A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Bladen Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Mike Thompson. 

Mr. Lashley is survived by a son, Robert Lashley of Chadbourn; four daughters, Zebbie Lashley of Bladenboro, Gay White of Whiteville and Misty Neville and Brandy Lashley, both of Franklin, Ind.; two sisters, Beulah R. Herndon and Grace Smith, both of Fayett- eville; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Kinlaw Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

George E. Thomas
SANFORD -- George Ervin Thomas, 77, of 305 Phil Johnson Road, died Friday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

Mr. Thomas was a first sergeant in the Army during World War II and was awarded three Bronze Stars. He was a member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Stanley McLeod Post.

A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. today in Lee Memory Gardens by the Rev. Alfred Kimbel. 

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Erlene J. Thomas of the home; a son, Ronald ‘‘Ron’’ Thomas of Sanford; four sisters, Jean McDowell of Sanford, Mary A. Howard of Olivia and Magalene Cameron and Elsie Leonard, both of Greensboro; and a grandchild.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 3:45 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home in Sanford.

William M. Williford
Retired Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. William Martin ‘‘Bill’’ Williford, 72, of 2208 Wingate Road, Fayetteville, died Friday .

Mr. Williford was a member of Cumberland Baptist Church and the Retired Military Association of Fayetteville. He was in the Marines for 22 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Williford also retired from Kmart.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Cumberland Baptist Church by Pastor Rick Anderson. Burial will be in Spring Branch Church cemetery in Dunn.

Mr. Williford is survived by his wife, Louise T. Williford of the home; a son, Edward M. Williford of Hope Mills; three daughters, Barbara J. Williford of Hope Mills and Cynthia J. Niquiporo and Deborah L. Williford, both of Fayetteville; a stepdaughter, Jeannine Brewington of Godwin; three brothers, Clifford Williford of Clinton, Joseph E. Williford of Garner and James L. RALEIGH -- Mrs. Margery G. Jones, 84, of Raleigh, formerly of Fayetteville, died Saturday .

Mrs. Jones was a member of Hay Street United Methodist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Hay Street United Methodist Church in Fayetteville by the Rev. Carl Frazier. Burial will be in Raleigh Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Rogers and Breece Funeral Home of Fayetteville.

Mrs. Jones is survived by two daughters, Peggy Hoyle of Charlotte and Linda Parham of Greenville; two sons, Thomas H. Jones of Boiling Springs and Richard A. Jones of Fayetteville; a sister, Helen Kelly of Raleigh; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Mr. Byrd was a member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church.

CLINTON -- Robert Gibson ‘‘Robbie’’ Bass, 33, of 1842 Wyre Branch Road, died Friday in Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

Mr. Bass was a furniture installer with Kivett’s Inc.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today in Royal-Hall Funeral Home chapel in Clinton by the Rev. Charles R. Jernigan. 

Mr. Bass is survived by his wife, Michelle H. Bass; his parents, Thomas and Cindy Bass of Clinton; a sister, Jessica Bass of Clinton; a brother, Cory Bass of Clinton; his maternal grandmother, Notre Yarborough of Clinton; and his paternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, Robert and Ellen Bass of Harrells.

SANFORD -- Ronald Frank Lerche, 66, of 2015 Woodland Ave., died Thursday in his home.

Mr. Lerche retired from the Lee County Sheriff’s Department.

FALCON -- Mrs. Verna Maxwell Randall, 91, of 7104 S. West St., died Thursday .

Mrs. Randall was a member of Culbreth Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, South River Garden Club, the Classroom Teachers Association and the Retired Teachers Association. She was a teacher and principal in the Cumberland County schools for 43 years before retiring. 

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Culbreth Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church by Bishop James D. Leggett and the Revs. Stephen Hicks and J. Danny Nelson. Entombment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum. Arrangements are being handled by Rogers and Breece Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
