EUPORA - Funeral services for Clatie Bland will be conducted at 1 p.m. today from Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Marvin Hill Cemetery in Webster County. Billy Hood will officiate.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bland died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Oktibbeha County Hospital. He was 84.
A Webster County native, he was a retired farmer and former employee of Babcock & Wilcox Manufacturing Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Mantee. He was a Cumberland resident.
He is survived by his daughters, Sylvia Roberson, Sara Childress and Jo Butler, all of Cumberland; sister, Reva B. Ray of Cumberland; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Fannie Clay
Funeral services for Fannie Clay will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday from Bethel M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. E.C. Pittman will officiate.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at Mississippi Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Clay died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at her residence in Starkville. She was 100.
An Oktibbeha County native, she was a housewife and a Baptist.
She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Strong of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Beatrice Sharp of Starkville; nine grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 43 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.

Oletha (Memaw) Forrester
WEST POINT - Funeral services for Oletha (Memaw) Forrester will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Wake Forest Cemetery near Dancy. The Rev. Jimmie Walker will officiate.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Forrester died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at West Point Nursing Home. She was 93.
A Clay County native, she was a homemaker and a member of Pheba Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Marcell Blankenship and Jo Ann White, both of West Point; sons, Billy Wayne Forrester of West Point and Thomas David Forrester and Glen Allen Forrester, both of Pheba; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

James Walter Jones
Funeral services for James Walter Jones will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Friendship Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sturgis Cemetery. The Revs. Halton Davis and Dale Walker will officiate.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Welch Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Oktibbeha County Hospital. He was 82.
An Oktibbeha County native, he was a retired farmer and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. 
He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Gillis and Eunice Malone, both of Sturgis, Mary Peterson of Starkville and Orene Hester of Eupora.

Mary Rackley Bennett
SMYRNA, Ga. -- Mrs. Mary Rackley Bennett, 85 of Smyrna, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday from the Carmichael Funeral Home Chapel in Smyrna with Dr. Steve Kimmel officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery.
She was born in Gilmer County and was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Bennett.
Survivors include her two sons, Ronald C. Bennett of Lithia Springs and David W. Bennett of Powder Springs; two daughters, Jane Keirs of Starkville and Judy B. Garrison of Sandy Springs; one brother, E. C. "Bud" Rackley of Smyrna; one sister, Helen Bennett of Forest Park; 13 grandchildren, Kim Heath and Dan Smith of Starkville, Angie Bennett and Lisa Brown of Memphis, Tenn., Rosemary, Katherine, Helen and Joseph Bennett of Lithia Springs, Robin, Taylor and Mary Bennett of Powder Springs, David McBride and Heather Bennett of New Orleans, La.; 10 great grandchildren, Halee and Hilary Heath, Alec and McKenna Smith, Jordan and Serrett Brown, Brandon, Brittany and Bret McBride and Hilary Bennett; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Frankie Sue Henry Grisham
Frankie Sue Henry Grisham died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Starkville Manor Nursing Home. She was 67.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Welch Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Watkins Ware
STURGIS -- Funeral services for Elizabeth Watkins Ware will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Sturgis Methodist Church. Burial will be in Sturgis Cemetery. The Rev. Lavell Woodrick will officiate.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Nowell Funeral Home in Ackerman.
Mrs. Ware died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Oktibbeha County Hospital. She was 78. She was a homemaker, housewife, and a member of Sturgis Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Ronnie Ware of Sturgis; one daughter, Kathy Wilson of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Ware.
Memorials may be made to Sturgis Methodist Church in Sturgis.

Willie George Jordan
Funeral services for Willie George Jordan will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Josey Creek M. B. Church in Starkville. Burial will be at Josey Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at Mississippi Funeral Home.
Mr. Jordan died Sunday, May 25, 2003, in Parchman. He was 36.

Howard Lanier Sr.
Funeral services for Howard "Who Baby" Lanier, Sr. will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bethel M. B. Church. Burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. Tyrone Stalling will officiate.
Visitation will be held today from 2 to 7 p.m. at West Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Lanier died Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Mrs. T's Personal Care Home. He was 79.

Lena B. Madison
Funeral services for Lena B. Madison will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Second Baptist M. B. Church. Burial will be at Sixteenth Section Cemetery. Dr. J. B. Rodger will officiate.

Mrs. Madison died Sunday, May 25, 2003 at home. She was 76.

Peggy Bishop Phillips
Peggy Bishop Phillips was born September 28, 1942 in Maben to Walter Howard Bishop and Laura Mae Fondren. She entered the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, May 27, 2003, in Shreveport, La.
Survivors include her husband, Randy Phillips; daughters, Tracy Baker, Renee Mangrum, and Karen McClary; step-daughter, Tina Murphy; brother, Frankie Tomlinson and wife Pam; grandchildren, Nicole Baker, Georgia Mangrum, Austin McClary, Megan and Joshua Murphy.
A gathering of family and close friends are invited to the Tomlinson residence on Bethesda Road, Oktibbeha County, in memory of our loved one, Saturday, May 31, 3 to 5 p.m.

Raymond Bill Williams
LOUISVILLE -- Funeral services for Raymond Bill Williams will be held today at 3 p.m. at Bevill Hill Methodist Church in Louisville. Burial will be in Bevill Hill Cemetery. Rev. Phil Gerber will officiate.
Mr. Williams died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Mississippi Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson.
He was 88.

Natha L. Little
Funeral services for Natha L. Little, 93, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the New Prairie Grove M.B. Church.
The Rev. Sam Bonner Sr. will officiate
Family visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, followed by public visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

M. Yvonne Palmateer
PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- Funeral services for M. Yvonne Palmateer will be held Thursday at 10 am. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son here.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Dr. Don Moore will officiate.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Robinson's.
Mrs. Palmateer died Monday, June 2, 2003 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was 76.
Mrs. Palmateer was born July 21, 1926 in Pine Bluff to the late Elbert Marvin and Mae Bailey Wilson.
She was a life-long resident of Pine Bluff and graduated from Pine Bluff High School.
Mrs. Palmateer worked at the Pine Bluff Arsenal in the Personnel Department during World War II.
She married Robert John "Jack" Palmateer on December 10, 1945 in Pine Bluff.
She co-owned and operated Palmateer's Repair Service with her husband for 12 years.
She then went to work for the Jefferson County Road Department where she worked for 16 years as a secretary, retiring in 1991.
Survivors include her husband, Robert John "Jack" Palmateer of Pine Bluff; one daughter, Jackie Rochelle of Starkville; two sisters, Ava Spillyards and Nancy Appling, both of Pine Bluff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Leland Wilson.
The family would like for memorials to be sent to the Arkansas Cancer Institute, 7200 South Hazel Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603.

Washington Roberts, Jr.
Funeral services for Washington Roberts, Jr. will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Austin Church of Christ Holiness, USA.
Burial will be in Sessums Cemetery.
The Rev. Chester Mangrum will officiate.
Visitation will be held today from 1 to 7 p.m. at West Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Roberts died Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at Oktibbeha County Hospital. He was 49.
