Mrs. Atawah Louise McVine, 80, of 373 Lynhurst Dr., Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was a charter member of Freedom Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Cumberland Memorial Cemetery by the Revs. Jan Milton and Rick E. Williamson.
Mrs. McVine is survived by a daughter, Alice M. McCain of Fayetteville; two sisters, Fayetta Gaskill of Goldsboro and Edna Bradel of Lancaster, Pa.

Mrs. Fay M. Hamilton 
LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Fay Marie Matthews Hamilton, 70, of Lillington died Wednesday in her home.
She was a member of Lillington Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Lillington Baptist Church by the Revs. Mark Morris and Jeff Roberts. Burial will be in Westview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her husband, John P. Hamilton; two sons, John M. Hamilton of Richmond, Va., and Paul S. Hamilton of Raleigh; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

ATLANTA -- Mrs. Jean Britt Plyler, 44, of Atlanta, formerly of Clinton died Tuesday in Atlanta.
A memorial service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Midtown Atlanta.
Mrs. Plyler is survived by her husband, David Plyler; a son, Walt Plyler; two daughters, Molly Plyler and Caroline Plyler; her parents, Walter and Mary Britt of Clinton; and two sisters, Mary A. Adams of Birmingham, Ala., and Betty B. Packard of Clinton.

Earl H. Creech Jr. 
BENSON -- Earl H. Creech Jr., of 104 S. Pine St., died Wednesday in Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
Mr. Creech was the owner and operator of Creech Marketing and Food Brokers, a member of United Methodist Church, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of American Legion Banner Post 109. He was chairman of the Johnston County Tourism Board and was a member of the Johnston County Economic Development Board.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Benson United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Benson and Michael de Sherbinin. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Creech is survived by his wife, Jean J. Creech; a daughter, Mary H. Creech of Benson; and a sister, Janice C. Parker of Benson.

COATS -- Willis Green Pope, 90, of Route 2, died Tuesday in Harnett Manor in Lillington.
He was the retired owner and operator of Pope Gun Repair and a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday in Rose & Graham Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. A.D. McGee and Jesse Mooney. Burial will be in Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Mr. Pope is survived by a son, Gail S. Pope of Coats; four daughters, Willa D. Powell and Eloise P. Lee, both of Coats, Margeline P. Myatt of Willow Springs and Carol P. McGee of Angier; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

SPRING LAKE -- Ian Wayne Mason, infant son of Wayne L. and Lisa W. Mason of Spring Lake died Tuesday.

In addition to his parents, Ian is survived by a half-sister, Amy Mason; two half-brothers, Ethan Ray and Tony Mason, both of the home; his maternal grandparents, Bruce and Ila West of Spring Lake; his paternal grandparents, Junnie and Louise Mason of Linden; and his paternal great-grandmother, Lillian Wade of Fayetteville.

HAMLET -- Ms. Evelyn Davis, 61, of 126 Dale Peterkin St., died Sunday.
She was retired from 30 years of work with the City of New York and was a member of Rose Sharon Order of Eastern Star No. 394, Brooklyn, N.Y. Division.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today in Friendship Baptist Church in Hamlet by Bishop Henry McLean. Burial will be in Dobbins Heights Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Nelson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Braswell is survived by a son, James Bryan of Lumberton; two stepsons, Jack Braswell of Wilmington and Bobby Braswell of Orlando, Fla.; and a granddaughter.

Mrs. Elsie B. Kinlaw 
LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Elsie B. Kinlaw, 75, of 980 Smiths Mill Road died Thursday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
She was a farmer, a homemaker and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Biggs Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Worth Gerald. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
Mrs. Kinlaw is survived by her husband, Wilton H. Kinlaw of the home; a son, Wilton B. Kinlaw of Lumberton; three brothers, Robert A. Britt of Rowland, Ralph P. Britt of Fairmont and Lewis P. Britt of Lumberton; five sisters, Dorothy B. Stewart, Dale B. Smith and Inez B. Smith, all of Lumberton, Vashti B. Musselwhite of Fairmont and Eloise B. Talley of Albany, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Jessie H. Hunt 
LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Jessie Bell H. Hunt, 80, of Kingsdale Manor Nursing Home, formerly of the Wiregrass Road Community in Lumberton died Thursday.
Arrangements will be announced by Biggs Funeral Home.

Arthur ‘Jim’ Crane 
LAURINGBURG -- Arthur James “Jim” Crane, 90, of Scotia Village died Wednesday in Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, S.C.
He was retired from the engineering department of DuPont, was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kingston, the Masonic Lodge and Lions Club and was an Army veteran of World War II.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Scotia Village by the Rev. Tom Groome. Arrangements are being handled by McDougald Funeral Home.
Mr. Crane is survived by a foster sister, Frances Rogerson of Bethel.

Mrs. Dorothy P. Short 
LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Dorothy Patterson Short, 58, of 507-B Butler St., died Sunday.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday in Union Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. George T. Ellis. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Short is survived by a daughter, Mae F. Patterson of Laurinburg; a stepdaughter, Sherry Short of Rochester, N.Y.; two stepsons, John “J.J.” Short of Rochester and Willie T. Ratliff of Laurinburg; two sisters, Frances T. Gary and Ruth H. Patterson, both of Laurinburg; two brothers, Nebraska Patterson and Willie G. Patterson, both of Laurinburg; and 17 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 442 N. Caledonia Road.

Mrs. Pearl B. Hill 
Mrs. Pearl Belcher Hill, 73, of 1117 W. Rowan St., Fayetteville, died Thursday in the Carrolton of Fayetteville.
Arrangements will be announced by Reeves Funeral Home of Hope Mills.

Willie A. King 
SPRING LAKE -- Willie A. King, 62, of 402 Williams St., died Saturday in his home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hillside Cemetery by the Rev. James Swinson.
Mr. King is suvived by his wife, Christine L. King of Fayetteville; two sons, Willie E. King of Maryland and Gerald King of Fayetteville; three daughters, Armerline King and Chrystal Rankins, both of Fayetteville and Darlene K. Jones of Corsicana, Texas; his mother, Eleanor McIver of Spring Lake; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from noon to 8 p.m. at Spring Lake Community Mortuary Chapel.

Ibrahim Henderson 
Ibrahim Henderson, 19, 6305 Glenlea Cr., Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted in Greenville, S.C. at a later date. Arrangements will be handled by Watkins-Garrett-Woods Mortuary.
Mr. Henderson is survived by a son, Davonish Henderson of Fayetteville; his father, Lester Henderson of Greenville; his mother and step-father, Joyce and Roosevelt C. Henry of Greenville; a brother, Jameel R. Chalmers of Greenville; three sisters, Melissa Kirksey, Qwanyell Henderson and Raushanah Montgomery, all of Greenville; his maternal grandparents, Wash and Maebell Smith of Greenville; his legal guardian, Cora Mims of Fayetteville.

LUMBERTON -- Evangelist Jackson P. English, 80, of 9 McCollum St., died Thursday in Duke Medical Center in Durham.

Bryan K. Creech 
WENDELL -- Bryan Keith Creech, 38, of Wendell, formerly of Benson died Wednesday in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
He was a personnel manager for Wal-Mart.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson by the Rev. Glenn McCullen. Arrangements are being handled by Rose & Graham Funeral Home of Benson
Mr. Creech is survived by his father, Bobby L. Creech of Benson; and a brother, Gregory V. Creech of Benson.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Bobby L. Creech, Crestfield Apartments 130, 604 E. Morris Ave. Benson.
