Graveside services for Sam R. Head, 54, Springfield, and formerly of Willow Springs, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Willow Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Willow Funeral Home of Willow Springs. 
Mr. Head died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Cox Medical Center North, Springfield. 
Visitation will be noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. 

Eddie Young arrangements incomplete
Funeral arrangements for Eddie Ray Young, 41, Poplar Bluff, and formerly of West Plains, are incomplete and will be announced by Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains. 
Mr. Young died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at his home. 

Ruth Engh dies Thursday
Ruth O. Engh, 91, West Plains, died 1:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at West Vue Home, Inc., West Plains. 
She was born Jan. 14, 1912, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of August and Olga Hiller Mueller. 
On Sept. 5, 1936, she was married at  Chicago to Roy E. Engh. 
She was a homemaker and member of Congregational Church of Des Plaines, Ill. 
The body was cremated under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of West Plains. 
  
Clifford Vigdal dies today
Clifford Carl Vigdal, 79, Willow Springs, died 3:45 a.m. today, Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Willow Care Nursing Home, Willow Springs. 
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. 
The body will lie in state at Carter Funeral Home in West Plains from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday 
Burial will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery, South Beloit. 

Emma Glass arrangements incomplete
Funeral arrangements for Emma Lois “Atha” Glass, 78, Lakewood, Colo., and formerly of West Plains, are incomplete and will be announced by Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains. 
She died 11:03 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at St. John’s Hospices, Lakewood. 

Nettie Chastain dies Monday
Private burial services for Nettie Lou Boles Chastain, 79, Burbank, Okla., and formerly of this area, will be held at a later date at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Ore., under the direction of Trout Funeral Home of Ponca City, Okla. 
Mrs. Chastain died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Burbank. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Ponca City, 1904 North Union, Suite 103, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Mrs. Boak died 9:15 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2003, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains.

Mrs. Phelps died 8:40 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2003, at her home.

J.B. Upton services Friday
Funeral services for Joe Ben “J.B.” Upton, 64, West Plains, will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2003, in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains. 
Mr. Upton died 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at his home.

John “Jack” Stewart services held
Funeral services for John W. “Jack” Stewart, 80, Mammoth Spring, Ark., were 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Clary Chapel in Mammoth Spring, with Brother Jack Richardson officiating. 
Mr. Stewart died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at his home. 
He was a graduate of Ash Flat (Ark.) High School and served with the U.S. Army’s 75th Infantry Division in the European Theatre during World War II, receiving three Bronze Stars and many other awards. He also participated in the Battle of the Bulge while serving his country. 
Burial was in Thayer Cemetery under the direction of Clary Funeral Home of Mammoth Spring.

Funeral services for Ruth Bruns, 91, West Plains, will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2003, at Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home in Pacific. 
Mrs. Bruns died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at West Vue Nursing Home, West Plains.

Mrs. Hite died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Mtn. View. 
Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery under the direction of Yarber Mortuary. 

Bud Pierce Sr. services Sunday
Memorial services for Harry “Bud” Pierce Sr., 82, West Plains, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2003, at Elk Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, CR 9830, off east U.S. 160, 9-1/2-miles from West Plains. 
Mr. Pierce died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at a VA hospital in St. Louis. 

Shirley Hart services held
Funeral services for Shirley Belle Burden Hart, 66, West Plains, were 2 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains, with Evangelist Jeff Howard officiating. 
Mrs. Hart died 11:45 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at her home. 
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association and left at the funeral home. 
Burial will be in Fowler Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Edna Davis services held
Funeral services for Edna Mae Davis, 73, Ava, were 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, in Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Oren Alcorn and Robert Roberts officiating. 
Mrs. Davis died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003.

Burial was in Ava Cemetery under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home. 
 
Harry Pierce Sr. services held
Funeral services for Harry “Bud” Pierce Sr., 82, West Plains, were July 13, 2003, at Elk Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church near West Plains, with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. 
Mr. Pierce died July 10, 2003, at Veterans Administration Hospital, St. Louis. 
He served in the U.S. Army 3rd Division as a medic during World War II. 
St. Louis Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements. 
 
George Coldwell services Tuesday
Funeral services for George J. Coldwell, 77, Mtn. View, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, in Chapel Hill Church, with the Revs. Lawrence Nevils and Paul Ordway officiating under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mtn. View. 
Mr. Coldwell died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, at Cox Walnut Lawn Hospital, Springfield. 
Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Yarber Mortuary. 

Lehman “Lee” Sorrell services Saturday
Funeral services for Lehman E. “Lee” Sorrell, 78, Newton, Kan., and formerly of this area, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Meridian Baptist Church in Newton, with the Rev. Jerroll Martiens and Dr. George Miller officiating under the direction of Petersen Funeral Home.  
He enlisted in the U.S. Army and honorably served in Austria, France and Germany during World War II.  
A memorial has been established with Meridian Baptist Church where Mr. Sorrell was a member for more than 35 years.  
Family visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Petersen Funeral Home. 

Berdena Scarbrough services held
Funeral services for Berdena Lynn Scarbrough, 47, Winona, were 1 p.m. Dec. 16, 2003, at Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona, with President John Seeley officiating. 
Mrs. Scarbrough died Dec. 12, 2003, at her home. 

Paul Stewart dies Monday
Private memorial services for Paul Emanuel Stewart, 76, Theodosia, will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains. 
Mr. Stewart died 9:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at his daughter’s home near Theodosia.

Robert Eugene Harris, Doniphan, died Dec. 14, 2003, at Doniphan. 

Lois Adams services Sunday
Funeral services for Lois Adams, 85, Mammoth Spring, Ark., will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer. 
Mrs. Adams died today, Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains.

Mrs. Newman died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Thayer.

Richard Braswell services Saturday
Graveside services for Richard Delbert Braswell, 62, Alton, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2004, at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Alton, with the Rev. Junior Andrews officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer. 
Mr. Braswell died 12:07 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains. 
Mr. Braswell was a veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam era. He was a clerk typist at the Pentagon from Dec. 6, 1963, through Dec. 3, 1965. 
The body will lie in state at the funeral home until service time. 

Bertha Snethern services held
Funeral services for Bertha Mae Snethern, 56, Springfield, were 1 p.m. today, Thursday, March 18, 2004, at Clark Chapel, James River Assembly, with Dr. Jimmy Root officiating under the direction of Walnut Lawn DeGraffenreid-Wood Funeral Home. 
Mrs. Snethern died Monday, March 15, 2004, at her home.

Mrs. Driskell died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.

James Flood 
services Saturday
Memorial services for James Norman Flood, 31, Black Hawk, S.D., will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at Sturgeon Cemetery, Mammoth Spring, Ark.,  under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Ark. 
Jimmy died Aug. 13, 2004, as a result of an automobile accident near Scenic, S.D. 
Two years after high school, Mr. Flood served two years in the U.S. Army. 
An educational memorial fund has been established for his children.  Donations may be mailed to Wells Fargo Bank, 825 St. Joseph St., Rapid City, SD 57701. 

Richard Thomure I services Tuesday
Funeral services for Richard Emmeitt Thomure I, 46, Summersville, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in Yarber Chapel, Mtn. View, with the Rev. Steve Steelman officiating. 
Mr. Thomure died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at his home. 
He served in the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1977. 
Burial will be in Summersville City Cemetery under the direction of Yarber Mortuary. 

Robert “Gene” Bradford services held
Funeral services for Robert Eugene “Gene” Bradford, 63, Clear Springs, were 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville, with the Revs. Emmett Bradford, Rich Spacek and Homer Stuart officiating. 
Mr. Bradford died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at his home.
