Mrs. Kathleen Reynolds

GRAHAM - Mrs. Kathleen ``Kat'' Reynolds, 78, of Wagner Lane died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham after a long illness.

Born May 15, 1919, in Burke County, she was the wife of Mr. Russell Reynolds, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Emerson Lee Propst and Mrs. Mary Costner Propst, both deceased. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Alamance County.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include two sons, Mr. James Reynolds of Morganton and Mr. Eddie Reynolds of Cleburne, Texas; two daughters, Ms. Beth Puckett of Rutland, Vt., and Ms. Diana Dozier of Las Vegas; two brothers, Mr. Delmar Propst of Valdese and Mr. Donald Propst of Skipwith, Va.; two sisters, Ms. Inez Clark and Ms. Lois Propst, both of Morganton; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Earl Propst.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will be at Sossoman Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 this evening and at other times at the home of the son, Mr. James Reynolds, 4287 U.S. 64, Morganton.

Mr. Richard Paschal

REIDSVILLE - Mr. Richard Mills Paschal, 94, of 9618 U.S. 158, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997, at Maplewood Nursing Center.

A native of Rockingham County, he was the husband of Mrs. Martha Witty Paschal who died in 1986 and the son of Mr. David L. Paschal and Mrs. Annie Tate Paschal, both deceased. He lived in the Monroeton Community most of his life. He was a retired farmer and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Becky Paschal of the home; a son, Mr. Richard Ernest Paschal of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Roy Paschal of Reidsville; two sisters, Ms. Onie P. Isley and Ms. Ruby P. Hammock, both of Reidsville; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Citty Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Wallis Smith. Burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Citty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Robert F. Hibbard

PINEHURST - Mr. Robert F. Hibbard, 61, of 2 Cherry Lane, formerly of Raleigh, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997.

Born Oct. 1, 1936, in Richmond, Va., he was the husband of 35 years to Mrs. Parris E. Hibbard, who survives, and the son of Mr. Charles E. Hibbard and Mrs. Christine S. Hibbard, both deceased. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 1960. He served two years in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, earning the rank of First Lieutenant. He was a sales representative for 32 years at Buffalo Forge Co. in Greenville, S.C. and Richmond.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include a son, Mr. David E. Hibbard of Burlington.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Southern Pines by the Rev. Ron Thomas of Piedmont, S.C.

A graveside service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Jefferson Town Cemetery in Jefferson, S.C.

The family will be at Powell Funeral Home after the memorial service and at other times at the home.

Mr. Keith C. Paulette

MEBANE - Mr. Keith C. Paulette, 61, of 126 Water Plant Road died at 2:06 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997, at the Skilled Nursing Division of Alamance Regional Medical Center after 10 years of failing health.

A native of Blackstone, Va., he was the husband of Mrs. Janet E. Paulette, who survives, and the son of Mrs. Olis Wood Clark, who survives, and the late Mr. Samuel A. Paulette. He was a retired textile employee and a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors other than his wife of the Skilled Nursing Division of Alamance Regional Medical Center and mother of Haw River include three daughters, Ms. Cheryl Parker and Ms. Pam Paulette, both of Haw River, and Ms. Joanie Wood of Statesville; a son, Mr. Sean Paulette of Burlington; a sister, Ms. Frances Rumley of Graham; a brother, Mr. Curtis Paulette of Mebane; and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church by Dr. James L. Bryan, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 this evening and at other times at the home of the daughter, Ms. Pam Paulette, 116 Water Plant Road, Mebane.

 
Mr. Anthony J. Festa III

DURHAM - Mr. Anthony Joseph Festa "Tony" III, 47, of 2021 Chapel Hill Road died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997, in Durham.

Born July 6, 1950, in Winston-Salem, he was the husbnad of Mrs. Jane Bahnson Festa, who survives, and the son of Mr. A.J. "Tony" Festa Jr. and Mrs. Dottie Cates Festa, both survive. He was a self-employed carpenter and landscaper.

Survivors other than his wife of Durham and parents of Semora include a daughter, Miss Hannah Festa of Durham; a son, Mr. Nicolas Festa of Durham; a brother, Mr. Kevin Festa of Deluth, Ga., and three sisters, Ms. Regina Festa Caspersen of Lee High Acres, Fla., Ms. Mary Festa Burton of Douglasville, Ga., and Ms. Linda Festa Orvis of Duluth.

The funeral was conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Saints Mary and Edward Catholic Church in Roxboro by the Rev. Robert Staley. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Honory pallbearers were member of Saints Meay and Edward Catholic Church.

The family was at Brooks and White Funeral Home from 7 to 8 Friday evening, and a mass serivce was conducted at 8 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Ruby C. Ayers

MEBANE - Mrs. Ruby Crowder Ayers, 72, of 1146 Gibson Raod died at 7:05 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 1997, at Dorthea Dix Hospital in Raleigh after six weeks of failing health, two weeks critical.

A native of Austinville, Va., she was the wife of the late Mr. James E. Ayers, and the daughter of Mr. James Matthew Crowder and Mrs. Emer Graham Crowder, both deceased. She was a snack bar manager at Alamance Communty College and was a member of Hawfields Presbyterian Church

Survivors include six sisters, Miss Willie Crowder and Mrs. Nancy Ann Whitfield, both of Mebane, Mrs. Mary Murphy and Mrs. Jane Williamson, both of Graham, and Mrs. Jean Wilson of Gibsonville; and a brother, the Rev. Rick Crowder.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Hawfields Presbyterian Church, by Dr. Angus W. McGregor, interim pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the chruch cemetery.

The family will be at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 2 to 4 this afternoon, and at other times at the home of a sister, Mrs. Jean Wilson, 516 Cummings St., Gibsonville.

Mr. James A. King Jr.

REIDSVILLE - Mr. James A. King Jr., 63, of 3016 Iron Works Road died Thursday morning, Oct. 16, 1997, at his home.

A native of Rockinham County, he was the husband of Mrs. Frances W. King, who survives, and the son of Mr. James A. King Sr. and Mrs. Elon Nelson King, both deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include a son, Mr. James A. King III of Reidsville; two daughters, Ms. Donna K. Lawson and Ms. Teresa K. Branch, both of Reidsville; a brother, Mr. Thomas Worley King of China Grove; six grandchildren; and other relatives in the Burlington area.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Nelson King.

The funeral was conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Sharon Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

The famiy was at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 7 to 9 Friday evening.

Mr. Kenneth K. Smith

FAYETTEVILLE - Mr. Kenneth K. Smith, 85, of 3314 Boone Trail, died Friday, Oct. 17, 1997, at Village Green Care Center.

Formerly of Burlington, he was the husband of Mrs. Mabel L Smith, who survives. He was a member of Massey Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors other than his wife of Fayetteville include two daughters, Ms. Joyce Hawley and Ms. Betty Ainsworth, both of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today[ sun ] at Massey Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert A. Phipps. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.

The family was at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9:30 Saturday evening.

GRAHAM - Alyzabethe Marie Elliott, infant daughter of Mr. Henry Mitchell "Mitch" Elliott and Miss Hether Lynn Robare, who survive, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Alamance County.

Robare and Mrs. Margaret Robare of Graham; paternal grandparents, Mr. Henry Michael "Mike" Elliott and Mrs. Joanne Stone Elliott of Pleasant Grove; maternal great-grandparents, Ms. Nancy Johnson of Denver, Mr. James Robare and Mrs. Barbara Robare of Keesville, N.Y.; paternal great-grandparents, Mr. Bernice W. "Bunk" Stone Sr. and Mrs. Joyce Yancey Stoney of South Boston, Va., Mr. Ralph Fuquay and Mrs. Sharon Fuquay of Leasburhg, Ms. Faye Tucker of Rockboro, Mr. Henry "Pee Wee" Elliottt and Mrs. Betty Elliott of South Boston; patenral great-great-grandpartents, Ms. Pearl R. The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 this afternoon, and at other times at the home of paternal granparnets, Mr. Mike Elliott and Mrs. Joanne Elliott, 4516 Matherly Trial, Pleasant Grove Community, Burlington.
