Ramon C. Reed
Retired Army Lt. Col. Ramon C. Reed, 70, of 1522 Boros Drive, Fayetteville,
died Friday .
Mr. Reed was in the military for 26 years and was a veteran of the
Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division,
5th Special Forces Group and the JFK Center. He was awarded the Legion
of Merit, four Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. Mr. Reed was also a former
Scoutmaster and district committee chairman of Troop 704 Boy Scouts of
America.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Main Post Chapel
on Fort Bragg by Chaplain Lee Nelson. Burial with military honors will
be at 9 a.m. Dec. 14 in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, Jeanne K. Reed of the home; four
sons, Lt. Col. Dwight Reed of Oakton, Va., Mike Reed of Charleston, S.C.,
Bill Reed of Wilmington and Pat Reed of Fairfax, Va.; a daughter, Irene
