Ms. Johnson was a member of the T.L. Weston High School graduating class of 1992. She was preceded in death by a brother, Isaac Johnson III of Greenville; and her maternal grandmother, Rosie Harper, and maternal grandfather, Taylor Harper, both of Scott.

Survivors include a daughter, Chardreka R. Johnson of Greenville; a son, Tenarius R. McGary

LELAND Funeral services for Christine Webb McGary, 67, of Leland will be Saturday at noon at Old White Stone MB Church, Helm. She died Jan. 25, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville, after a lengthy illness. Burial will be in Old White Stone MB Church Cemetery under the direction of Dillon Funeral Home, Leland.

Christine Webb McGary was born Dec. 19, 1934, in Cary, Miss., to the late Willie and Maude Webb.

She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church of Sharkey County, where she also attended school. She later joined the Old Morning Star Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E.L. Young.

She is survived by four sons, Henry (Minnie) Webb of Arcola, James (Jackie) McGary of Winterville, Matthew McGary of Leland and Andrew McGary of Memphis; four daughters, Jamesetta Nunn of Greenville, Brenda (Lee) Montgomery of South Bend, Ind., Christine Leseur of West Memphis, Ark., Clara (Alan) Johnson of Lexington, Tenn.; one brother, Robert Webb of Chicago; three sisters, Alicestine Chilous of Leland, Lucille Morris of Wayside and Doris Groth of Chicago; 27 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 13 children whom she and her late husband, James McGary, raised, Lillie B. Webb of Greenwood, L.C. Webb and Woodrow Webb, both of Arcola, Guenda Keithley and Teresa Keithley, both of Indianola, Johnny (Luvenia) Johnson of Leland, Betty Johnson Townsend and Alisa Johnson, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Cathy (Jerry) Snipes and Allen Webb, both of Leland, Dewayne Johnson of Arcola, Floyd Keithley, who were special caregivers, and Tanesha Johnson of Arlington, Va.

CORINTH Funeral services for Willie Frances Miller, 79, of Corinth will be today at 3 p.m. at McPeters Funeral Home chapel, Corinth. She died Jan. 30, 2002, at Magnolia Regional Health Center, Corinth. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park, Corinth.

Mrs. Miller was born in Corinth on July 1, 1922, to the late William Franklin and Ruth Bell Jobe Moore. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She retired from the Alcorn County school system, and was associated with Biggersville School. She enjoyed cooking and sharing with her friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Jolly and husband Jack of Corinth, and Amanda Reed and husband Charles of Avon; five grandchildren, Jeff Jolly, Brandon Jolly, Eric Jolly, William Thomas Reed and Mary Frances Reed.

Ellis

GREENVILLE Funeral services for Albert R. Ellis, 59, of Greenville will be today at 4 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. He died of respiratory failure June 1, 2002, at The King's Daughters Hospital, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery.

Mr. Ellis was born Aug. 26, 1942, in Vaiden, Miss, to the late William and Sarah Ellis. He was raised in Vaiden, where he attended Vaiden public schools. He was a three-year U.S. Army veteran and a four-year U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in Cuba and Vietnam. 

He had been a resident of Greenville since 1966 where he worked at Greenville Paint and Glass Company for 32 years until ill health forced him to retire in 2000. He was co-founder and charter member of the Washington County Girls Softball Association, and he was also a coach of that league. He was a member of New Life Church of God in Greenville. 

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and James Williams of Hernando, Miss., and Tracie and Greg Kuntz of Long Beach, Miss.; five brothers, Charles Ellis and George Ellis, both of Vaiden, Miss., Wayne Ellis of Meridian, Miss., William Ellis of Georgia and James Ellis of Jackson, Miss.; four sisters, Elaine Ellis of Vaiden, Miss., Myrtle Monk of Greenwood, Miss., Mary Burges of Pascagoula, Miss., and Bitsy Yelverton of Burns, Miss.; and two grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Kuntz and Austin Williams.

Pang

GREENVILLE Funeral services for Edward Pang, 90, of Greenville will be June 9 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel at First Baptist Church, Greenville. He died of heart failure May 25, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in the Chinese Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mr. Pang was a native of Toyshan Province, China. He was a longtime Greenville grocery merchant, and was born Nov. 11, 1911. He came to the United States in 1922 at the age of 11. He lived in Frankfort, Ind., where he went to school and worked in his father's laundry and owned a restaurant for a time. In his school years, he played basketball and tennis and was also a cheerleader. As a young man he went to Hong Kong on a visit, and met his future wife, Mary Lee, at a party. They were married in Hong Kong in 1934. The couple returned to the United States in 1935 and entered the restaurant business in Frankfort, Ind. In 1940, Ed Pang brought his family to Greenville, and opened Pang's Grocery on Union Street. Later he built a home and grocery store at 901 S. Delesseps St., where he operated Pang's Grocery for 40 years. He retired in the early 1980s.

Mr. Pang was very active in the Chinese Mission of the First Baptist Church, where he served as superintendent of the Chinese Mission for 31 years. He was also director of the Chinese Cemetery for 39 years. His civic duties included serving on the board of directors of the American Red Cross and working with the United Way.

In his years in Greenville, he was very active in assisting members of the Chinese community as an interpreter. Throughout his life, he helped local Chinese with their citizenship papers, legal documents, business problems and has appeared with Chinese of the community at law offices and the courts.

As a devoted, dedicated Christian, he was called upon as a Christian counselor among the Chinese. H also shared his Christian testimony at local churches. At one of the annual meetings of the State Baptist Convention, Mr. Pang was asked to pray for Worldwide Christian Mission Efforts, which he did, praying in his native language of Cantonese.

He headed up annual Thanksgiving and building fund offering drives each year among local Chinese. He presented these gifts each year to the First Baptist Church from the Chinese Mission, in appreciation of their watchcare and support.

He and his wife Mary, were married for 68 years. They had five children, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Survivors are as follows: two daughters, Marolyn P. Tonymon (Oscar) of Dallas and Carolyn P. Oyama (Terrell) of DelMar, Calif.; three sons, David A. Pang (Elisa) of Memphis, Edward W. Pang of Houston and Benjamin L. Pang (Cynthia) of San Jose, Calif.; five grandchildren, Valarie Wing, Tiffanie Pang, Coryeile Oyama, Lauren Pang and Nicole Oyama; four great-grandchildren, Alison Wing, Aja Wing, Ashley Wing and Anna Wing.

Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

LELAND Funeral services for George Holloway Jr., 73, of Leland will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter MB Church, Leland. He died Dec. 2, 2002, at his home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Dillon Funeral Home, Leland.

Mr. Holloway was a retired educator and coach. He served as the Leland Park Commissioner for many years. He taught at Greenville High School and O'Bannon High School for more than 30 years. He also coached both girls and boys basketball, track and baseball teams.

Lamastus

GREENVILLE Funeral services for Guy Edward Lamastus Jr., 73, of Greenville, a retired roofer and construction businessman, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mortimer Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. He died of heart failure Dec. 5, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.

Mr. Lamastus was a lifelong resident of Greenville. He was a roofer with Brown Roofing Co., and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was also a veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Riner Lamastus.

Survivors include four daughters, Dottie Willoughby of Indianola, Donna Lott of Pearl, Diana Pangburn of Wichita, Kan., and Debi Massey of Nachodoches, Texas; one son, Stacy Lamastus of Houston, Texas; one brother-in-law, J.L. Brown of Greenville; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
