Bruley died May 19 in Circle Pines. He was born May 12, 1921 in Duluth to 
Edward and Ella Hildbrandt Bruley. He was steelworker and served in the 
U.S. Army in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Sharline; and son, Bill Bruley.

Lucille M. Carlstedt
Funeral services for Lucille Marie Carlstedt, 90, Anoka, took place May 22 
at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Michael Paquet officiated.
Carlstedt died May 19 in Coon Rapids. She was born Dec. 26, 1909 in Osseo 
to Edward and Phoebe Bocher Potvin. She was employed at Federal Cartridge 
for 33 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Judith (Gerald) Nordstrom and Betty 
(Lawrence) Violet; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five 
stepchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; eight step-step-grandchildren; 
brother, Francis Potvin; and sisters, Mabel Huar, Marion Spoernor, Phil 
Fischer and Lorraine Mattson.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Blaska and Ellworth 
Carlstedt; daughter, Diane Kirchner; granddaughter, Linda Johnson; and 
brother, Lawrence Potvin.
Pallbearers were Tim Anderson, Bill and Jeff Kirchner,and Mike, Debbie and 
Edward Nordstrom.

Carla Hauck

Hauck died May 17 in Coon Rapids. She was born Aug. 23, 1964 in Omaha, 
Neb., and was an investment manager.
She is survived by her husband, Rick; children, Sarah, Ricky, Katelyn; 
parents, Bernard and Betty Wojcik; sister, Melanie (Scott) Arndt; brother, 
Bernard, Jr. (Paula) Wojcik; father-in-law, Don (Joyce) Hauck; and many

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Dutee; and her

Robert J. Hornsby
Funeral services for Robert J. Hornsby, 89, Anoka, took place May 25 at

Hornsby died May 21 at Twin Rivers Care Center, Anoka. He was born Aug. 
18, 1910 in Kenmare N.D., to John and Cecil T. Eckert Hornsby. He was 
retired from Federal Cartridge after 40 years.
He is survived by his sons, Bob Hornsby and wife Kay, Jim Hornsby; 
daughter, Kate Campbell and husband Chuck; grandchildren, Mary, Barb, Tom, 
Debbie, Tammy, Sue and Sarah; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Jack 
Hornsby; and other relatives and friends.

Rozann Kilian

Kilian died May 20 in Coon Rapids. She was born Aug. 25, 1945 in South 
Milwaukee, Wis., to Frank and Catherine Barber Povlich. She was an 
administrative assistant at Coon Rapids High School.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; daughters, Jeanette (Joseph) 
Klein, Kate (John) Gambino; son, Mike; grandchildren, Beth, Amy, Jenny 
Klein; sister, Elizabeth (Chris) Sullivan; and brothers, Nathan (Debi) and

Funeral services for Effie Josephine Niebergall, 97, Fridley, took place

Niebergall died May 14 at Fridley Convalescent Center. She was born Dec., 
18, 1902 in Swede Prairie Township to Eli and Emma Peterson Olson.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, George and Kenneth 
Berre, Karen Babineau and Thomas Moll; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald 
and Marge Niebergall, Merlin and Delores Niebergall; 15 grandchildren; 22 
great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; daughter, Rosalyn Moll; 
son-in-law, Oliver Babineau; and two grandsons.

Richard J. Schneider

 William H. Barth, Sr.
Funeral services for William Henry Barth, Sr., 93, Lindstrom, took place

Barth died May 9 in Forest Lake. He was born May 22, 1906 in Decorah, 
Iowa, to William and Hattie Van Pelt Barth. He was farmer.

James Hoffarth
Funeral services for James Hoffarth, 59, Isanti, took place May 18 at St.

Hoffarth died May 14 at his home. He was born Dec. 2, 1940 in Long 
Prairie. He was raised in Coon Rapids, graduated from Anoka High School, 
served in the U.S. Navy for four years, and had retired April 30 from 
Northern States Power Co.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons, John and wife Shelley of St. 
Francis, Mitchell and wife Marian serving in the Navy in Sicily, Scott and 
wife Jennie of St. Francis; daughter, Corrie and husband Tom Johnson of 
Isanti; seven grandchildren; mother, Ann Leitch of Blaine; brother, Frank 
and wife Sue Hoffarth of Monticello; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jake.

Stanley Larson, Jr.

Loren E. Collins

Collins died May 7 at his home in Maple Grove. He was born July 17, 1911 
in Minneapolis to Frank H. Collins and Marie A. Green. He was a retired 
warehouse manager.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; sons, Donald Collins and wife Nora of 
Anoka, Mark of Minnetonka; grandchildren, Noreen Collins, Molly and 
husband Brian Wien, Matt Collins; and four nieces.

Mathilda M. Gagnon
Funeral services for Mathilda M. “Tillie” Gagnon, 88, Anoka, took place 
May 8 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Revs. Mike Paquet and Allen 
Bouley officiated.
Gagnon died May 4 in Coon Rapids. She was born Jan. 19, 1912 in Dayton to 
Louis and Georgianne Guimont Bouley. She was a longtime volunteer at Mercy 
Hospital and St. Stephen’s Church.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Leona and Ron Jacobs, 
Dolores and Martin Dolan, and Mary Alice Gagnon; sons and 
daughters-in-law, Gene and Lynne Gagnon and John and Mary Gagnon; 29 
grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lena Bouley and Ora 
Berg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Joseph Gagnon.
Pallbearers were Michelle Dehn, Mark Dolan, Tom Devine, Jr., and Peter, 
Sarah and Guy Gagnon.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by 
Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.

George J. Hoffman
Funeral services for George J. Hoffman, 68, Anoka, took place May 8 at St. 
Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Mike Van Sloun officiated.
Hoffman died suddenly of a heart attack May 2 at Snail Lake Park in 
Shoreview. He was born Nov. 5, 1931 in Rockville to John and Clara Roden 
Hoffman. He was a machinist at E-M Manufacturing.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter, Valerie Hoffman-Lewis and 
husband Lee of Austin, Texas; sons, Aaron and wife Patti, Brian and wife 
Diane, all of Minneapolis; grandson, Tony; brothers, John Jr. and wife 
Martha of St. Cloud, David and wife Agnes of Kimball; cousins and numerous 
nieces and nephews; companion, Jerrilyn Anderson; and family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara; and 
granddaughter, Angela Hoffman. 
Pallbearers were Dennis, Gary, Mark, Tim, Roger and Dale Hoffman.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements 
were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Herbert F. Hymes
Funeral services for Herbert F. Hymes, 57, Andover, took place May 4 at 
Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.
Hymes died May 1 at his home in Andover. He was born March 24, 1943 in 
Philadelphia, Pa., to Herbert W. Hymes and Blanche E. Estebrooks. He was 
an inspector at Medtronic, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; sons, H. Michael, Rick and wife 
Christine, Corey and wife Jennifer; granddaughter, Megan; and sister, 
Carolyn Massey.
Pallbearers were Mike, Rick and Corey Hymes, Roosevelt Gaines, Dick Nelson 
and Ed Thurston.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by 
Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Lela E. Johnson
Funeral services for Lela E. Johnson, 89, Coon Rapids, took place May 6 at 
Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel. Rev. Kenneth Rice officiated.
Johnson died May 3 in Coon Rapids. She was born Oct. 13, 1910 in 
Blaisdell, N.D., to Claude and Amelia Swanson Johnson. She was retired 
teacher.
She is survived by her children, Linda and husband Jerry Tebelius, Lyle 
and wife Mary Johnson; grandchildren, Christine and friend Jimmy, Jodi and 
friend Rob, Kent and friend Sara, Darla and Lowell; great-grandchildren, 
Tommy, Raven and Corbin; sister, Esther McGuire, and many nieces, nephews 
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth.
Pallbearers were Walter Carlson, Brad Johnson, James and Terry Lindemoen, 
David Schultz and Chris Lester.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements 
were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.

Helen Rose Kapella
Funeral services for Helen Rose Kapella, 84, Champlin, took place May 4 at 
Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel. Rev. Bill Deziel officiated.
Kapella died May 1 in Champlin. She was born April 10, 1916 in 
Minneapolis. She worked in retail clothing sales at Dayton’s.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Katherine; three nephews; four 
nieces; and many grand nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Russell, Richard, Brent, Ryan and Michael Anderson, and 
Lyle Talbot.
Interment was at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope. Arrangements were by 
Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.

George L. Mitchell
Funeral services for George L Mitchell, 87, Anoka, took place May 2 at 
Methven-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Paquet officiated.
Mitchell died April 28 at his home. He was born March 29, 1913 in Duluth 
to George Mitchell, Sr., and Florence Cry. He was a generator rewinder.
He is survived by his son, Tim; daughter, Pat Schrader; daughter-in-law, 
JoAnn Mitchell; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, 
Florence; brother, Bob; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; and son, Craig.

Louise Mothershed
Funeral services for Louise Mothershed, 75, Fridley, formerly of St. 
Francis, took place May 10 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. 
James Snow officiated.
Mothershed died May 7 at Lynwood Health Care Center, Fridley. She was born 
Aug. 1, 1924 in Tallahassee, Fla. to Joseph S. Turner and Avie D. 
McDaniel.
She is survived by her children, Sheila (Harry) Fenlason of Belgrade, 
Mont., Dennis Mothershed of Des Moines, Iowa, Melissa McDaniel of 
Andover., Pamela Cumber of Anoka; grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Matthew, 
Chad, Andrea and Schilea; and great-grandsons, Alexander and Brendan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Mothershed.
Interment was at West Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were by 
Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Bradley R. Sroga
Funeral services for Bradley R. Sroga, 22, Blaine, took place April 8 at 
Messiah Lutheran Church. Rev. Bruce Frederickson officiated.
Sroga died in a skiing accident in Utah. He was born Dec. 27, 1977 in 
Fridley to Ron and Carol Sroga. He was a ski instructor.
He is survived by his parents, Ron and Carol; brother, Brian; grandmother, 
Ila Johnson; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ellsworth “Pete” Johnson and 
Ray and Betty Sroga.
Pallbearers were Nathan and Mark Robertson, Shane Kvidera, Robert Johnson, 
and Kevin and Jeff Hedlund.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements

Forrest D. Ward
Funeral services for Forrest Daniel Ward, 83, Brooklyn Park, took place 
May 11 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Brooklyn Park.
Ward died May 7 in Brooklyn Park. He was born April 3, 1917 in Anoka to 
John Edward and Elizabeth Conroy Ward. He worked for many years in the 
family trucking business, Ward Transfer, Inc. He was a World War II 
veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; children, Daniel (Jamie), Kathleen 
Berglund (John), Mary McHugh (James), Ellen Fischbach (Daryl), John 
(Teresa), Maureen Ward, Pegeen Ward, and Eileen Lundgren (John); 18 
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, James, Jane 
Nordeen, Helen Wigdahl, Hannah Loehlein, David, Joan Godfrey and Evelyn 
Graski.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Gertrude; and siblings, 
William, Adrian, Mary Gerlinger, and Elizabeth Richards.
Interment was at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery. Arrangements were by Evans 
Nordby Funeral Homes.

Bennie C. Warn
Funeral services for Bennie C. Warn, 82, Coon Rapids, took place May 6 at 
Coon Rapids United Methodist Church. Rev. H. Grant Tanner officiated.
Warn died May 3 at Park River Estates Care Center, Coon Rapids. He was 
born March 31, 1918 in Granite Falls to Samuel and Cora Pate Warn. He was 
a retired maintenance supervisor at Minneapolis Electric Steel Casting.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol Harmon and husband Howard; and 
sister, Lois Gilson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; and grandson, Sonny Harmon.
Pallbearers were Dick Ahrens, Robert Herman, Randy Klinghagen, Larry and 
LeRoy Neuman, and Verlin Scheer.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by

Evelyn M. Wolfe
Funeral services for Evelyn Muriel Wolfe, 86, Anoka, took place May 6 at 
Trinity Episcopal Church, Anoka. Rev. Barbara Dumke officiated.
Wolfe died May 1 at her daughter’s home in Blaine. She was born May 26, on 
Nicollet Island, Minneapolis, to Cecil W. and Onie B. Dean Temple. She was 
a daycare provider.
She is survived by her children, Gale (Ebby) Wolfe, Barb (Tim) Skillings, 
Bill (LaRoie) Wolfe, Kathy (Tom) Picha; grandchildren, Linda, Jim, Larry, 
Tom, Keeli, Wade, Ryan, Jill, Tammy, Melissa, Tim, Stephanie, Joshua, 
Ryan, Erin, Kyle, and Katie; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Walt Temple; 
sister, Donna Christian; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Jerry and Tom Frazee; 
grandchildren, Walter and Kimberly Frazee; and great-grandson, Chad Piha.
