SPRING LAKE -- Donald Edward Barnes Sr., 77, of 1780 Rainey Drive, died Friday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mr. Barnes was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery by the Rev. Clark A. Wiser. Arrangements are being handled by Highland Funeral Service & Crematory of Fayetteville.

FAIRMONT -- Wade Edward Clark, 76, of 7241 Pleasant Hope Road, died Monday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury.

Mr. Clark was a retired farmer and attended Ashpole United Methodist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Floyd Funeral Services chapel in Fairmont by the Revs. Crafton Chavis and Bill J. Locklear. Burial will be in Lumbee Memorial Gardens in Pembroke.

Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Ms. Peery was an English teacher at South View High School for six years and taught for more than 20 years in North Carolina and for the Department of Defense Schools in Heidelberg, Germany. She was a member of the North Carolina Association of Educators and the National Education Association.
