   Bellamy, Merline H., 81, of 1600 Auburn Drive, Loris, S.C., died Wednesday at home. The funeral will be noon Monday at Flag Patch Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Peoples Funeral Home, Whiteville. 
   
   Brown, Ethel, of 211 N. 11th St. died Thursday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Zion AME Church. Burial will be in Pine Forest Cemetery. French I. Davis Funeral Home. 
   
   Brown, Johnny Mack Jr., 33, died Tuesday. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Light, AME church, Dothan. Burial will be in the Bulter Cemetery. Westside Funeral Home. 
   
   Davis, Willie Verline, of 1101 Chestnut St. died Thursday at home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke AME Zion Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Jordan Funeral Home. 
   
   Heath, Roger Carroll, 56, of Watha died Thursday at home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park, Fayetteville. 
   
   Jenkins, Dennis D., of 3502 Dogwood Road, N.E., Leland, died Wednesday at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hoopers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the McLaurin Cemetery. John H. Shaw's Sons Funeral Home. 
   
   Joyner, Charles Leon, of 803 Clarendon Ave., Southport, died Saturday at Dosher Memorial Hospital. Arrangements will be announced by McCoy-Greene Funeral Home, Southport. 
   
   Mintz, Virginia Hardee, 81, of Pine Street, Shallotte, died Friday at home. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today in Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Mintz Cemetery. Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte. 
   
   Reiner, George Henry, of 621 Beachview Drive, S.E., Sunset Harbor, died Saturday. Arrangements will be announced by Peacock-Newnam Funeral Home, Southport. 
   
   Wilson, James Edward, 72, of 936 Pinelog Road, Whiteville, died Tuesday at home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Mark AME Zion Church. Burial will be in the George Cemetery. Peoples Funeral Home, Whiteville. 
   
   Wilson, Hazel Henry, 81, of 1176 Porter's Cane Road, Rocky Point, died Saturday at home. Arrangements will be announced by Dunn Funeral Home, Burgaw. 
   
  JAMES OLIVER WOODWARD JR. 
   James Oliver Woodward Jr., age 63, of Wilmington, formerly of Alexander County, died Monday, July 24, 2000, in Pender County as the result of a boating accident. A memorial service in his memory and in celebration of his life at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Robert L. Salzgeber on Sunday, August 6, 2000, at 3 p.m. Mr. Woodward's interment was conducted on July 27, 2000, in the Hiddenite Cemetery in Alexander County. 
   
  CHERYL STARK CAMPBELL 
   Cheryl Stark Campbell, 71, of Wilmington, NC, died Friday, August 4, 2000. 
   She was born August 22, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Rawson and Gertrude Bogart Stark, and was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Campbell. 
   Surviving are her daughter, Susan Campbell Venters and husband John; and two granddaughters, Caitlin Faith Venters and Colleen Campbell Venters, all of Wilmington, NC. 
   A memorial service will be held at 11: 00 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2000, in Andrews Mortuary, Market Street Chapel. 
   The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Andrews Mortuary, Market Street Chapel. 
   Memorial gifts in Cheryl's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.

  JOHN (JACK) RHEM JR. 
   John Rhem Jr. of 10274 Cornwallis Circle, Leland, N.C., died Wednesday in New Hanover Regional Medical Center. 
   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, 409 South Fifth Street, Wilmington, with the Rev. James Malloy and the Rev. Samuel Williams officiating. 
   A private burial service will be held at Oleander Memorial Gardens. 
   The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service and at other times will be at the home.

  MR. WILLIAM (BILL) LUCIUS SCOTT II 
   WHITEVILLE - Mr. William "Bill" Lucius Scott II, 62, of Whiteville died Saturday in Columbus County Hospital, Whiteville. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Whiteville First Presbyterian Church by Rev. Paul Woodall. Interment will follow in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. 
   He was the son of the late Frank Downes and Mary Jarvis Scott Sr. and a member of the Whiteville Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder and Deacon. Mr. Scott was owner and operator of Chadbourn Feed Service Inc. 
   Surviving family include his wife, Diane Lewis Scott of the home; two sons, William Lucius Scott III of Whiteville and Robert Bryon Scott of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Joan Scott Dorsett of Whiteville; two brothers, Frank D. Scott Jr. of Mount Dora, FL, and Thomas J. Scott of Jack|sonville, FL; four sisters, Mary Goffigan Buck of Cape Charles, VA, Emily Scott Seawell of Winston-Salem, Julia Scott Long of Cape Charles, VA, and Jessie Scott LeMoyne of Ormond Beach, FL; seven grandchildren. 
   Memorials may be made to the Whiteville First Presbyterian Church Needy Fund, 511 North Thompson Street, Whiteville, N.C. 28472. 
   The family will receive friends at their residence 6-8 p.m. Sunday at 508 Warrior Trail, Whiteville.

  MRS. HELEN IRENE SLOAN BONEY 
   WALLACE - Mrs. Helen Irene Sloan Boney, age 75, of 229 Sloan St. in Wallace, died Friday, August 4, 2000, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. 
   Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 6, at 2:00 p.m. from the Padgett Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dr. Dennis Bazemore. Burial will follow in the Rockfish Cemetery. 
   She is survived by one son, Lynn Johnson Boney of Wallace; daughter-in-law, Peggy Stevens Boney of Wallace; one sister, Mrs. Barbara Sloan Sholar of Holly Ridge; two grandsons, Rock Boney of Surf City and Shane Boney of Wilmington; one predeceased sister, Mrs. Margaret Padrick; two predeceased brothers, Edwin Sloan and Charles Sutton Sloan. 
   A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Boney was the daughter of the late Edward Marshall and Clara Mildred Williams Sloan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Evans Pickett Boney who was the founder of Boney's Radiator Service on 16th St., in Wilmington. Mrs. Boney was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wallace. 
   Casketbearers will be Mark Sloan, Troy Sloan, Cory Sloan, Bobby Blanton, Paul Williams and Marshall Padrick. 
   The family received at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and will be at Mrs. Boney's residence, 229 Sloan St. in Wallace, other times.

  MARY DAVIS VIVIAN 
   Mary was a fine Southern Lady who will be remembered as a loving mother, an outstanding Army wife, an all-around great person and a good friend to so many. 
   Mary was born in Wilmington on February 18, 1924. She died in Scottsdale, Az., July 25, 2000. 
   Her loving husband, Jim. 
   Memorial Mass was Saturday, July 29, 2000 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment in the family plot at Double Buttes Cemetery, Tempe, Az. 
   
  MRS. ANNIE S. HEWETT 
   Mrs. Annie Mae Sullivan Hewett, 91, of Maco Road, Leland, N.C., died Friday, August 4, 2000, at Brunswick Cove Nursing Center. 
   Mrs. Hewett was born in Bruns|wick County, April 3, 1909, the daughter of the late Richard Whitfield and Virginia Pickett Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert David Hewett and a son, Carlton Whitfield Hewett. 
   Surviving are her son, Harry David Hewett; her two daughters, Julia Bernice Graham and husband, Sanford, Annie Jeanette Leonard and husband Theron, all of Leland; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 
   Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2000, at Zion United Methodist Church by the Reverend Jim Reed, Reverend Billy Peele, and Reverend Vic Potter. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Casketbearers will be Mrs. Hewett's grandsons. 
   The family will receive friends at the Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel, today from 4 to 6 p.m. and at other times will be at the home of her daughter, Bernice Graham, 1206 Village Rd., Leland, N.C.

  MR. JIMMIE PATTERSON 
   SUPPLY - Mr. Jimmie Patterson, age 85, of 717 Stone Chimney Rd., Supply, died Friday, August 4, 2000, at his residence. 
   Mr. Patterson was born February 21, 1915, in Horry County, S.C., and was the son of the late Robert M. and Ola Todd Patterson. He was a member of St. John's Lodge #1 A.F. and A.M. of Wilmington and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Mr. Patterson was husband of the late Jill Patterson. 
   He is survived by a son, James L. Patterson of Kingwood, TX; a daughter, Shirley Benson of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Kim Leslie of Supply, Beverly Swift and Kelly Thompson of Wilmington, Chris Patterson of Kingwood, TX; three great-grandchildren, Forrest Burnett, Sarah Burnett and Dalton Leslie; a sister, Lumina; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
   Funeral service will be held Monday, August 7, 2000, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Reverend Jackie Spillers officiating. 
   Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery with Masonic Rites. 
   The family will receive friends from 3-5 this evening at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
