Mr. Hines owned Auto Business Inc. and was a member of Hillman Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Hines is survived by his wife, Emogene H. Hines of the home; three sons, Kermit Hines Jr. of Seagrove, Jimmy C. Hines of Garner and Chuck M. ST. PAULS -- Donnie Dean Sturdivant, 49, of 11070 Barker Ten- Mile Road, died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Mr. Sturdivant was a plumber and a former member of Big Marsh Volunteer Fire Department and the St. Pauls Rescue Squad.

A memorial service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in McNeill Funeral Home chapel in St. Pauls by the Rev. Robert Wallace Jr.

Mr. Sturdivant is survived by three brothers, Billy Sturdivant, Jackie Sturdivant and James Sturdivant, all of St. Pauls; and two sisters, Carolyn Locklear of St. Pauls and Linda Cole of Brunswick, Ga.

Mrs. Baldwin co-owned and operated Wooten’s Store in Western Prong for more than 40 years. She was a charter member of Western Prong Extension & Community Association and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Whiteville Chapter 211 for more than 50 years.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today in McKenzie Mortuary chapel in Whiteville by the Rev. Simon Scott. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Western Prong Baptist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Baldwin is survived by a daughter, Betty Ann Page of Clarkton; two grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Thompson was an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Defense.

Henry F. Ballard
SANFORD -- Henry Franklin Ballard, 72, of Convalescent Center, died Sunday in Central Carolina Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home chapel in Lillington by the Rev. Robert West. Burial will be in Summerville Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Mr. Ballard is survived by two sons, Wayne Ballard of Lillington and Donald Ballard of Angier; a daughter, Deborah Godwin of Coats; a brother, Dan Ballard of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and seven step- great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Bobby and Deborah Godwin.

Rachel F. Edwards
HOPE MILLS -- Rachel Faircloth Edwards, 61, of 4030 E. Cole St., died Sunday.

Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Reeves Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Billy Blackman. Burial will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Fayette- ville.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband, Curtis Faircloth Sr.; a daughter, Ann Peavey of Hope Mills; four stepsons, Curtis Faircloth Jr., Alan Faircloth, Terry Faircloth and William Faircloth, all of Fayette- ville; a brother, Charles Faircloth of Fayetteville; three sisters, Melvaline Smith and Aldia Freeman, both of Gray’s Creek, and Faye Carter of Hope Mills; two grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Ann Peavey, 5921 Hunting Ridge Road.

Archie Carlyle
Archie Carlyle, 77, of 2615 Sedgefield Drive, Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton by the Rev. Chris Evans. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Mr. Carlyle is survived by his wife, Mallie Carlyle of the home; a stepson, Larry Knowles of Salemburg; a stepdaughter, Sylvia Draughon of Greensboro; two grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory in Lumberton.
