He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Carter, and his father, Louis Carter Sr.

BELZONI -- Graveside services for Rena T. Pittman, 77, of Long Beach and formerly of Greenville, a retired office manager, will be today at 2 p.m. in Belzoni City Cemetery, Belzoni. She died of heart failure Aug. 28, 2001, at her home. Burial will be under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home, Belzoni.

She was born in Greenville and lived in Belzoni for 38 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Belzoni.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Pittman.

Survivors include one daughter, Jana P. McKenzie of Long Beach; one sister, Lou Reed of Silver City; three grandchildren; Jay McKenzie of Gainesville, Fla., Brad McKenzie of Gulfport and Heather Knight of Long Beach; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Honour was born June 9, 1915, in Clarksdale, Miss., to the late Mr. and Mrs. Simon Honour Sr. He served his country in World War II from 1943 to 1946 in the U.S. Army. He was baptized and was a member of New White Stone MB Church family. He was married to Mary Lee Moore until death called him home. To this union six children were born. One child preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary Honour of Greenville; two daughters, Ruby (Henry) Griffin of North Richland Hill, Texas, and Sylvia Birt of Greenville; three sons, Cornelius (Donna) Honour of Greenville, Joseph (Charlayne) Honour of Crossett, Ark., and Stanley (Irene) Honour of Crestview, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other close relatives and friends.

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Magnolia Johnson, 54, of Greenville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Friendship MB Church, Greenville. She died July 17, 2002, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Ms. Johnson was born Feb. 28, 1948, in New Orleans, La., to the late Sam Johnson Sr. and Catherine Johnson. She was raised in Glen Allan, Miss., and she eventually made Greenville her home. She attended O'Bannon High School. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers James Davis, Melvin Johnson, Elijah Johnson; a sister, Shirley Johnson; and her grandmother, Magnolia Young.

Survivors include three daughters, Debra Johnson and Goldia Johnson, both of Greenville, and Virginia Johnson of Irving, Texas; three sons, Leon (Kela) Johnson of Alabaster, Ala., and Issac (Regenia) Johnson and Robert (Lakesha) Johnson, both of Greenville; four sisters, Ida Bea Polland of Greenwood, Sadie Johnson of Chicago, Irene Parish of Greenville and Marie Barnes of Grace; nine brothers, Daniel Johnson, Larry Johnson, Ralph Johnson and Charles Johnson, all of Grace, McArthur Davis and Alonzo Johnson, both of Glen Allan, Arthur Johnson of Delaware, Charlie Johnson of New Orleans and Sam Johnson Jr. of Greenville; three grandchildren, William Johnson, Xavier Johnson and Ebony Fults; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

HOLLANDALE — Funeral services for Maggie L. Thomas, 64, of Hollandale will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Simmons High School Auditorium, Hollandale. She died July 20, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in New Foundation MB Church Cemetery, Hollandale, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Hollandale.

Maggie "Shug" Thomas was born Aug. 28, 1937, to the late Herman and Maggie Thomas. She confessed Christ in 1952, and late moved to Vickland, Miss., where she became a member of Pleasant Valley MB Church. A few years went by, and she moved to Hollandale, Miss., where she became a member of New Foundation MB Church. She was a faithful member until her death.

One son, R.L. Thomas, preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories two daughters, Debra (Willie) Hayes of Chicago and Emma (McKinley) McNeil of Greenville; four sons, Solomon Thomas and Jerry Thomas, both of Chicago, and Andrew (Lisa) Thomas and Michael (Tonya) Thomas, both of Atlanta, Ga.; six sisters, Beatrice Bryant of Milwaukee, Rosie Ford and Pearline (John Henry) Williams, both of Panther Burn, Bertha Mae (A.C.) Gibson of Delta City, Dorothy (O.D.) Addison of Hollandale and Barbara Nell (Bob) Holt of Chicago; eight brothers, Lewis T. Thomas of Panther Burn, Herman (Bernice) Thomas of Greenville, Buck Thomas of Belglade, Fla., Johnnie (Dorothy) Thomas, Frank (Dorothy) Thomas and Ruben Thomas, all of Chicago, and Roosevelt Thomas and Jessie Thomas, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; 17 grandchildren, one of whom she raised, Derrick Thomas; three great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Burial will be in Mt. Tabor MB Church Cemetery, Winterville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Julia Marie "Baby Doll" Hall Townsend was born June 26, 1932, in Stoneville, Miss., to the late Leander Hall and Victoria Hall. In 1957, she confessed a hope in Christ under the leadership of the Rev. Slater at Walnut Grove Church, Swiftwater. Later she moved her membership to Shady Grove North Church under Pastor Willie J. Hall.

She leaves to cherish her memories a very special friend, Clarence Wigfall of Greenville; one daughter, Lavern (Robert) Banks of Greenville; four sons, Edward (Rita) Townsend of Holland, Mich., and Ricky Townsend, Larry Townsend and Cedric Townsend, all of Greenville; four brothers, Leander (Angeline) Hall, John (Mary) Hall and Robert Hall, all of Greenville, and Essix (Ann) Hall of Buffalo, N.Y.; one sister, Victoria Scott of Greenville; a sister-in-law, evangelist Rosie Hall of Greenville; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church member and friends.

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Nancy "Mrs. T" Washington, 86, of Greenville will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at New Hope First Baptist Church, Greenville. She died July 22, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

"Mrs. T" was born Oct. 9, 1915, to the late Harrison and Carrie Brooks. She was a clerk at Brown's Pastry Shop for over 30 years. She was a resident of Autumn Leaves Nursing Home.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Ethel (Herman) Ganison of Greenville; one goddaughter, Irene Walker of Metcalfe; four granddaughters, Trinia Ganison Roberts and Tyira Ganison, both of Dallas, Valerie (Greg) Tidewell of Dunkinville, Texas, and Stephine Ceasar of Jackson, Miss.; two grandsons, Eric (Amy) Ganison of Richardson, Texas, and Herman (Bridgette) Ganison of Greenville; four great-granddaughters, Queenice, Tyrichia, DeAndria and Kiara; four great-grandsons, DeKendrick, Devante, Devron and Herman III; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Blandy Brooks of Greenville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
