Bobby B. Conerly Sr.
PIKEVILLE -- Retired Tech. Sgt. Bobby Byron Conerly Sr., 69, of 104 Duck Ridge Drive, formerly of Cumberland County, died Wednesday in his home.
Mr. Conerly retired from the Air Force. He also worked for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department.
The funeral was conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday in Howell Funeral Home & Crematory chapel in Goldsboro by the Rev. Neal Salter. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Hopewell United Methodist Church cemetery in Newton Grove.
Mr. Conerly is survived by his wife, Mattie O. Conerly; four sons, John Conerly of Clinton, Bobby Conerly Jr. of Newton Grove, Stephen Conerly of Fayetteville and Michael Conerly of Goldsboro; a daughter, Marci Conerly of Goldsboro; his father, Uldrie E. Conerly of Fayetteville; a sister, Patricia A. Williams of Fayetteville; and nine grandchildren.

Minister Glenwood ‘‘Chico’’ Edwards, 53, of 3247 Jupiter Drive, Fayetteville, died Monday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
Mr. Edwards was a member of Smith Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, the Chaplain Association of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Full Gospel Singers of Fayetteville and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a former member of the Homedy Five of Wade.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Smith Chapel Free Will Baptist Church by Dr. Elijah Fulcher III. Burial will be in Northside Cemetery.

Mrs. Lane volunteered at West End Elementary School, Heritage Care and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Sandhills Assembly Church. Mrs. Lane received the Presidential Points of Light Award from former President Bush for her volunteerism.

Mr. Martin was the past president of J&J Vending and owned Laurinburg Lanes Bowling Center. He was a member of Swanns Station Baptist Church, the Moose Club, the Elks Club and a charter member of the Wheels of the Past Car Club.
