Mrs. Rebecca L. Hall of 389 South Kerr Avenue died Friday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from St. Marks Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Adkins-Drain Southside Chapel and visitations will continue until 8 p.m.

JOHN D. SCHULTZ
LINDEN - Mr. John D. Schultz, 63, of Linden died Sunday at Good Hope Hospital in Erwin, NC. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Falls Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park. He has served as Deacon and current Assistant Sunday School teacher at Cedar Falls Baptist Church. He was this year's coach for the Cedar Falls Ladies Championship Softball Team, he was also a Navy veteran. Surviving are wife Barbara G. Schultlz of the home, son, Bruce E. Schultz of Fayetteville, NC, son David K. Schultz of Kernersville, NC, son Jeff M. Schultz of Kernersville, NC, son Randy Schultz of Winston-Salem, NC, sister Jo Reavis of Winston-Salem, NC, and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday night at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

VIRGINIA RAE FARLEY
Virginia Rae Farley, age 73, of 2805 Ward St., Wilmington, died Saturday, September 2, 2000 at her residence. She was born May 22, 1927 in Wilmington, N.C. to the late John Thomas Farley Sr. and Marie Virginia Darden Farley and was also preceded in death by a brother, John Thomas Farley Jr.
Mrs. Farley was a member of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and a United Way volunteer for several years.
She is survived by one son, James H. Smith and wife Susie of Houston, Texas. Two daughters, Terri Sandlin and husband John of Wilmington. Retha Hendrixson and husband Elvin of Okahumpka, Florida. One sister, Cecilia Pontius of Florida.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at the Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service Oleander Chapel with Rev. Harry Lackey officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Tuesday evening September 5, 2000 at the funeral home.

MRS. THELMA HALES BAGWELL
Mrs. Thelma Hales Bagwell of Wilmington died Sunday, September 3, 2000 at Liberty Commons.
She was born in Wilson, NC on October 25, 1905, the daughter of the late William Vann Hales and Mary Eason Hales. She was the widow of LeRoy F. Bagwell and preceded in death by a daughter, Florence Bagwell Costin.
Mrs. Bagwell was a longtime member of Winter Park Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 76 years and was a member of Goldenrod Chapter #142 for many of those years.
Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Tyson and husband Norman of Wilmington and Linda Bagwell of the home; six grandchildren, Herman F. Tyson, Jerry M. Tyson, Timothy E. Tyson, Donnie J. Costin Jr., Dennis L. Costin and Danny B. Costin; twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Alma Brown and husband Alan of Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at Winter Park Baptist Church by Rev. Michael Tutterow and Rev. Mark Teachey. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Joe Apke, David Walton, and Mark Williamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Fisher, Lloyd Bradshaw, and John Newton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Andrews Mortuary, Market Street Chapel.

JACK DAVID ISGRIG
OCEAN ISLE BEACH - Jack David Isgrig, 70, of 1714-3 Deerfield Drive SW, Brick Landing Plantation, Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., died Monday, September 4, 2000 at Brunswick Community Hospital, Supply, NC.
Mr. Isgrig was born in Frankfort, Indiana, September 22,1929, the son of the late Lee and Ruth Alice Isgrig. He was the former owner of J.D. Isgrig Manufacturing Company in Greensboro, having retired in 1996 at which time he and Mrs. Isgrig moved to Brick Landing Plantation. He had served in the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Mason Isgrig, of the home; one son, John Marshall Isgrig, of Weaverville, N.C.; two daughters, Jean Ann Rigs|bee of Raleigh, N.C., and Joy Sue Harder of Midlothian, Va.; two sisters, Peggy Ervine of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Polly Berkheimer of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., and six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2000 in the Chapel of Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Supply. Rev. Matthew L. Ernst will officiate.

JUDY HATLEY RUSSELL
OCEAN ISLE BEACH - Judy Hatley Russell, 55, of Anson Street died Monday, September 4, 2000 at her residence. Mrs. Russell was born in Stanly County, NC, on January 5, 1945. She was the daughter of the late George C. and Mary Smith Hatley.
She is survived by her husband, Buddy R. Russell; two daughters, Deirdre "Deddee" Hickman and Jocassa Loop and her husband, Brian, of Cary, NC; one brother, Clay Vann Hatley and his wife, Pat, of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Nancy Adkins and husband, Wade, of Albemarle, and Carolyn Hatley and husband, Elwood, of State College, PA; and three grandchildren, Zack Russell Hickman, Madison Hickman, and Christian Russell Loop.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at Jennies Branch Baptist Church by the Rev. Garrett Hayes Jr. and the Rev. Floyd Helms. Burial will follow in the Brunswick Memorial Gardens.

Michael Sheehan of Wilmington, NC, died Sunday, September 3, 2000 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born on August 19, 1937 in Springfield, MA, the son of Phyllis Tatum and the late Michael Sheehan. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary Sheehan, Arthur Sheehan, and Richard Garrett.
Mr. Sheehan served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1963.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Melissa Persons of the home; six children, Debra Clark, Carol Roy, Kathaleen Summers, Colleen Coelho, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Sheehan; fifteen grandchildren; one brother, David Sheehan; two sisters, Joan Girardi, Frances Florence; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews all of the New England area.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at Calvary Baptist Church by Dr. Marc Drake.

JAMES THEADORE POPLIN JR.
James Theadore Poplin Jr. of Wilmington, N.C., died Sunday, September 3, 2000 at his residence.
He was born October 10, 1923 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late James Theadore Sr. and Katharyn Maher Poplin.
Mr. Poplin was a Veteran of WWII, having served with the Combat Engineers.
Surviving is his wife, Doris Hester Poplin of the home. His children, John L. Poplin and wife Vicky of Castle Hayne, James Richard Poplin and wife Sue of Knightdale, N.C., Suzanne Parrish and husband Jack of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Ronald Terry and wife Robin of Raleigh, N.C., Donald Terry of Wilmington, Terry Lee Terry of Cheraw, S.C., a sister, Mrs. Edna P. Sharp of Fredericksburg, VA, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2000 in St. Therese Catholic Church by Rev. Gene Grabowski. Interment will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in Pine View Cemetery Rocky Mount, N.C.

ANNIE BAILEY ULMER DARDEN
Annie Bailey Ulmer Darden, of Wilmington, NC, died on the morning of September 3, 2000 at a local nursing home.
She was born in Washington, NC, March 21, 1918, the daughter of the late Cecil Alcandar and Edith Iola Ike Ulmer.
Mrs. Darden was a long time member of St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was an active member of the Lewis Bible Class and especially loved her circle friends.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, H. Lewis Darden Jr., and three children, Edith Joy Darden Paulmann and husband Calvin John Paulmann, Pamela Ann Darden Stellings and husband Herschel Everett Stellings, both of Wilmington, and Herbert L. Darden III and wife Carolyn Walton Darden of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren, Darby Dunlea Harris, Richard Austin Dunlea III, Jeffrey Lewis Dunlea, John Glameyer Dunlea, Ashley Joy Pentz Pierce, and Amy Porter Pentz Dick|son, and two great-grandchildren, Edith Hanes Harrris and Steven Huntington Harris.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2000 in Oakdale Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Lapp.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2000 at the home of Edith Darden Paulmann, 1417 Market St., Wilmington.
