BURGAW — Garland Lawton Price, 81, of the Westside Senior House died Monday, February 26.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 2, at 10 a.m. from Forest Hills Baptist Church in Burgaw. The Rev. Fitzhugh Fennell, church pastor, will officiate. Entombment with Masonic rites will follow in the Riverview Memorial Park Mausoleum. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth McCullen Price, just two months ago.
The family was to have received friends Thursday evening 7 until 9 p.m. at Harrell’s Funeral Home and other times at their residence at 304 West Bridgers Street.

James Gustave Boyle
GOLDSBORO — James G. Boyle, 82, of 1901 Palm Street, died Sunday evening, February 25, in Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Crematory, 2890 Hwy 117 South, Goldsboro with the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating.

William C. Gillespie
William C. Gillespie, 55, of 400 Central Ave., Albany NY, and formerly of Mount Olive, NC, died Saturday, February 24, at the Stanton VA Hospital in Albany, NY.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 3, from New St. Delight United Holy Church, Mount Olive, with the Rev. Quincy Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro, NC.
The wake will be held Friday, March 2, from 2-6:30 p.m. at Mount Olive Funeral Home, Mount Olive.
The family will receive friends at 103 S. Church St., Mount Olive.

Melvin Foss
WILMINGTON — Jerry Melvin Foss, 76, died Tuesday morning, February 27, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law at 4905 Tupelo Drive in Wilmington.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 2, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. The Rev. Ashley Summerlin will officiate. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery near Mount Olive. 
His wife, Audrey Blackman Foss preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Johnny Kornegay, Russell Jackson, Buddy Foss, Bud Foss, Denny Thompson, and Kelly Tisdale.

Joyce P. Cottle
FAISON—Mrs. Joyce Faye Price Cottle, 58, a resident of both Faison and Cape Coral, Florida, died Saturday evening, February 24, at her home in Cape Coral.
A funeral service was held Thursday, March 1, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. The Rev. Chuck Jolley officiated. Interment was in Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro. 
Her father, David John Price preceded her in death.
Pallbearers were Jimmy King, Scott Lane, Mark Bass, Jeff Williams, Carroll Cottle, and Shelton Price.

Sarah Uldine Johnson
Mrs. Sarah Uldine Williamson Johnson, 77, died Tuesday morning, February 27, in Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
A private burial was held in Grants Chapel Church Cemetery near Seven Springs.
She was also the mother of the late June Glowner and sister of the late Reginald Williamson.
Arrangements were by Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive.

Roxie L. Stevenson
GOLDSBORO—Roxie Lee Dail Stevenson, 85, of Kirkwood Apartments, 2710 Langston Drive, died Wednesday morning, February 28, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, March 2 in Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating.
The family was to have received friends Thursday night from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of her granddaughter, Linda and Foy Daniels, 1011 Outlaw Road, Dudley, NC 28333.

Robert Walston
DUDLEY--Robert Walston, 61, died Sunday, March 25 at the home of his son.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, March 28, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home of Goldsboro with the Rev. C.R. Holder officiating. Burial was in Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro.

Margaret Jones Joyner
ELM CITY -- Margaret Jones Joyner, 72, died Monday, March 26.
A graveside service was held Thursday, March 29, in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Wilson.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home, Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount.

Sallie P. Edwards
SEVEN SPRINGS--Sallie Price Edwards, 54, of 1909 Pineview Cemetery Road, died Tuesday morning, March 27, in University Medical Center of Eastern Carolina in Greenville.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Otto Griffin, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Price Family Cemetery on Billy Price Road, Seven Springs.

Rupert A. Price
PRICETOWN--Rupert A. Price, 75, of 615 Atlas Price Road, Seven Springs, died Tuesday evening, March 27, in Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
A service of remembrance was held Wednesday, March 28, at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. Dr. Bill Almond and the Rev. Mike Grady officiated. A graveside committal service was held Thursday, March 29, at 11 a.m. in Pineview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Trey Aycock, Alex Price, Will Aycock, Michael Peters, McKinley Price, and Jake Price.
The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation c/o Pike’s Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2494 Pikeville-Princeton Road, Pikeville, NC 27863, in honor of his granddaughter, Emily.

Rev. Gertrude M. Melvin
A funeral service for the Rev. Gertrude M. Melvin, 80, of 205 West Maple Street, will be held Saturday, August 4, at 11 a.m. from Gospel Light Holy Church. Burial will follow in Carver Memorial Park.

GOLDSBORO — Gracie Christine Bennett, 76, of 1905 East Holly Street, Apt. A, died Wednesday evening, July 25, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 18, at 11 a.m. from Hastings Cemetery on Oakland Church Road in the Rosewood community.
Arrangements were by Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 2, from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. The Rev. Don Craft officiated. Burial was in Oak Ridge Memorial Park near Pink Hill.

FAISON—Ray Lee Taylor Sr., 72, died Tuesday, July 31, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 2, from Faison United Methodist Church. Burial was in Faison Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Community Funeral Home of Warsaw. 

Allene Heath Hood
Mrs. Allene Heath Hood, 72, of 625 Crow’s Foot Road, died Monday, July 30, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 2, from Falling Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Varner and the Rev. Danny Benfield officiating. Burial was in Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro.
The family received friends Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times will be at her residence.

Mrs. Annie Elizabeth McPhail, 80, of 2017 Crawford Road, Raleigh, formerly of Newton Grove, died Saturday, July 28, at Wake Medical Center.
A funeral service was held Thursday, August 2, at 3 p.m. from the Cedar Point Disciple Church with Bishop E.V. George officiating. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery.
The wake was held Thursday from 1-3 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements were by Mount Olive Funeral Home, Mount Olive.

Jewell Matthews Hart of Hampstead died Tuesday, July 31, at her residence.
A private memorial service will be held.

A funeral service was held Sunday, September 30, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Morris and Dr. Burkette Raper officiating. Burial was in Fairfiew Cemetery.

NEWTON GROVE -- Edison J. “E.J.” Martin of 1210 Roanoke Road, Newton Grove, died Monday, October 1. 
A graveside service was held Thursday, October 4, at 11 a.m. in Hillcrest Cemetery, Newton Grove with the Rev. Michael Preddy and the Rev. Bobby Barefoot officiating.
Arrangements were by West and Dunn Funeral Home in Newton Grove.

Amber Southerland
WARSAW -- Amber Southerland, 31, died Wednesday, October 3, at home, following a battle with cancer.
A funeral service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 4, from Calvary Baptist Church, 709 Memorial Drive, Warsaw. The Rev. Tim Gore officiated. Music was provided by Nancy Rouse, Joie Gore, and Paul Bennett, Visitation followed the service.
Burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday morning, October 5, in Devotional Gardens of Warsaw.
Donations may be directed to the State Employees Credit Union, P.O. Box 548, Kenansville, NC. 28349 for further education of her daughter, Aubriana. Checks should be made payable to Aubrianna Kay-Leigh Balderas.

Leonard Wiggins
NEW BERN -- Leonard “Bill” W. Wiggins, 71, of New Bern, died Sunday, September 30, at Craven Regional Medical Center.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, October 3, in Lakeside Chapel Greenleaf Memorial Park with the Rev. Konneth Dixon officiating.
Burial was in Greenleaf Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
