Harrelson, Hansford Ray, 53, of 702 West Oak Island Drive,
Oak Island, died Monday at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. A memorial service

Walls, Earl J., of 887 Batten Road, Boiling Spring Lakes,

Brooks, Quincy O'Neal Andre, 8, son of Alexander and Daisy
Brooks of 95 Vereen Ave., Tabor City, died Sunday at Columbus County Hospital.

Edge, Albert Edward, 62, of 117 Steele St., Fair Bluff,
died Monday at Columbus County Hospital. The funeral will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Chadbourn. Burial will

TEODOR GLOD
Teodor Glod of Castle Hayne, NC, age 86, died Tuesday,
August 8, 2000, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
Mr. Glod was born on March 30, 1914, in New York Mills,
NY, the son of the late Joseph and Agnes Glod. He was preceded in death
by his wife, Annie Dmytruk Glod, and a brother, Dr. Albert Glod.
Mr. Glod attended schools in both Poland and New Hanover
County. He was a retired farmer and was well known in the area for his
Glod Farms brand of vegetables. He worked closely with the North Carolina
Extension Service at NC State University on farm issues and was particularly
concerned about farmland pollution. He was a Director of the NC Vegetable
Cooperative Association Inc.
In the past, he was an actor and member of the Thalian
Association. He was also an avid photographer and his many photographs
document the history of Castle Hayne, St. Stanislaus Church, and pre World
War II Poland. In the past, Mr. Glod served on the County Planning Board,
the Committee of 100 and as an interpreter for Polish ships docking in
Wilmington.
Before his retirement he was active in his church and
served as an usher, on the Parish Council, and the original Cemetery Board.
Prior to that service, he was a member of the North Carolina Catholic Layman's
Association. Memorials may be made to the St. Stanislaus Church Capital
Fund.
He is survived by a son, Theodore Glod of Raleigh, NC;
a brother, Walter Glod and wife Eleanore of Landsdowne, VA; and a sister,
Mary Ann Browne and husband Jim of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived
by a sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Dmytruk of Castle Hayne, NC; and eight
nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening,
August 11, 2000, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Castle Hayne. The
family will receive friends after the service.
Father Ryszard Kolodziej, pastor, and Father Douglas Reed,
former pastor, will concelebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
Saturday, August 12, 2000, at St. Stanislaus. Interment will follow in
the church cemetery.

MRS. JONNIE PARRISH GRAY
Mrs. Jonnie Parrish Gray of Panama City, FL, died Saturday,
August 5, 2000, at her residence.
She was born July 22, 1941, in Pender County, NC, daughter
of the late Henry D. and Thelma Tatum Parrish, and was preceded in death
by a son, Tony Meadows.
Surviving are her children, Robin M. Milliken and husband
David of Jack|sonville, NC, Lucile Meadows of Jacksonville, NC, and Rebecca
West of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Lucile P. Hufham
and husband Louis of Wilmington, NC, and Marceline P. West and husband
Max of Tallahassee, FL; two brothers, H.D. Parrish and wife Margaret of
Supply, NC, and Douglas D. Parrish and wife Elizabeth of Orlando, FL; and
several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August
11, 2000, in Greenlawn Memorial Park by Rev. Bryan Plyler.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from
9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Andrews Mortuary, Valley Chapel.

JOSEPH DANIEL 'DANNY' LONG
Joseph Daniel "Danny" Long of Wilmington, NC, died Monday,
August 7, 2000, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born December 4, 1948, in Wilmington, NC, son of
Lory J. and Wilma Hughes Long of Wilmington, NC.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Debra
Vause Long; one daughter, Debra Michelle Long and fianc‚ Emanuel Macias;
a sister, Carolyn Long Todd and husband Kenneth; and a nephew, Michael
Todd, all of Wilmington, NC.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August
11, 2000, in Sea Lawn Memorial Park by Rev. Eugene Ridley.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday
at Andrews Mortuary, Market Street Chapel, and at other times at their

ALICE LOUISE KLANDER MAULTSBY
Alice Louise Klander Maultsby, age 77, of Winter Park,
died Thursday, August 8, 2000, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.
She was born March 8, 1923, in Winter Park, Wilmington,
NC, and was preceded in death by her husband, D.H. (Buddy) Maultsby, and
parents, William B. and Margaret L. Skipper Klander.
Mrs. Maultsby was a talented seamstress, a smiling Avon
lady, an avid gardener and a fifty-year member of Winter Park Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Devereaux Douglas Maultsby
of Wilmington, C. David Maultsby and wife Sharon of Wilmington, R. Preston
Maultsby of Charleston, SC; three daughters, Marsha M. Hewett and husband
Ernie of Hampstead, Nancy M. Hewett and husband Lee of Wilmington, Barbara
M. Ledford and husband Jeff of Weaverville; one brother, Herbert Klander
of Wilmington; three sisters, Dorothy Rivenbark of Wilmington; Ruth Atkinson
of Wilmington and Joyce Dickerson of Lodi, California; her mother-in-law,
Mary Louise Maultsby of Wrightsville Beach. Sixteen grandchildren and eleven
great-grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August
11, 2000, at Wilmington National Cemetery with Rev. Pat Trobaugh officiating.

MRS. LORRAINE NIXON WELLS EZELL
TEACHEY - Mrs. Lorraine Nixon Wells Ezell, age 92, of
681 Wells Town Road, Teachey, died Tuesday evening August 8, 2000, at Mariner
Health of Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August
11, from the Rockfish Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Charles Love.
Burial will follow in the Rockfish Cemetery.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Ezell was the daughter
of the late James Ellis and Annie Carr Wells and was the widow of Delton
H. Ezell. She was a graduate of the 1931 Nursing Class of James Walker
Hospital in Wilmington and was a member of the Rockfish Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive at the fellowship hall of Rockfish
Presbyterian Church after the service Friday.

MARCIA MOSES BRAY
WILMINGTON - Marcia Moses Bray, 79, of 4804 Oberbeck Way,
died Tuesday, August 8, 2000 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center
in Wilmington. She was formerly of Birmingham, Alabama.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Bray McCorkle
of Wilmington, NC, Amy Bray Russell of Wilmington, NC; one son, Andrew
H. Bray of Birmingham, Alabama; one sister, Shirley Ann Moses of Charleston,
WV, and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Friday, August 11, 2000
at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, Memorial Gardens in Birmingham,
Ala.

EUGENE WILLIAM JONES
Eugene William Jones, age 76, of 930 North McMillian Ave.,
Apt #E., died Monday, August 7, 2000 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born September 23, 1922 in Horry Co., S.C. and
was a retired truck driver.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Louise
Cribb Jones and a son, Eugene Jones Jr.
He is survived by three sons, Henry Michael Jones of Wilmington,
Raymond Lee Jones and Timothy David Jones of Washington. Two daughters,
Judith Ann Depratter of Orange Park Florida and Betty Jean McDaniel of
Atlanta, Ga., seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August
11, 2000 at the United Advent Christian Church on College Rd. with Rev.
Adrian Shepard officiating.
The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Thursday, August
10, 2000 at the residence of Henry Jones, 5321 Gerome Place, Wilmington.
