DUNN -- Ms. Olivia Moultrie, 77, of 704 N. Clinton Ave., died Saturday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at noon, today in St. John Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Walter J. Haire. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements will be announced by Payton’s Funeral Home.
Ms. Moultrie is survived by a sister, Julia Dixon of Dunn.
The family will receive friends today at the home and from 11 a.m. to noon at the church.

A.B. ‘Vannie’ Chestnut Sr. 
CALABASH -- A.B. “Vannie” Chestnut Sr., 97, of Wilson Road died Wednesday in Columbia Brunswick Hospital.
He was a retired sea captain and had worked in the restaurant business.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lighthouse Church in Calabash. Arrangements are being handled by Cape Fear Crematory of Fayetteville.
Among Mr. Chestnut’s survivors is a son, James Chestnut of Fayetteville.

LINDEN -- Jeffery Winfred Lea, 56, of 1539 McBryde St. died Thursday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
He was the owner and operator of J.W. Lea Paint Company in Linden.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Andrews United Methodist Church by the Rev. Haywood Smith. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Mr. Lea is survived by his wife, Kay E. Lea of the home; two daughters, Lisa Magnusson and Tracy White, both of Fayetteville; a son, Charles J. Lea of Fayetteville; his mother, Esther Lea of Fayetteville; two brothers, Bobby Lea of Shallotte and Harold Lea of Long Beach; eight grandchildren; and a step-grandchild.

NEW YORK -- Mrs. Ella Washington of New York, formerly of Whiteville, N.C., died recently in New York.

Mrs. Mary E. Goodwin 
HAMLET -- Mrs. Mary Eliza Goodwin, 63, of 39 S. Bridges St., died Wednesday in High Point Regional Hospital in High Point.
She was a nursing assistant at Hamlet Hospital and Britthaven Nursing Care Center and a member of Pemberton Temple Church of God in Christ.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Pemberton Temple Church of God in Christ in Hamlet by the Rev. John Spruill. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Rockingham. Arrangements are being handled by Nelson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Goodwin is survived by two suns, Elton L. Goodwin of Washington, D.C., and Richard T. Goodwin of Fayetteville; two daughters, Melissa G. McMaster and Casey W. Mr. Carson is survived by his wife, Sarah G. Carson; a daughter, Susan Reynolds of Winnabow; a brother, Glenn Carson of Elizabethtown; and a grandchild.

LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Catherine S. Haughwout, 76, of Lillington died Friday in Golden Years Nursing Home in Falcon.

He was a retired farmer, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Lisbon Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by a step-daughter, Peggy Duke of Chicago; and two sisters, Nettie Glaze of Rochester, N.Y., and Rosa Todd of Birmingham, Ala.
The public will be received today from 3 to 6 p.m. at H.M. Colvin Funeral Home.

Hester Q. Paul 
PEMBROKE -- Hester Quinton Paul, 78, of 607 E. Third St., died Friday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Burnt Swamp Baptist Church by the Revs. Michael Cummings, Keith Long and Gary Locklear. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
Mr. Paul is survived by his wife, Marthelma L. Paul of the home; a son, Rudy D. Paul of Pembroke; a daughter, Carol J. Paul of Pembroke; two brothers, Stacy A. Paul of Greenville, S.C., and Walter B. Paul of Scotch Plains, N.J.; a sister, Eunice P. Revels of Fairmont; and a grandchild.

Renard R. Carroll Jr. 
Renard Ronald Carroll, Jr., infant son of Renard R. and Donna Carroll Sr. of 5239 Maywood Ave., Fayetteville, died Thursday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A privategraveside service will be private. conducted Monday in Cumberland Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Carl Brinkley.Arrangements are being handled by Wiseman Mortuary.
In addition to his parents, Renard is survived by a sister, Mirachol Carroll of the home.

Branson Autry 
Branson Autry, 89, of 1009 Deep Creek Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in Columbia Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements will be announced by Wiseman Mortuary.

Jackson P. English 
LUMBERTON -- Evangelist Jackson P. English, 80, of No. 9 McCollum St., died Thursday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
He retired from the Army as a sergeant major and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. English ministered to the Church of Christ in Lumberton for more than 31 years.
The funeral will be conducted at 6 p.m., Monday in South Lumberton Church of Christ by Samuel P. Thompson. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Gardens of Faith cemetery in Lumberton with full military honors.
Mr. English is survived by his wife Birdie L. English of the home; a daughter, Jacquelyn English of Menifee, Ark.; two sons, Wilfred Moore of Los Angeles and Byron English of Dallas; a brother, Clarence English of Menifee; a sister, Alma Byrd of Menifee; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 1 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Maultsby & Sons Funeral Home.
