GOLDSBORO — Mrs. Leonia Adams Price, 92, died early Saturday morning, March 25, in Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service was held Sunday, March 26, at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Braxton Carter officiating. A committal service and burial was held Monday, March 27, at 11 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery.

GOLDSBORO — Paul Joseph Aromando Sr., 74, of Royall Avenue, Apt. 104, died Friday, March 24, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A graveside service was held on Monday, March 27, at 2 p.m. in Willow Dale Cemetery.

GOLDSBORO—Retired Master Sergeant David Douglas Chesson, 68, of 209 North Harding Drive, died Saturday, March 25, at his home.

PINK HILL—Emily Joyce Taylor, 70, of 463 Jonestown Rd. died Saturday, March 25, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Bethel Baptist Church, Jonestown Road, with Pastor Jimmie Williams officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family was to have received friends Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Pink Hill Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Earnest Lee "Boone" Robinson died Thursday, March 23, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro, following an extended illness.
A funeral service was held Monday at 2:30 p.m. from Jackson Tabernacle, Franklin Street, with the Rev. Roosevelt Herring officiating. Burial was in Carver Memorial Park.
The family will be at the Robinson home, 123 E. Williamson St.

John M. Goodson, 93, a native of the Garners Chapel community in Duplin County, died Sunday afternoon, November 24, at home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.

Jimmy Kelly
Jimmy Kelly of 969 N.C. 403 West died Wednesday, November 27, at his home.
He was a deputy with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Department and was husband of the late Dearie G. Kelly.
The family will receive friends at the home of Cindy and Robin Strickland at 107 Price Street in Mount Olive.

JAMES A. DOBSON 
James Alderman Dobson, 86, died Wednesday at home.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Taylor-Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Snow Hill. Burial, with Masonic rites and American Legion honors, will be in Snow Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Dobson was a U.S. Navy veteran and a former resident of Snow Hill. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Snow Hill, Radiance Lodge #132, and Shirley Hill Post #94 of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Vaughan Dobson of the home; daughters, Lois Dobson Bennet of Berea, Ky., and Linda Dobson Edwards of Morganton; stepchildren, Geraldine Murphy and Linda Linton of Wilson, Gayla Tedder of Snow Hill and Gordon Joyner of Kinston; sisters, Doris Odom of Baltimore, Md., and Janet Suttles of Holly Ridge; a brother, Arnold Dobson of Burgaw; grandchildren, Vera Edwards Kasayulie of Akiachuck, Alaska, Lisa Edwards Grigini of Greensboro, Celia Edwards Amos of Anchorage, Alaska, Alessa Edwards of Greensboro, and Tanya Edwards of Charlotte; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the residence at 405 Green Drive in Goldsboro.

ETHEL ARTIS 
The funeral for Ethel Artis, 83, was to be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Woods Chapel Church with the Rev. Ricky L. Dawson officiating. Burial was to be in Turner Swamp Cemetery.
Mrs. Artis died Monday at Fremont Rest Center.
She was the daughter of the late Joe Ashley and Mamie Exum Smith.
Surviving are five sons, Marvin Ray Artis and Donnelver L. Artis of Detroit, Mich., Sherman C. Artis of Stone Mountain, Ga., Thurman O. Artis of Mount Vernon, N.Y., and Craston M. Artis of Beaver Creek, Ohio; a daughter, Annette A. Mills of Spring Hope; a brother, John Smith of Deland, Fla.; and 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

DAVID M. BAREFOOT 
FOUR OAKS -- David Marshall Barefoot, 81, of 1560 Elevation Road, died Thursday at home.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Four Oaks Cemetery.
Mr. Barefoot was a native of Johnston County and was the son of the late Bert Barefoot and Flonnie Mac Stewart Barefoot.
He is survived by his wife, Rozelle Wise Barefoot; a son, David Marshall Barefoot Jr.; brothers, Wilson Barefoot of Canton, Charlie Barefoot of Garner and Roland Barefoot of Four Oaks; sisters, Alma Pearson of Four Oaks and Rena Denning of Benson; and two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Minshew Funeral Home.

Letha Mae Capps Bedford, 72, of 2800 Ridgecrest Drive, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
She was the widow of Elijah Bedford and was a retired employee of General Electric where she was a member of the Tom Club. She also was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Carla P. Bedford of Goldsboro; half brothers, Braxton Pate of Woodbridge, Va., Earl Capps of Durham and Cornelius Head of Goldsboro; half sisters, Sally Hall of Fremont, Kate Turnage of Ayden and Estelle Ballance of Goldsboro; and two grandchildren, Chad Bedford of Newport News, Va., and Jason Bedford of Goldsboro.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Bedford.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bedford at 2801 Ridgecrest Drive.

MARSHALL BYRD 
FAISON -- Marshall Byrd, 85, of 109 Ellis St., died Thursday night at Duplin General Hospital.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Faison United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Lowe officiating. Interment will be in Faison Cemetery.
Mr. Byrd was a retired farmer and was the son of the late Thomas J. and Mary Etta Precythe Byrd.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Chestnutt Byrd; his children, Mitchell and Janet Byrd of Cary, Dallas and Jean Byrd of Mount Olive, Stanley and Ann Byrd of Mount Olive, Kenneth and Gail Byrd of Upper Marlboro, Md., Helen and Dexter Jackson of Mount Olive, and Jimmy and Patsy Byrd of Faison; and 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Hilary Megan Heath and Lydia Morgan Heath of Warsaw; his parents, Woodrow Heath and wife Mary Lou of Wilmington; two sisters, Cindy Lou Britt of Fort Benning, Ga., and Jessica Leigh Heath of Wilmington; and two brothers, Brent Wood Heath of Burgaw and David Lewis Heath of Wilmington.

TROY JONES SR. 
The funeral for Troy Jones Sr. will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Delight Church in Kenly. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Jones is survived by four sons, Troy Jones Jr. and Freddie Jones of Rocky Mount, Micheal Earl Jones of Newport News, Va., and Jefferson Jones of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two daughters, Helen Jean Jones and Judy Carol Jones of Rocky Mount; seven brothers, Bobby Jones of Goldsboro, Roy Jones and Sylvester Jones of Hampton, Va., Carl Jones of Hamlet, Herman Jones of Smithfield, Thomas T.J. Jones of Fremont and Linwood Jones of New York; three sisters, Beatrice Bracher of Durham, Carolyn Mack of Queens, N.Y., and Creather Bass of Goldsboro; and 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The wake will be held tonight from 7 until 8 at Rhodes Funeral Home in Fremont.

MAGNOLIA -- James L. Lewis, 76, of 972 N.C. South 50 Hwy., died Thursday night at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Garris Funeral Home in Mount Olive.

CHARLIE SAMPSON 
FAISON -- The funeral for Charlie Sampson, 76, of 2611 Hwy. 403, will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Hills Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Faison. Officiating ministers will be his son, the Rev. Charlie Sampson, and the Rev. Gary H. Cannon Sr. Burial will be in Cobb Cemetery.
Mr. Sampson died Saturday at Duplin General Hospital.
His other survivors include his wife, Ethel Mae Sampson of the home; another son, Jimmy M. Sampson of Chute, Wisc., a daughter, Michelle Sampson of the home; three brothers, Calvin Sampson of Philadelphia, Lonnie Sampson of Chicago and David Sampson of Durham; three sisters, Mattie Pugh and Elizabeth Sones of Durham; and Mary Ann Sloan of Faison; and four grandchildren.
The viewing will be Saturday from 3 until 7 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home and the family will be there to receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m.
The funeral procession will line up at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home.

WILSON -- Louise Carter Thomas, 78, died Thursday.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shackleford Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband, George Thomas; daughters, Carolyn Henry, Teresa Wheeler and Ann Baker, all of Wilson; sons, Bobby Thomas of Lucama and George Thomas Jr. of Snow Hill; sisters, Dorothy Hayes and Bonnie Bailey of Wilson; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

SADIE W. VINSON 
GREENVILLE -- Sadie Watson Vinson, 78, died Thursday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Oakmont Baptist Church. The Rev. Greg Rogers will officiate. A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Vinson family cemetery in Wayne County.
Mrs. Vinson was born in Wilson County, grew up in Wayne County, and had lived in Greenville for the past 38 years. She was a member of Oakmont Baptist Church and its W.M.U. and G.A. organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dee Wood Vinson, and is survived by three sons, Dee Wood Vinson Jr. of Greenville, Mike Vinson of Laurinburg, and Bill Vinson of Greenville.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7 until 9 at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Greenville.

RANDY WILLIAMS 
The funeral for Randy "BoDean" Williams will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Greater Guiding Star Holy Church. The Rev. Joseph Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Williams is survived by two sons, Travis Sutton of Morganton and Cory Sutton of Goldsboro; a daughter, Toya Hooper of Portsmouth, Va.; three brothers, Bobby Williams of Apex, Charles Williams of Washington, D.C., and Glenn Williams of Goldsboro; seven sisters, Betty Williams, Phyllis Williams, Cindy Williams, Susie Williams, and E. Gerald Heath-Braswell of Goldsboro, Viletta Knight of Fair Banks, Alaska, and Patricia Rodgers of Randletown, Md.
The viewing will be at Rhodes Funeral Home today from 4 until 7 and will be followed by a wake from 7 until 8 p.m.
The funeral procession will line up at the home of Betty Williams at 126 Vanderbilt Circle.
