LILLINGTON -- Robert Ryan Currin, 28, of Lillington, died Sunday in Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
Mr. Currin was a farmer.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Summerville Presbyterian Church by the Revs. James Taylor and Elinos Whitlock. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Currin is survived by his wife, Dorothy H. Currin; his parents, Robert and Rebecca Currin of Lillington; a sister, Brandee Currin of Lillington; his paternal grandmother, Nell Currin of Lillington; and his maternal grandmother, Nolie Dickens of Lillington.

Ms. Disotell is survived by four daughters, Shirley Smith of Sanford, June Hansen of San Diego, Muriel Kloster of Kenosha, Wis., and Jude Hockers of Phoenix; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Sarah Barnes Ivey, 87, of 228 Long Branch Drive, died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Ivey was a teacher’s aide for the Robeson County schools. She was a member of Broad Ridge Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Broad Ridge Baptist Church by the Rev. John Hamm. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Ivey is survived by four daughters, Sylvia Rice of Carrboro, Gloria Smith and Jean Bateman, both of Lumberton, and Judy B. Britt of Orrum; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

RAEFORD -- Carl J. Purcell Sr., 68, of 1046 Loop Road, died Saturday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Glenn, both of Raeford; four sons, Carl Purcell Jr. of Lorton, Va., and Jerry Purcell, Fredrick Purcell and Franklin Purcell, all of Raeford; three brothers, Walter Purcell and Robert Purcell, both of Raeford, and Willie Purcell of New Jersey; a sister, Betty A. Mack of New Jersey; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ramon C. Reed
Retired Army Lt. Col. Ramon C. Reed, 70, of 1522 Boros Drive, Fayetteville, died Friday .
Mr. Reed was in the military for 26 years and was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, 5th Special Forces Group and the JFK Center. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, four Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. Mr. Reed was also a former Scoutmaster and district committee chairman of Troop 704 Boy Scouts of America. 
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Main Post Chapel on Fort Bragg by Chaplain Lee Nelson. Burial with military honors will be at 9 a.m. Dec. 14 in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, Jeanne K. Reed of the home; four sons, Lt. Col. Dwight Reed of Oakton, Va., Mike Reed of Charleston, S.C., Bill Reed of Wilmington and Pat Reed of Fairfax, Va.; a daughter, Irene Reed of New York; his stepfather, Henry Choinere of Greenfield, Mass.; a brother, Donald Beneroski of Surfside Beach, S.C.; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Sasser worked as a construction manager for Flour-Daniels Construction Co. for more than 25 years. He was a member of Western Prong Baptist Church in Whiteville, N.C.

Mr. Barnhill was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a self-employed contractor for more than 50 years.
