SALLY MITCHELL METZGER
Sally Mitchell Metzger, 74, of 1080 St. Joseph Street, Carolina Beach, NC, died Monday, February 26, 2001 at Mariner Health Care in Wilmington, NC.
She is survived by her husband, William E. Metzger Jr. of the home; two daughters, Patricia Anderson and Catherine Patrick, both of Florence, SC; and three grand|children.
A memorial service is being planned and arrangements will be announced at a later date

RHODA MAE THOMPSON
Rhoda Mae Thompson, age 84, of 3304 Maco Rd., Leland, died Sunday, February 25, 2001 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born December 6, 1916 in Brunswick Co. to the late Martin Van and Florence Potter Skipper. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Thompson.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of Farmers Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, James A. Thompson of White Lake, N.C., and Russell W. Thompson of St. Petersburg, Fla., two daughters, Iris Casteen of the home and Linda Smith of Delco, a brother, William Howard Skipper of Wilmington, two sisters, Florence Corneila Skipper of Leland and Cora Elloweise Potter of Wilmington, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel with Rev. Martin Benton officiating. Interment will follow in Farmers Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel.

ROBERT (BOB) ELLIOTT BONNELL
Robert (Bob) Elliott Bonnell of Wilmington, NC, died Sunday, February 25, 2001 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001 at St. Mary Catholic Church by the Very Rev. James M. Labosky, V.F.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Andrews Mortuary, Valley Chapel, with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:30 p.m.

GARLAND LAWTON PRICE
BURGAW - Garland Lawton Price, age 81, of the Westside Senior House died Monday, February 26, 2001.
He was born March 19, 1919 in Mt. Olive, son of the late Jessie and Cora Myers Price. Mr. Price was a member of the King Solomon Lodge #138 for 37 years. He was retired from the NC Department of Corrections where he worked for 35 years.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at the Forest Hills Baptist Church in Burgaw. Reverend Fitzhugh Fennell, Church Pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Riverview Memorial Park Mausoleum. Masonic rites will be accorded at the cemetery.
Mr. Price is survived by one son, Jimmy Ray Price of Charlotte; three daughters, Betty Jean Price Forbes and husband Frederick Earl Forbes of Rutherfordton, N.C., Barbara Ann Price Lewis and husband Jack Larry Lewis Sr. of Atkinson, N.C., and Doris Price Horrell and husband Franky Horrell of Wilmington, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grand|children, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Mary Elizabeth McCullen Price just two months ago.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening 7 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at their residence at 304 West Bridgers Street.

MR. HENRY LONDON JEROME
Mr. Henry London Jerome, 74, of Dunn Place Drive, died Sunday, February 25, 2001 at the home of a brother, Mr. Jack Jerome in Cooleemee. A memorial service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in Pitts|boro, NC.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Andrews on the Sound Episcopal Church, 101 Airlie Road, Wilmington, NC 28403 or to St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, PO Box 1011, Pitts|boro, NC 27312.
Mr. Jerome was born August 19, 1926 in Pittsboro, NC to the late Fred Duncan and Camilla London Jerome. He was a retired Hydrologic Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Wilmington for 27 years. He had also served in the Navy during WW II and in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was educated in the Pittsboro Schools and was a graduate of NC State University in 1949. He was a member of the American Legion and the NARFE.
Survivors include two brothers, Jack Jerome and wife Martha of Cooleemee and Fred Jerome of Raleigh, four nieces and one nephew.

MRS. KATIE MOORE
Mrs. Katie M. Moore, of 1415 Queen Street, daughter of the late Thomas and Katie Marsh, died Sunday at her residence.
Mrs. Moore was a teacher in the New Hanover County School System for over 40 years and worked diligently with many organizations. She was a long-time member of St. Stephen AME Church. "Kate," as she was affectionately called, was interested in her neighborhood and |helped wherever she was needed to make it better and safe.
Her survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Eannie Graham and Mrs. Virginia Hall, both of Fayetteville, NC; a devoted niece, Mrs. Kathleen Ne|smith of Charlotte, NC, and other relatives and friends. The funeral will be conducted on Thursday at noon at the Adkins-Drain Southside Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation may be made this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adkins-Drain Southside Chapel and at the residence thereafter, 1415 Queen Street.

ANGELA DAE WARD
SHALLOTTE - Angela Dae Ward, 36, of Bricklanding Road, SW, died Sunday, February 25, 2001 at her residence.
Born in Abilene, TX on August 30, 1964, she was the daughter of Landis and Linda Mintz Stanley, Shallotte.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, David Ward of the home, one son Patrick Inman, Shallotte, NC, one daughter, Amanda Inman, Little River, SC, two brothers, Ray Stanley, Gastonia, NC, and Clint Stanley, Little River, SC, her paternal grandmother, Odessa Stanley, Shallotte, NC, her maternal grandmother, Bea Mintz, Shallotte, NC, and a special friend, Stephanie Ludlum.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. from the graveside in Jennies Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Jerry Hamilton.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Jennies Branch Baptist Church.
