Funeral services for Janice P. Aistrop, 51, of Champlin, took place July 5 
at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Rev. Bill Deziel O.S.C. officiated.
Aistrop died June 29 at her residence. She was born April 25, 1949 in Pine 
City to Augustine Shatava and Alice (Schmidt). She was a homemaker. She is 
survived by husband, Brian; daughter, Melissa (Leonard) Rumpca; son, 
Travis; grandchildren, Logan and Brice; parents, Augustine and Alice 
Shatava; brothers, Denny, Duane and Glenn Shatava; sister, Julie Pasch. 
Pallbearers were Denny Aistrop, Lenny Rumpca, Bryan Carey, Blaze, Duane 
and Glenn Shatava. Interment was at Champlin Cemetery. Arrangements were

William E. Cameron
Funeral services for William E. Cameron, 62, of Cedar, took place June 29 
at Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel. Rev. Hilton Hammer officiated.
Cameron died June 26 in Fridley. He was born Feb. 1, 1938 in Brooklyn Park 
to Frank and Frances (Sand) Cameron. He was a tool grinder. He is survived 
by wife, Joan; mother, Frances; children, Blaze (Renee), William Jr. 
(Linda), Kristine (David) Ulbrich, Steven (Lisa) Miller, Bonnie Bergstrom 
and Scott Miller; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Clyde, Fred, Richard and 
James; sisters, Rose Mozey, Sue Stofferan and Sylvia Poole; many more 
family, friends and neighbors. He is preceded in death by his father, 
Frank; and granddaughter, Crystal. Arrangements were by Gearhart Coon

Jerry E. McDaniel
Memorial services for Jerry E. McDaniel, 69, of Anoka, took place July 3 
at Faith Lutheran Church. McDaniel died June 29. He is survived by wife, 
Sylvia; sons, Marty (Kelly) and Jim (Robbin); daughters, Cheryl (Mike) 
Reiber and Carla Miller; 7 grandchildren; brother, Jack; sister, Carole; 
many golf buddies and friends. Arrangements were by Twin Cities Cremation.

Dale E. Nordberg
Funeral services for Dale E. Nordberg, 67, of Anoka, formerly of Champlin 
and Nowthen, will take place July 8 at First Baptist Church of Anoka. Rev. 
Abe Cardosa officiated.
Nordberg died June 29 at his residence. He was born May 23, 1933 in 
Minneapolis to Harold and Violet (Fredlund) Nordberg. He was a salesman. 
He is survived by wife, Roselyn “Rose”; daughter, Judy Lynn Nordberg of 
Anoka; sons, Steven (Denise), David (Pamela) all of Big Lake; 
grandchildren, Erin, Emily, Eric, Alyssa, Kallie and Rachel; brother, 
Harold (Marjorie) of Richfield; many other relatives and friends. He is 
preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Violet. Interment was 
private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Duane L. Polansky
Funeral services for Duane L. Polansky, 52, of Spring Lake Park, took 
place July 3 at Church of St. John the Baptist in New Brighton. Rev. 
Michael VanSloun officiated.
Polansky died June 29 in Fridley. He was born April 1, 1948 in Glencoe and 
was a fork lift driver for Coke Botteling. He is survived by wife, Mary; 
children, Matthew and Christina; mother, Ethel (Bud) Wassink; brother, 
Larry Sacevich; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Don and Natalie Schommer; 
sister-in-law, Jane (Tom) Banken; brothers-in-law, Ric (Terri) Schommer 
and Mark (Terrie) Schommer; nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends. 
Pallbearers were Darwin Wagner, Bill Remes, Peter Van Sloun, Ryan Huele, 
Kenneth Richter, and Gordon Brelje.

Joseph J. Trenda
Funeral services for Joseph J. Trenda, 74, of Blaine, took place July 3 at 
Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel. Rev. Curtis J. Holub officiated.
Trenda died June 29 in Coon Rapids. He was born Aug. 14, 192 in Lankin, ND 
to Joseph and Mary (Sticha) Trenda. He was a powder handler and longtime 
employee of Federal Cartridge. He is survived by wife, Grace; sister, 
Ethel Skalicky; many nieces, nephews and friends. Interment was at 
Morningside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Gearhart Coon Rapids 
Funeral Chapel.

Russell Ulferts
Funeral services for Russell Ulferts, 78, of Coon Rapids, took place July 
6 at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. Rev. Kevin Jensen officiated.
Ulferts died June 29 in St. Cloud. He was born Sept. 15, 1921 in Clara 
City to Joseph and Cora (Van Buren) Ulferts. He was a production control 
coordinator at Honeywell. He is survived by wife, Mary; children, James, 
Thomas (Sherry), Gary (Laurel), Jeff (Donna), Mary Jo (Sam) and Ann (Tim); 
10 grandchildren; 6 sisters, 2 brothers. He is preceded in death by his 
son, Rob Ulferts.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Coon 
Rapids Funeral Chapel.

Leo J. Anderson
Funeral services for Leo J. Anderson, 63, of Ramsey, formerly of Blaine, 
took place June 24 at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Blaine. Rev. Harold 
J. Tasto officiated.
Anderson died July 21 in Ramsey. He was born Dec. 31, 1936 in Burlington, 
Iowa, to Lawrence and Rosa. Anderson worked in life insurance and was a 
former member of the Blaine City Council.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Tom (Rhonda), Jeanne, Joe 
(Dawn), and Sharon; mother, Rosa; siblings, Rosemary, Paul, John, 
Catherine, Carol, Margaret, and Jane; mother-in-law, Mercedes Stedman; 
in-laws, Anne, Kay, Steve, Suzy; and many relatives and friends, including 
Dan, Jeff and Michael Stedman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence; and father-in-law, 
Donlan Stedman.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by 
Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Frieda C. Boeshans
Funeral services for Frieda C. Boeshans, 91, of Anoka, took place July 24 
at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Dennis Heiden officiated.
Boeshans died July 20 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Oct. 14, 1908 in 
Stanton, N.D., to John Horning and Fredericka Link. She had worked in the 
kitchen at Maple Manor Nursing Home.
She is survived by her sons, Ernest (Gladys), Ben (Donna), Louie (Betty), 
Art (LaVerne), Hubert (Arlene), Donald (Dorothy), Mark (Liz); daughters, 
Irene Jans-Bergstrom, Rose (George) Grams-Knoph, Frieda (LeRoy) Evgen, 
Marilyn (Gary) Irwin; son-in-law, Art Windmeier; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo; 
44 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; 
sisters, Selma, Florence, Elsie; and brother, Ernie Horning.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J.; infant son, Joseph 
James; son, Herbert; daughter, Hilda Windmeier; granddaughter, Lynn Jans; 
sons-in-law, Rollie Jans, Jerry Bergstrom, Stanley Grams; and 
daughter-in-law, Carrie Boeshans.
Pallbearers were Ernest, Ben, Louie, Art, Hubert, Donald and Mark 
Boeshans.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements

Lawrence Burke Jr.
Funeral services for Lawrence S. “Larry” Burke Jr., 64, of Elk River, took 
place July 27 at Thurston-Lindberg Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Mike Paquet 
officiated.
Burke died July 19 in Hanover. He was born July 16, 1936 in Anoka to 
Lawrence J. and Norma C. (McArdle) Burke. He was a laborer for Fenna 
Homes.
He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte (Mark) Lofgren of Ramsey; sons, 
Dennis Burke of Champlin, Keith Burke of Jacobson; grandchildren, Paul, 
Joe and Cadi Jo Lofgren, Russell Burke; parents, Lawrence and Norma Burke 
of Elk River; sisters, Carol Slater of Anoka, Janet Burke of Coon Rapids, 
Mary Burke of Oregon, Betty (Jerry) Fenna of Champlin; and nieces and 
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Jo Burke; brother, Jim 
Burke; and nephew, Troy Peterson.

Anna Edlund
Funeral services for Anna Edlund, 89, of Princeton, took place July 20 at 
Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Gary Mueller officiated.
Edlund died July 18 at the Elim Home, Princeton. She was born Dec. 21, 
1910 in Mason, Wis., to John Westlund and Christine M. Christoferson. 
She is survived by her sons, Dale and Brody Edlund; daughters, Arlene 
Ledin, Ardithe Wood and Ardelle Nordvik; 17 grandchildren; and 24 
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brody; three 
great-grandchildren; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers were Jerry and Jeff Ledin, Tom Nordvik, Andy Whitcomb, and 
Paul and Brian Edlund.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements

Annie M. Jacob
Funeral services for Annie Marie Jacob, 81, of Coon Rapids, took place 
July 22 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Bill Deziel 
officiated.
Jacob died July 18 in Coon Rapids. She was born Jan. 8, 1919 in Kettle 
River. She was a hypro engineer.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; daughter, Darlene (Bruce); son, 
Jason; sisters, Marcella Jamros, Helen Jamros; brother, Joseph Milczarek; 
and many friends.
Pallbearers were Davis Ross, Richard Loro, Paul Rademacker, Bob Loftus, 
Barry Knox, and Joseph Jamos.

Mary Petyo
Funeral services for Mary Petyo, 98, of Belle Plaine, will take place 
tomorrow (Saturday, July 29) at 1 p.m. at Morningside Memorial Gardens 
Chapel in Coon Rapids. Rev. Tom Wilson will officiate.
Petyo died July 22 in Belle Plaine. She was born Aug. 30, 1901 in 
Czechoslovakia to Michael and Anna (Bassala) Kakuta. 
She is survived by her son, Michael (Dorothy); eight grandchildren; 19 
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; sons, Paul Jr. and Andrew; 
two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Morningside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by 
Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel.

John F. Swanson
Funeral services for John F. Swanson Jr., 87, of Isanti, formerly of Anoka 
and East Bethel, took place July 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. 
Francis. Rev. Jack Baumgarn officiated.
Swanson died July 17 at Cambridge Medical Center. He was born July 22, 
1912 in St. Paul to John Sr. and Mathilda Swanson. He served during World 
War II in the Army and was retired from Skelly Oil.
He is survived by his wife, Leona of Isanti; sons, Jack (Lu) of Isanti, 
Tim (Pat) of Isanti; daughters, Leone (Paul) Rieck of Cincinnati, Ohio, 
Carol (Buddy) Allin of Boulder City, Nev.; brother, Lyder (Martha) of St. 
Paul; sister, Borghild (Burl) Place of Lake Okabojee, Iowa, and Mesa, 
Ariz.; many grandchildren;, numerous great-grandchildren; and many other 
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Mathilda; and 
brother, Gunnard.
Pallbearers were Rob Rieck, Greg, John, Charlie and Travis Swanson, Jerry 
Crone, and Brad Greeninger.

Kenneth E. Ulen
Funeral services for Kenneth Elmer Ulen, 57, of Champlin, took place June 
25 at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel. Rev. John Bucka officiated.
Ulen died July 21 in Champlin. He was born Aug. 28, 1942 in Sacred Heart 
to Elmer and Lillian (O’Toole) Ulen. He was an automobile mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Brian (Lynn) Ulen, Rod 
(Jeri) Ulen, Ann (Lonnie) Tangen, and Avis Ulen; grandchildren, Danielle, 
Autumn, Alyson, Nathan, Cassie and Katie; and brother, Dale Ulen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lillian Ulen.
Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren, Danielle, Autumn, Alyson, 
Nathan, Cassie and Katie.

Evelyn M. Wellberg
Funeral services for Evelyn Marie Wellberg, 87, of Coon Rapids, took place 
July 21 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.
Wellberg died July 19 in Coon Rapids. She was born April 22, 1913 in 
Duluth to Walter and Anna (Law) Plows. She was a retired teacher at L.O. 
Jacob and Mississippi elementary schools and a Sunday School teacher, 
choir member, circle member and Library Committee member at Zion Lutheran 
Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Georgia (Donald) Nygaard; son, Jay 
(Patricia) Wellberg; grandsons, Jeffrey Nygaard and Jim (Helen) Nygaard; 
great-granddaughters, Martheya and Malena Nygaard; sister, Martha Krause; 
step-granddaughter, Sherry (Steve) Ostrander; and nieces, Alyce (Norris) 
Erdal and Barbara Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Henry Wellberg.
Pallbearers were Edwin Melin, Rev. Norris Erdal, John Cox, and Jim, Jeff 
and Don Nygaard.

Mae L. Anderson
Funeral services for Mae L. Anderson, 74, of Andover, took place July 18 
at GraceLife Church in Anoka. Rev. Lee Wilcox officiated.
Anderson died July 15 at Mercy Hospital. She was born May 21, 1926 in 
Isanti to Clifford B. and Elvera (Erickson) Carlson. She was a registered 
nurse at Mercy Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Wally; children, Roxene Linde, Dan, Greg, 
and Bryan; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Gordon, Lloyd, Ken and Dale 
Carlson; and sister, Marlys Gilmore.

Leon Burke
Visitation for Leon “Lee” Burke, 58, of Coon Rapids, took place July 13.
Burke died July 10 in Mason City, Iowa. He was born Feb. 12, 1942 to 
Patrick and Rita Burke.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila; daughter, Chyrl (Dennis) Jones; son, 
Michael; grandchildren, Ashlee Burke-Jones and Ryan Jones; father, 
Patrick; sisters, Alva Guinard, Catherine Fortier; brothers, Ernest and 
Patrick Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita; and brother, Lyndon.

Edna L. Evanov
Funeral services for Edna Lorraine Evanov (Rice), 38, of Lexington, will 
take place this evening (Friday, July 21) at 7 p.m. at Gearhart Coon 
Rapids Funeral Chapel.
Evanov died July 16 in Fridley. She was born Sept. 21, 1961 in Minneapolis 
to Daniel and Eileen (Kile) Rice. She was a cashier at Target.
She is survived by her children, Jacob G. Evanov, Carly J. and Jamie A. 
Engen; mother, Eileen Rice; sisters, Karen E. Rice, Laura I. Standfield, 
and Jennifer J. Geier; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Rice.

Grace H. Goodwater
Funeral services for Grace Helen Goodwater, 69, of Blaine, took place July 
17 at Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Goodwater died July 13 in Blaine. She was born Dec. 31, 1930 in 
Minneapolis to Edwin and Helen (Cook) Fister. She was a retired para 
professional in the Anoka-Hennepin District 11.
She is survived by her husband, Cliff; daughters, Pam, Diane, Heidi, Lynn, 
and Kathleen; son, Rick; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 
brothers, Edward of Sparks, Nev., and David of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and 
neighbors and friends.
Pallbearers were Chad and Gary Johnson, Jim Albright, Rick Goodwater, Dale

Funeral services for Jean R. Klint, 70, of Coon Rapids, took place July 12

Klint died July 9 in Coon Rapids. She was born Jan. 15, 1930 in Benson. 
She was a retail clerk.
She is survived by her sons, Steven (Bonita), Phillip (Betty), Daniel, 
Thomas (Denise), and David; daughter, Kathleen; son-in-law, Charles Rice; 
grandchildren, Joshua, Jesse, Nicole, Curtis II, Cassandra, Angela,

Lyland O. Leegard
Funeral services for Lyland O. “Bud” Leegard, 77, of Blaine, took place 
July 17 at Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel. Rev. Heather Teune 
officiated.
Leegard died July 12 in Coon Rapids. He was born March 25, 1923 in 
Webster, S.D., to Jack and Ada (Parks) Leegard. He worked as a stone 
mason. Leegard served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member 
of Sgt. John Rice VFW, Blaine.
He is survived by his wife, Viola; sons, Craig, Dennis, and Eric; many 
nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Dave Buhr, Ron Frank, Jerry Miller, Norm Olson, Paul 
Star, and Ray Trebus. Honorary pallbearers were Orville Hagen, Harold 
Hollister, and Elmer Weisz.

Arthur M. Lien
Funeral services for Arthur M. Lien, 83, of Coon Rapids, took place July 
19 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Valerie Brown-Greenly

Lien died July 15 in Fridley. He was born Sept. 15, 1916 in Starbuck. Lien 
was a machinist and a member of the Coon Rapids VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Olga; son, Gary Lien; daughter, Jeanette Lien; 
and many friends.
Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements were by 
Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Helen E. Lindgren
Funeral services for Helen E. Lindgren, 79, of Anoka, will take place 
today (Friday, July 21) at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. 
Liane S. Rock will officiate.
Lindgren died July 16 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1920 in 
Minneapolis to Julius A. Wessen and Edith H. Peterson. She was a retired 
clerk typist for the Minneapolis Public Schools.
She is survived by her daughters, Anne Benagh, Judy (Norm) Nelson; 
grandchildren, Terri (Kevin) Johnson, Kelsi Nelson, Jeff (Betsey) Benagh, 
Jason (Maggie) Benagh; great-grandchildren, Jake and Alex Johnson, Andrew 
Benagh; brothers, Ted (Ebby) Wessen, Dale (Lucy) Wessen; and 
sister-in-law, Clara Wessen.
She wa preceded in death by her husband, Victor; and brother, Willard 
Wessen.

Tracy A. Meyer
Funeral services for Tracy A. Meyer (Winterbauer), 35, of Coon Rapids, 
took place July 18 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Gordon

Meyer died July 11 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. She was born 
Oct. 12, 1964 in St. Paul to Frederick H. and Alvie D. (Beniek) 
Winterbauer. She was a truck driver.
She is survived by her son, Zack Posten; parents, Fred and Alvie 
Winterbauer; and brothers, Fred and Patrick Winterbauer.

Funeral services for Michael A. Morris, 26, of Coon Rapids, took place

Morris died July 14 at the Hennepin County Medical Center. He was born 
Sept. 14, 1973 in Coon Rapids. He was a pharmaceutical 
technician/accounting specialist at Chronimed Pharmaceuticals.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea; son, Michael Ricky; parents, Rick and 
Cheryl James; sisters, Julie and Kristine James; grandfather, Adsel 
Robertson; father- and mother-in-law, Rick and Karen Small; 
brothers-in-law, John (Amy) Small, Joel Small; sister-in-law, Abby Small; 
best friend, Jon Foss; and many other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Audrey Robertson and Clara 
E. Johnson.

Funeral services for Sherry L. Olson-Brodala, 46, of Crystal, formerly of 
Anoka, took place July 18 at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Brooklyn Park.
Olson-Brodala died July 14 in Minneapolis. She was born Oct. 30, 1953 in 
Minneapolis to Dale F. and Jeanne C. Olson.

Phillips died July 14 at the Anoka Good Samaritan Center. She was born 
July 4, 1921 in Osage, Iowa, to Gilman and Nora Horgen.

grandchildren, Andy Phillips, Julie Lind, Nikki Phillips, Michelle Miller, 
Wade Miller, David Jongquist; and great-granddaughter, Charlotte

Gordon S. Swanson
Funeral services for Gordon S. Swanson, 70, of Cedar, took place July 13 
at the Carlson-Labatte Funeral Home in Cambridge. Rev. David Franzmeier

Swanson died July 9 at Mercy Hospital. He was born April 8, 1930 in 
Princeton. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and Austria during World 
War II, and retired in 1986 after 31 years with the Southern Pacific 
Railroad. After retirement, he had an interior and exterior remodeling 
company, The Workshop.
He is survived by wife, Janice of Cedar; children, Debbie Ward of 
Cambridge, Kathy Dahlberg of Chaska, Tim (Regina) Schmidt of Cambridge, 
Tammy Bushey of Columbia Heights; 10 grandchildren; two 
great-grandchildren; family members, Evelyn and Carl Friedlander, and Joan 
Moszer; and other family and friends.

Walter W. Ward
Memorial services for Walter William Ward, 79, of Greeley Colo., formerly 
of Coon Rapids, will take place July 29, 11 a.m., at the United Methodist 
Church in Lakefield.
Ward died Jan. 5 in Greeley. He was born Feb. 14, 1920 in Lakefield to 
Monte and Marie (Bartz) Ward. He served in the Army in Europe during World 
War II and worked for Cornelius in Anoka until he retired.
He is survived by his sisters, Ethel Scheppman of Fairmont, and Mabel 
Vacura of Jackson; daughter, Sharonlee Snyder of Loveland, Colo.; sons, 
Terry Ward of Greeley, Colo., and Cody Ward of Princeton; eight 
grandchildren; and great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; parents, Monte and Marie; 
sisters, Edna and Dorothy; brothers, Albert, Lee, Earl and Lyle.

Robert D. Watts
Memorial services for Robert D. “Bob” Watts, 71, of Coon Rapids, took

Watts died July 8 in Coon Rapids. He was born Aug. 14, 1928 in Mason City,

Earl Winkelman

Dick Elvig

Zagar died Jan. 8 in Garrison in an auto accident. He was born Jan. 13,

William Ableman

Carlson died Aug. 18 at Park River Estates Care Center, Coon Rapids. He was
born Dec. 10, 1915 in Kintire Township to Albert and Josephine Carlson and
worked as a salesman at Montgomery Ward until he retired in 1991. He was an
active volunteer at the Coon Rapids American Legion, Park River Estates and
elsewhere.
He is survived by his sons, LeRoy (Lavelle) and Georgetown, Texas, and
Larry (Anna) of Centerville; grandchildren, Tim, Dan, Bridget, Liana and
Lisa; five grandchildren; companion, Arlene Wilson; and many friends.

Minneapolis to Harold and Theresa Bauer. She was a youth counselor.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; daughters and son-in-law, Michelle
Kjelgaard, Marie and Todd Johnson; grandson, Blake; sister, Sue Stycynski;
brothers, Michael and Steve Bauer; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Arrangement were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Raymond Kraus
Funeral services for Raymond Kraus, 86, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 5 at
St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Michael VanSloun officiated.
Kraus died Aug. 31 in New Hope. He was born July 9, 1915 in Minneapolis. He
was a sheet metal business owner and past president of the Sheet Metal Air
Conditioning and Roofing Contractors Association.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; children, Daniel (Kathy), Michael
(Marce), Jane Nissen (Jim), Joanne Powell (Reg) and William (Earla); six
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond.
Pallbearers were John and Matt Nissen, Tony, Alex and Andy Powell, and Jon,
Patrick, Mark and Mike Kraus.
Interment was at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements were
by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Grace O’Neill
Funeral services for Grace E. O’Neill, 82, Blaine, took place Sept. 4 at
Central Presbyterian Church of St. Paul. Rev. Tom Forster-Smith officiated.
O’Neill died Sept. 1 at her home. She was born Aug. 1, 1919 in St. Paul.
She was retired from clerical work with DeLuxe Check.
She is survived by her children, Mary O’Neill, George (Hiroko), Jim, Judy
O’Neill (Jerry); and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis.
Interment was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Blaine Chapel.

Mary Wedgewood
Funeral services for Mary Lou Wedgewood, 68, Ham Lake, took place Sept. 5
at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard A. Reiser
officiated.
Wedgewood died Sept. 1 in Ham Lake. She was born July 23, 1933 in
Minneapolis and was retired from a 27-year teaching career in District 11.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome; children, Courtney and Devon;
sisters, Dorothy Bianchi (Ernie), Florence Misjuk and Margie Gromek
(Chester); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Robert, Timothy, Steven and Michael Bianchi, and Craig and
John Gromek.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by
Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Gary Wirta
Funeral services for Gary Wirta, 45, Blaine, took place Sept. 5 at Coon
Rapids Evangelical Free Church. Rev. David Oldham officiated.
Wirta died Aug. 29 in Lino Lakes. He was born Nov. 7, 1955 in Virginia, and
was employed in computer systems.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie Smith, Rachel Wirta, Sarah Ristow,
Roanne, Arianne, Raina, Krista and Raissa Wirta; grandchildren, Zacharias,
Naomi, Amadeus, Tommy, Kaleb and Alayna; brother, Tony Wirta; sisters,
Crystal Grunewald, Cindy Olson (Bob) and Cathy Borgmann (Don); nieces,
nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.
Interment was in Ely. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel,
Coon Rapids.
