ROWLAND -- Nathaniel McKoy, 45, of Rowland, died Sunday in Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Mingo McRae Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. McKoy is survived by three daughters, Natalie McKoy and Robin McKoy of Decautur, Ga., and Crystal McKoy of New York; his parents, Benjamin McKoy and Maggie L. McKoy, both of the home; three sisters, Annie Miles of the home, Cynthia Brown of Danville, Va., and Gwen Smith of Sierra Vista, Ariz; and two brothers, William McKoy of Fairmont and James McKoy of Baltimore, Md.

The public will be received at the Jackson Chapel in Rowland Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Mrs. Eula R. West 

GARLAND -- Mrs. Eula Riley West, 86, of Route 8, formerly of Fayetteville, died Thursday in her home.

Mrs. West was a member of Cumberland United Methodist Church and a Sunday school teacher. She was a foster parent of 32 children for 15 years.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Cumberland United Methodist Church by the Rev. Raymond Myrick. Burial will be in Cumberland Cemetery on Bingham Drive.

Mrs. West is survived by a daughter, Martha West of Fayetteville; two sons, Mitchell West of Fayetteville and Richard West of Lumberton; two brothers, James R. West and Joe B. West, both of Fayetteville; two sisters, Eva Garner and Dorothy Cain, both of Fayetteville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ms. Addie Bloomfield 

LOS ANGELES -- Ms. Addie Bloomfield, 54, of Los Angeles, formerly of Rockingham, N.C., died Tuesday in Los Angeles.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Bethel United Methodist Church in Wallace, S.C. by the Rev. James E. Stevenson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by McEachern Funeral Home of Rockingham.

Ms. Bloomfield is survived by a son, Alphonzo Bloomfield of Los Angeles; five sisters, Etta M. Ratliff of Rockingham, Ola B. Brown of Vineland, N.J., Sarah Bobby of Los Angeles, and Rebecca Chapman and Mary Jay, both of Capitol Heights, Md.; and three brothers, Roy Bloomfield of Los Angeles, Coy Bloomfield of Lanham, Md., and Samuel Bloomfield of Forestville, Md.

Ms. Vivian G. McLean 

LILLINGTON -- Ms. Vivian G. McLean, 63, of Harnett Manor Nursing Home died Wednesday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. in Dafford Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Harrison Ray. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Dunn.

Among Ms. McLean’s survivors is an uncle and an aunt.

The family will receive friends today from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home or at the home of Lewis and Geneva McKoy, Route 6, Lillington.

Mrs. Ada B. Locklear 

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Ada Bell Locklear, 73, of 5372 N. Chicken Road, formerly of 136 Oxendine Circle, Lumberton, died Thursday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of Moriah Baptist Church and a homemaker.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Biggs Chapel by the Revs. Romie Revels and William Griffin. Burial will be in Oxendine Cemetery.

Mrs. Locklear is survived by five sons, Tommy Locklear, Michael Locklear and Eddie Locklear, all of Lumberton, James A. Locklear of Trenton, N.J., and J.W. Locklear of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Diane Scott of Lumberton; two sisters, Myrtle Carter and Blanchie Carter, both of Lumberton; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Biggs Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Myrtle Carter, 177 Ivey Road, Lumberton.

Mrs. Pauline P. Morgan 

LAUREL HILL -- Mrs. Pauline Parker Morgan, 72, of Willowhaven Nursing Home, formerly of Laurel Hill died Thursday in Edwin Morgan Center in Laurinburg.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in McDougald Funeral Home by the Rev. William Loving. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery in Gibson.

She was a spinner of Springs Mill.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by a son, Morris J. Watts of Albemarle; a brother, Horace K. Parker of Georgetown, S.C.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family will be receiving friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Herman Grissett 

MARIETTA -- Herman Grissett, 73, of Route 2, Box 74, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Arrangements will be announced by Community Funeral Home of Fairmont.

William Brewington 

ROCKINGHAM -- William Brewington, 51, of 717 North US 1, in the Philadelphia Community died Monday in Hamlet Hospital in Hamlet.

He was a member of United Methodist Church and worked construction.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. today in Philadelphia United Methodist Church by the Revs. J.J. Covington and Peter Singletary. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Nelson Funeral Service.

Mr. Brewington is survived by three brothers, George Brewington of Trenton, N.J., Edward J. Brewington of Bristol, Pa., and Sherman L. Brewington of the home.; two sisters, Virginia Pollard of Bristol, Pa., and Priscilla Fletcher of Rockingham.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Michael D. Reese 

Michael Dion Reese, 7, of 566 Alleghany Road, Fayetteville, died Monday in his home.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. today in LaFayette Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplin Roche. Burial will be in Rauischholz Hausen, Germany.

Michael is survived by his parents, Eric and Heike Reese of the home; a sister, Torri D. Reese of the home; maternal grandparents, Margarete Plume and Helmut Plume of Germany; and great-grandmothers Christine Lemmer and Elizabeth Emmerich, both of Germany; paternal grandparents, Esau Whitfield and Marcia Whitelow, both of Michigan; paternal great-grandmother, Dorotha Reese of St. Louis, Mo.

ORRUM -- Mrs. Bonnie Parker McMillan, 44, of Elijah Road died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Charlie T. Barbour 

ROSEBORO -- Charlie Thomas Barbour, 69, of Roseboro died Friday in Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Roseboro Church of God by the Revs. Matthew Stewart and Daniel M. Gore. Burial will be in Roseboro cemetery.

He was a retired truck driver.

Mr. Barbour is survived by two daughters, Shirley Stephens and Doris Ezzell, both of Roseboro; three sons, Thomas R. Barbour of Fayetteville, and Randy K. Barbour and Robbie C. Barbour, both of Roseboro; four sisters, Mavarine Hicks of Clinton, Earline Bullard and Elizabeth Coats, both of Roseboro, and Melvine Stewart of Autryville; a brother, Jesse Barbour of High Point; a stepdaughter, Doris McArthur of Clinton; a stepson, Jimmy R. Stafford of Roseboro; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Mrs. Ida L. McNeil 

Mrs. Ida Lee McNeil, 74, of 2106 Decore Court died Saturday in Duke Medical Center in Durham.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Friendship Baptist Church by the Rev. Lee Downing. Burial will be in Northside Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Paye Funeral Home.

She was a retired Fort Bragg civil service employee.

Mrs. McNeil is survived by a daughter, Maxine M. Burns of Durham; a son, James McNeil of Fayetteville; three sisters, Maggie M. McLeod and Louise D. Campbell, both of Fayetteville, and Alberta Latin of South Bend, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Rondia Owens, 58, of Fayetteville, formerly of 1557 Butler Road, Autryville, died Wednesday in Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Robinson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Rena Sutton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Paye Funeral Home.

Mr. Owens is survived by a daughter, Helene S. Owens of Fayetteville; five sisters, Moroline Blue of Kinston, Louella Owens of Fayetteville, Patsy McNeil of Newburgh, N.Y., Lottie Newton of Roseboro and Loubert Ward of Mt. Olive; three brothers, Walter Owen of Autryville, Dondia Owens of the home and Ralph Owens of Roseboro; and a grandchild.

Mrs. Margie L. Tatum 

STEDMAN -- Mrs. Margie L. Tatum, 71, of Route 2, Box 214-K, died Tuesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Holy Temple Holiness Church in Autryville by the Rev. Elizabeth Kirk. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Tatum is survived by four daughters, Alice F. Roberts of Atlanta, Ga., Shirley A. Phillips, of Stedman, Claris O. Blue of the home, and Margie L. Bautista of Fayetteville; five sons, William J. Artis of Stedman, Willie E. Tatum of Greensboro, Johnny W. Tatum of the home, Robert L. Tatum of Spring Lake, and James D. Tatum of Fayetteville; one sister, Minnie Carter of Fayetteville; two brothers, Charlie Artis of Fayetteville and Robert Artis of Detroit; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mattie Bell McEachin, 66, of 5100 Gavin St., Fayetteville, died Wednesday.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Wiseman Mortuary chapel by the Rev. Ander L. Wright. Burial will be in Rockfish Memorial Park.

Mrs. McEachin is survived by her husband, June McEachin of Fayetteville; four daughters, Marie Ray, Betty A. Smith and Hazel Freeman, all of Fayetteville, and June Simanu of Newport News, Va.; her mother, Carrie Underwood of Fayetteville; three sisters, Louise Breece of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mae Higgins and Evadelle Underwood, both of Fayetteville; a brother, Hubert C. Underwood Sr. of Fayetteville; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Phyllis Tracy Bain, 65, of 611 Baywood Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in her home.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Pentecostal Church by the Revs. Jesse Williams and David Kelly. Burial will be in Guy Cemetery.

Mrs. Bain is survived by her husband, Jimmy B. Bain of the home; two daughters, Kathlene Ansley and Robin LaMmorand, both of Fayetteville; three sons, Delmus Williams and Martin Williams, both of Fayetteville, and Daniel Williams of Tampa, Fla.; four sisters, Margurette Foy, Helen Vermette, and Jeannie Besner, all of Springfield, Mass., and Donna Dawson of Chicopee, Mass; five brothers, William L. Tracy of Springfield, Edward Tracy of Agawam, Mass., Raymond Tracy of Westfield, Mass., Howard Tracy of Pensacola, Fla., and James Tracy of Chicopee; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ST. PAULS -- Mrs. Carolyn Wright Gaines, 57, of Route 37, Box 650, formerly of Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Oak Ridge Cemetery by the Rev. Ken Williams. Arrangements are being handled by McNeill Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gaines is survived by her husband, Billy Gaines; a daughter, Lisa G. Davis of Fayetteville; two sons, Billy Gaines Jr., and Fred D. Gaines, both of Fayetteville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Olivia B. Birchette 

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Olivia Bryan Birchette, 93, of 1820 Oakwood St., formerly of Newport News, Va., died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center Hospital in Lumberton.

She was a member of The Jewels, Golden Circle, Eastern Star, St. Augusta Alter Guild, Chi Eta Phi nursing sorority, and was a church superintendent, vacation Bible School worker, and Registered Nurse.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Newport News by the Rev. Ned Haines. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Newport News. Arrangements are being handled by McMillan Funeral Home.

Mrs. Birchette is survived by a daughter, Mildred B. Nelson of Jamaica, N.Y., a sister, Celestine B. Jones of Lumberton; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McMillan Funeral Home and other times at the home of Celestine B. Jones, 1820 Oakwood St., Lumberton.
