STEDMAN -- Mrs. Jacquline B. Robinson, 42, of Route 2, Box 198, formerly of Turkey, died Saturday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Turkey by the Rev. Eugene Alexander. Burial will be in Sandhills Cemetery in Clinton. Arrangements are being handled by Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home of Clinton.

Mrs. Robinson is survived by her husband, Tommie Robinson of the home; four sons, Cory Robinson of Charleston, S.C., and Kendrick Robinson, Tony Robinson and Gregory Robinson, all of the home; her mother, Perlene Boomer of Turkey; five sisters, Bessie Morrisey of Stedman, Mary Farrior and Alice Williams, both of Turkey, and Gloria Mitchell and Esther Waymon, both of Clinton; six brothers; James Jones of Brooklyn, N.Y., and James E. Boomer Jr., Charlie F. Boomer, Johnny Boomer, Poydres Boomer and Joe L. Boomer, all of Washington, D.C.; and one grandchild.

Cecil Lacewell 

CLARKTON -- Cecil Lacewell, 76, of 2290 Carver Moore Road died Monday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Union Baptist Church in Lake Waccamaw by the Rev. Ronald Campbell. Burial will be in the Young family cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville.

Mr. Lacewell is survived by his wife, Laura Lacewell.

Mrs. Vivian G. McLean 

LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Vivian G. McLean, 63, of Harnett Manor Nursing Home died Wednesday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.

Arrangements will be announced by Dafford Funeral Home of Dunn.

Willie C. Townsend 

Willie Clarence Townsend, 75, of Fayetteville died Wednesday in his home.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Cape Fear Crematory.

Mr. Townsend is survived by four sons, Larry Townsend of Pembroke, Garry Townsend of Red Springs, Archie D. Townsend of Hillsboro, Mo., and Keith D. Townsend of Pineapple, Ala.; two daughters, Mildred L. Richardson and Karen T. Dial, both of Pembroke; a sister, Mary I. Townsend of Wilmington; three brothers, Sammy L. Townsend of Burgaw, Thomas P. Townsend of Fayetteville and Harley B. Townsend of High Point; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Thomas and Shirley Townsend, Route 20, Box 867, Lot 5, Fayetteville.

William ”Bill” Prince 

SANFORD -- William ”Bill” Prince, 75, of Route 14, Box 414, died Friday in Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday in Cameron Grove AME Zion Church by the Rev. Chalmers McDougald. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Horton Funeral Home.

Mr. Prince is survived by his wife, Mary P. Prince of the home; two daughters, Janice P. Horton of Asheville and Carolyn P. Cotton of Winston-Salem; a son, William V. Prince of Winston-Salem; three stepdaughters, Karen Phillips of College Park, Ga., and Saundra Panagaris and Vondra Claybrooks, both of Cleveland; five sisters, Menetta P. Womack of Broadway, Julia P. McIver of Randallston, Md., Ilena P. Yarborough and Helene P. McCormick, both of Bridgeport, Conn., and Vernell P. Simmons of Buie, Md.; four brothers, Leroy Prince, George Prince and Silas Prince, all of Broadway, and Paul Prince of Stamford, Conn.; six grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mozelle A. McIver 

SANFORD -- Mrs. Mozelle A. McIver, 84, of 310 Temple Ave. died Saturday in Central Carolina Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Jonesboro Chapel AME Zion Church by the Rev. Theodore Tyson. Burial will be in Womack Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Horton Funeral Home.

Mrs. McIver is survived by a stepson, James M. Holt of the home; a sister, Bertha Womack of Sanford; a brother, Frank Coefield of Apex; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Louise Crutchfield 

SANFORD -- Mrs. Louise Crutchfield, 83, of 518 Rose Street died Monday in Central Carolina Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in First Baptist Church in Cameron by the Rev. Harry Bowman. Burial will be in Green Grove Church cemetery.

Mrs. Crutchfield is survived by her husband, Eugene Crutchfield of the home; a daughter, Martha C. McLeod of Sanford; two sisters, Bella Person of Newport News, Va., and Martha Jones of Philadelphia; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Horton Funeral Home and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at the church.

BLADENBORO -- Mrs. Janice Lynne Hayman Mill of Oak Grove Church Road died Monday.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery by the Rev. Don Toth.

Mrs. Mill is survived by two sons, Mike Mill and Bill Martin, both of the home; her parents, William R. and Beulah R. Hayman of Willow Springs, Mo.; and a sister, Judy Turner of Willow Springs.

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Eva Griffin Coleman, 83, of Lumberton died Tuesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Floyd Mortuary chapel by the Revs. Arvil Stephens and Tim Sellers. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery.

Mrs. Coleman is survived by a daughter, Betty C. Halliburton of St. Pauls, and two grandchildren.

Ms. Bernice Loren Barden, 21, of 3443 McChoen Drive, Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Reeves Funeral Home chapel in Hope Mills by the Rev. John Hedgepeth. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Ms. Barden is survived by her parents, Price and Rosie Barden of the home; and a sister, Simone Barden of the home.

Russell W. Townsend Sr. 

STEDMAN -- Russell Washington Townsend Sr., 76, of Route 2, Box 207, died Wednesday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Durham.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Woodmen of the World.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville by the Rev. Phil Spears. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

Mr. Townsend is survived by three daughters, Becky McInnis of Raeford, Mary Warner of Sanford and Donna Leslie of Linden; a son, Russel W. Townsend Jr. of Sanford; four sisters, Lib McLamb of Dunn, Mary M. Wilson, of Flint, Mich., Anna B. Jackson of Florida and Nell Raspi of Fayetteville; two brothers, Freddie Townsend of Hampton, Va., and George Townsend Jr. of Rhode Island; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Fred L. Smith 

LAURINBURG -- Fred L. Smith, 87, of Laurinburg died Wednesday in Edwin Morgan Center.

Mr. Smith was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Deacon of Laurinburg Presbyterian Church, president of the Men’s Bible Class and he was active in the Kiwanis Club.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Laurinburg Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Tom Groome.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Maria W. Smith; a son, Fred L. Smith Jr.; a daughter, Garland Smith of Charlotte; and a sister, Helen Wilson of Laurinburg.

RAEFORD -- Ret. Army Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Henry Clayberger, 71, of Raeford died Tuesday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.

A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Main Post Cemetery on Fort Bragg. Arrangements are being handled by Rogers & Breece Funeral Home.

Mr. Clayberger is survived by his wife, Mary M. Clayberger of the home; four daughters, Kathy C. Fowler of Danville, Va., Elizabeth C. Gibson of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Janie C. Dugan and Sheila C. Pegram, both of Fayetteville; two sons, Joseph H. Clayberger Jr. of Raeford and Eric S. Clayberger of Laurinburg; two brothers, David Clayberger of Gay, Ga., and Richard Clayberger of Dade City, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

James Augustus Smith, 85, of Fayetteville died Tuesday in his home.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Mrs. Edith J. Hanes 

PINEHURST -- Mrs. Edith Johnson Hanes, 79, of Pinehurst died Tuesday in Moore Regional Hospital.

She was a registered nurse and served in the Army Nurse Corps in the European Theater during World War II.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Southern Pines by the Rev. John D. Stone. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Cemetery in Dillwyn, Va. Arrangements are being handled by Powell Funeral Home of Southern Pines.

ELIZABETHTOWN -- Mrs. Ruth Falcomer Knechtges, 91, of Apartment 4-A, Hall Street died Wednesday in her home.
