The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Sharon Baptist Church, 3540 Iron Works Rd., Reidsville, conducted by the Rev. David G. Anderson. Burial will be in Brush Valley Cemetery in Brush Valley, Pa.
Tina was a student in Mrs. Anderson's third grade class at Bethany School.
Survivors are her mother, Laura Piraino of the home; father, Joe Piraino of Pa.; sister, Sheena Piraino of Pa.

Jeanne Troxler Pickard, 52, of 127 Concord St., died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Chapel with interment in Westminster Gardens.
Jeanne was of the Methodist faith, and she was the owner/operator of Greensboro Rubber Staamp Co. While in high school, Jeanne started working for Greensboro Rubber Stamp Company, which was founded by her mother. Jeanne loved to read and she was an extraordinary cook to which her friends will attest.
Jeanne is survived by her sister, Judy Jones of Greensboro.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

COLFAX -- Mr. James Drew Nuckles, 68, of 8324 Tyner Loop died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Wesley Long Community Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at the Smith Grove Baptist Church by the rev. Frank Matthews with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Nuckles was born in Guilford Co., a son of the Rev. Richard O. and Ruby Smith Nuckles and was a retiree of AT&T and was a member of the Smith Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Westmoreland Nuckles of the home; a daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Mike Cashion of Kernersville; a son and his wife, Rick and Monie Nuckles of Ariz.; two grandsons, Ross Cashion and Cody Nuckles; a brother, Raymond Nuckles; five sisters, Blake Nuckles; Maudean Nuckles; Ermalee Nuckles; Grace Brown and Evelyn Mickey; all of Colfax.
The body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the home, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Survivors include her mother, Naketa Garris; father, David Lee Michael; sister, NaShanti JaNae Michael; maternal grandparents, Frances and James Coples; paternal grandmother, Michelle Michael; maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Garris; paternal great-grandmother, Annie Blackwell; maternal great-great-grandmother, Mrs. Rosa Lee Pinson; aunt, LaSaundra "Trudy" Lindsey; cousin, Greg Garris; and many loving cousins and family members.

Mrs. Vivian Manning of 1307 Seminole Dr., died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Beacon Place Hospice of Greensboro.
A graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in Green Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Manning was a native of Eden, where she was born to the late Henry Clay and Flora Dillon Burnette. She was a resident of Greensboro since 1958. She was a graduate of Ferrum College, Ferrum, Va. She worked for Kaiser-Roth Industries, Dow-Corning Corporation, Greensboro Country Club, FHA and Social Security Administration, from which she retired in 1986. She was a former member of St. Lydia'S Guild, active with Meals-On-Wheels Program, participant and supporter of local theatrical productions.
Mrs. Manning is survived by a daughter, Toni Gaalaas of Albemarle; a son, Tim Gailey of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandson, Trygve Gaalaas of Arlington, Va. and Eric Gaalaas of Austin, Texas; and a wide circle of family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at the Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Maness was born in Guilford County, a daughter of Jack and Minnie Westmoreland Smith and was a charter member of the Northwest Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Sylvia Burns and her husband, Sam of Asheboro; a son, Tim Maness and his fiancee, Robin King of Greensboro; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

KERNERSVILLE -- Mr. Charles Leonard Kuhn, 67, of 8760 Van Hoy Rd., died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at the Hayworth-Miller-Cain Chapel by the Rev. Roy Fagg, with burial to follow in the Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
Mr. Kuhn was born in Alleghany Co., Pa., a son of Charles B. and Viola Kuhn, was a retiree of Warden Motors in Winston-Salem, a U.S. Marine veteran and attended the Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Walnut Cove. He is preceded in death by a brother, Bob Kuhn.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Fagg Kuhn of the home; daughters, Terry Jenkins of China Grove; Dolores Litchfield of Rocky Point; Dottie Hatcher of Winnabow; Lorie Rigsbee of Kernersville; Valerie Benton of South Port; Connie Collins of Walnut Cove; two sons, Richard Kuhn of Apex and Michael Alred of Kernersville; brothers, Herbert Kuhn of Vero Beach, Fla.; Donald Kuhn of Arnold, Pa.; Tom Kuhn of Natrona Heights, Pa.; and George Kuhn of Freeport, Pa.; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

She was a native of Pelham, NC and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Caswell County.

RITA H. HOWLAND

Rita H. Howland, 79, formerly of Greensboro, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at the home of one of her sons, in Greensburg, Pa.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, in St. Mary Catholic Church, 812 Duke Street. Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River, Mass.
She was born in Fall River, Mass., a daughter of the late Cornelius and Angela (Crowley) Leary, and had lived in Greensboro, since 1991. She previously lived in Warwick, Rhode Island from 1951 to 1958, and in Lyndonville, Vermont from 1958 to 1991. She was the wife of the late Elmer F. "Bud" Howland, Sr.
Mrs. Howland was a 1940 graduate of the University of Rhode Island. She was a dietitian at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont in Burlington from 1966 until retiring in 1982. She was previously a teaching dietitian at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence from 1949 to 1958.
She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Greensboro. She held the office of Chapeau with the Rhode Island Chapter of the 8 & 40, and was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the American Dietetic Association, the Good Sam Travel Club, the Carolina Cardinals Travel Club, and the Holiday Rambler Club. She worked as a volunteer for the Greensboro, NC Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Vermont Red Cross. Mrs. Howland also volunteered for the Central Carolina Legal Services.
She is survived by two sons, E.F. "Bud" Howland of Greensboro; and John L. Howland of Greensburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

CANDOR -- Milas Haywood, 77, of Graybriar Nursing Home in Trinity, formerly of McCallum Pond Road, Candor, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at High Point Regional Hospital, after several years of declining health and two weeks critical illness.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Holly Mount Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mitchell Walker. Interment will be in the Candor Cemetery.
Mr. Haywood was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Montgomery County to Riley Haywood and Maggie Blake Haywood. He was a member of Holly Mount Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a Master Sgt. He was retired owner and operator of H & H Motor Co. and was a retired auto mechanic teacher at Montgomery Community College. He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Haywood, who died in 1988.
Survivors are his wife, Annie Parsons Haywood of Troy; daughters, Elizabeth Poe and husband, James Poe of Sophia; Carolyn Tucker and husband, Kenneth Tucker of Hickory; sisters, Sudie Blake of Aberdeen; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor and at other times, they will be at the residence of his wife, 105C Wesleyan Home II, Troy.

LATTIMORE -- Mrs. Kathleen Jones Harrill, 75, of 505 Crawley Gin Rd., died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Lattimore Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Max Burgin and the Rev. Michael Jones. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was born in Cleveland County, on Nov. 28, 1922, to the late John B. and Elva Barnett Jones. She was a retired lab tech. for Hoechst-Celanese and a member of Lattimore Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Harrill; two brothers, Alvie P. Jones and J. Carson Jones; and a granddaughter, Ashley Godwin.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ray Fisher of Julian; brother and sister-in-law, Carl F. and Martha H. Jones of Shelby; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth (Lib) and J.L. McSwain of Shelby; Kay Jones and Howard Kale of Shelby; grandson, Lee Godwin of Greensboro; granddaughters, Kristi Fisher Reeves and Stacey Fisher both of Julian.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, at the church, prior to the service. Other times, the family will be at the residence.
