in Theatre for many years. Survivors include his wife Patty Lou of Laconia; nephews Donny Drouin of St. Paul, MN, David Drouin of Rindge, NH, Garth Abatiell of Long Beach, CA; nieces Donna Mae Bodie of Boca Raton, FL, Sara Beth Baer of Cloverdale, CA, Denise Drouin of Jonesville, VA; and his dogs Bogart and Daphne. He was predeceased by his parents and 2 sisters Pauline Drouin and Barbara Abatiell. Sanbornton-- Martha E. Joerg, 91, of 258 Upper Bay Road, Sanbornton, and formerly of Rt.3 , Belmont, died at home, Saturday, February 17, 2001.
Ms. Joerg was born on July 31, 1909 in Nutley, New Jersey, the daughter of John H. and Anna (Hosbach) Joerg.
Ms. Joerg was employed as a paper sorter at the George Lamont & Son, Company in Nutley, NJ. for many years, retiring in 1969.
Survivors include her nephew, Ray Kievit and his family of Sanbornton. Ms. Joerg was predeceased by a sister Amelia J. Kievit.

Laconia------Edmond G. LaRoche, 73, of 28 Crescent Street, died at his home onThursday, February 8, 2001.
Mr. LaRoche was born January 19, 1928, in Laconia, NH, the son of Henry & Lula (Torsey) LaRoche. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a life long resident of Laconia and worked for Scott & Williams in the sales department for many years. He also was employed at Madeira USA Ltd. Laconia, and as a custodian at Sun Rise Towers in Laconia.
Mr. LaRoche was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Laconia. He was a former member and past president of the Tardiff Park Association.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa (Pelletier) LaRoche of Laconia; one son, Henry LaRoche of Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida; two daughters, Kathleen Gilman of Laconia and Diane Thurber of Arlington, VA; 6 grandchildren, Matthew and Leslie Gilman, both of Laconia, Christine & Anna Thurber, both of Arlington, VA, and Brandon & Andrew LaRoche, both of Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida; his mother, Lula LaRoche of Laconia; his twin brother, Edward LaRoche of Laconia; a sister, Marion Heath of Laconia; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father and a sister, Marie Weatherbee.

Eleanor (Hibbard) Lindsay
Gilford-------Mrs. Eleanor (Hibbard) Lindsay, 83, of 148 Watson Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia on February 19, 2001. Mrs. Lindsay was the widow of Roger M. Lindsay.
Mrs. Lindsay was born June 29, 1917 in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire, the daughter of Fred S. & Blanche L. (Aldrich) Hibbard. She was a longtime resident of Gilford, NH. Mrs. Lindsay was a hairdresser and also worked at the Globe Department Store in Gilford. Mrs. Lindsay also worked for Kellerhaus and Kellerhaus Catering. She was a Trustee for the Gilford Public Library for many years and was involved in many community activities. She, along with her husband, was one of the original members of the Winnipesaukee Yacht Club.
Survivors included one son, David Lindsay of Kansas; three daughters, Manus Lindsay of Gilford, NH, Tamar Lindsay of Maryland and Lisa Foster of Oregon; two grandchildren, Ellen McGlauflin of New Boston, NH and Cailinn Drouin-Lindsay of Kansas; two great grandchildren, Sarah and Heather McGlauflin; a sister, Josephine Chausse of Illinois; four brothers, Fred Hibbard, Jr. of Littleton, NH; Harry Hibbard of N. Weymouth, MA; Stuart Hibbard of W. Franklin, NH; and Lester Hibbard of Northwood, NH; a stepbrother, Clarence Avery, Jr. of Plymouth, NH, and many nephews and nieces.

Regina M. "Jeannie" MacKinnon 
LACONIA-- Regina M. "Jeannie" MacKinnon, 51, of 31 Gilbert St, Laconia, died at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, on Friday morning, February 23, 2001 after a sudden illness.
Born in Laconia on February 23, 1950, she was the daughter of Mary (Tardy) and Morris Lumbra. She had lived in Laconia all of her life.
MacKinnon worked for Laconia Shoe for many years and after the closing of the shoe company, went to work for many years at Star Specialty as a machine operator.
She was a member of the Laconia Lodge of the Elks, # 876.
Family members include her husband, Derek V. MacKinnon of Laconia; a son, Troy Edgerly of Laconia; 3 daughters, Tina Stone of Belmont, Torilynn Edgerly of Laconia and Tami Edgerly of Laconia; grandchildren; her mother, Mary (Tardy) Senna of Belmont, her father Morris Lumbra of Lakeport; a sister, Wanda Taylor of Northfield, NH and a niece.

Lester D. Patt, Jr. 
LACONIA, NH-- Lester D. Patt, Jr, 89, of 175 Blueberry Lane, and formerly of Diane Dr, Belmont, died at Genesis ElderCare Network-Laconia Center on Sunday evening, February 18, 2001.
Born in New Bedford, MA, July 10, 1911, he was the son of Lester D. and Norma (Dove) Patt, Sr. He had lived in Belmont for more than 20 years, moving to Laconia in 1998. Prior to moving to NH, he and his wife lived in Merrik, Long Island, NY for many years.
Mr. Patt was known for his great sense of humor and his ability to play practical jokes.
He was a mason and a member of the Morton-Montauk Lodge on Long Island, NY.
Mr. Patt worked for TWA for over 40 years, retiring as a technical engineer.
Family members include his wife, Blanche V. (Burlon) Patt of Laconia; a brother, Donald Patt of Boston, MA; a sister, Norma Vaiden of NC and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Pesch was born November 22, 1910 in Essen, Germany, the daughter of Hubert & Elizabeth (Tullman) Helten.
Mrs. Pesch was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Laconia, NH and a former communicant of St. Raphael's Church in Venice, Florida.
Survivors include a son, Norman Pesch of Daytona Beach, Florida; three daughters, Helga Garger of Laconia, NH, Rosemarie Bolla-Brannon of Long Beach, California, and Karen Pesch of Rochester, New York; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a sister, Elsa Pelkowske of Essen, Germany; nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Hubert Helten of Island of Silt, Germany.

Gilford----Mrs. Theresa B. Thompson, 74, of 42 Watson Road, died on Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at the Belknap County Nursing Home, Laconia.
Mrs. Thompson was born November 28, 1926 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Narcisse & Blanche (Valliere) Breton. Mrs. Thompson had been a resident of Laconia until she moved to Gilford in 1964. She was an assembler at Metz Electric for several years.
Mrs. Thompson was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, James C. Thompson, of Gilford, NH; a daughter and her husband, Patricia & Roger Houle of Bedford, NH; 3 grandchildren, Kimberly Mannion of Milford, NH; Scott Houle of Mont Vernon, NH, and Brett Houle of Gilford, NH; 3 great grandchildren; five sisters, Aldea Lacroix, Janet Drouin, and Lorraine Rudzinski all of Laconia; Helen Gilman of Brandenton, Florida and Alma Johnson of California; two brothers, Richard Breton of California and Raymond Breton of Hudson, NH; and many nephews and nieces.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor of the church, will officiate. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.

Marlene Turgeon
BELMONT, NH-- Marlene Turgeon, 61, of 570 State Rd, Belmont, died at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, on Wednesday morning, February 14, 2001.
Born in Franklin, NH on August 31, 1939, she was the daughter of Zip and Margaret (Lowed) Glasman. She had lived in Belmont for the past 19 years, coming here from Laconia.
Mrs. Turgeon worked for Molex for 23 years as a team leader.
She was a member of the Women's Bowling League and the Mixed Couples Bowling League.
Mrs. Turgeon was an avid gardener, and lover of the outdoors. She had a great admiration for horses. She owned her own horse and enjoyed horseback riding and showing horses.
Family members include 3 sons, James C. Jenot Jr, of West Virginia, William Jenot of Belmont and Raymond Jenot of Florida; a daughter, Sharon Tardif of Belmont; 2 grandchildren, Alicha Jenot of Gilford and Shelly Jenot of Florida; one sister, Joyce Rogers of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her companion, Maurice "Ben" Benwell of Belmont. She is also survived by her late companion's family.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home following the visitation at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2001. George Hankins-Hull, Spiritual Care Coordinator at Lakes Region General Hospital, will officiate. The Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
