Ms. Margaretta L. Brown, 69, of 331 Vineland Drive, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Hillside Holiness Church by the Rev. Alden Johnson. Burial will be in Raleigh National Cemetery.

Ms. Brown is survived by a daughter, Carol B. Cartrette of Fayetteville; two sisters, Catherine Crock of Alabama and Beatrice Meyer of New York; and a brother, Phillip Tight of New York.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

LILLINGTON -- George D. Turlington, 71, of Lillington died Monday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

He was a master builder.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lillington Baptist Church by the Rev. Mark Morris. Burial will be in Harnett Memorial Park.

Mr. Turlington is survived by his wife, Gilda B. Turlington of the home; two daughters, Wanda T. Stewart of Mamers and Kathy T. Vaughan of Holly Springs; two sons, George D. Turlington of Broadway and David M. Turlington of Raleigh; a sister, Myrtle Jones of Fuquay-Varina; and eight grandchildren.

HAMLET -- Mrs. Lottie Brown Lewis, 73, of 126 Pee Dee Ave. died Saturday in Hamlet Hospital.

Mrs. Lewis is survived by a son, James F. Lewis of Charlotte; four daughters, Mary A. Lewis of Washington, D.C., and Berry J. Among Ms. Hamilton’s survivors is a daughter, Dr. Luredean H. Brandon of Fayetteville.

WHITE OAK -- Mrs. Agnes Holden Williams, 92, of 7672 Burney Road died Tuesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Mrs. Williams is survived by a son, David J. Holden of White Oak.

He was retired Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

WHITEVILLE -- Bishop James A. Stevenson, 82, of 430 W. Columbus St. died Sunday in Columbus County Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cromartie Temple First Born Church in Lumberton by Bishop Johnson. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Memorial Park in Hallsboro.

McKoy of Erwin; his mother, Alma McKoy of Coats; four brothers, Tommy McKoy of Erwin, Donald McKoy of Coats, Roy C. McKoy of Buies Creek and Dennis McKoy of Richmond, Calif.; three sisters, Geraldine Wilson of Camden, S.C., and Anne McKoy and Brenda Alston, both of Coats; and five grandchildren.

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Mildred Barnes Stanton, 87, of West 20th Street died Monday in Carrolton Nursing Center.

Mrs. Stanton was a member of First Baptist Church of Lumberton, Lumberton Garden Club and United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a retired house director for Methodist College in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Floyd Mortuary & Crematory chapel by the Rev. William Tuck. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery.

Mrs. Stanton is survived by two sons, Arthur R. Stanton Jr. of Lumberton and David M. Stanton of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Mildred S. Kinlaw and Judy S. Austin, both of Lumberton; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
