Funeral services for Elmer C. Birney, 60, of Blaine, took place June 15 at 
Long Lake Regional Park Pavilion in New Brighton.
Birney died June 11 in Blaine. He was born March 26, 1940 in Satanta, Kan. 
He was a professor at the University of Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia; children, Amy and Clayton; 
grandchildren, Aaron and Danielle; and sisters, Letty Gay Williams and 
Lorna Ann Rust.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Esther.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, 
Coon Rapids.

Raymond O. Clinton
Funeral services for Raymond O. Clinton, 77, of Coon Rapids, took place 
June 14 at First Congregational Church of Anoka. Rev. Christopher Fazel 
officiated.
Clinton died June 11 in Coon Rapids. He was born Oct. 29, 1922 in Harvey, 
N.D., to William and Alma (Olson) Clinton. He was an auto body shop 
technician.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Gerald; daughter, Jeanne (John) 
Clermont; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and other relatives 
and friends.
Pallbearers were John Clermont, Dominic and Dustin Chromey, James 
McMorran, Raymond Swenson, and Neil Heidelberger.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements 
were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.

William H. Marshall
Funeral services for William H. Marshall, 54, of Cedar, took place June 21 
at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. James Wagner officiated.
Marshall died June 15 at his residence. He was born July 16, 1945 in 
Pelican Rapids to Harry E. and Jane V. (Willms) Marshall. He was a 
warehouse manager at Dalco Company.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, David, Jeff and Mike; daughter, 
Cassie; daughters-in-law, Kim and Delana; grandchildren, Eric, Evan, 
Nicholle, Caitlyn; father, Harry Marshall; sisters, Linda and Barb; 
brothers-in-law, Jerry, Mike, David and Phill; sisters-in-law, JoAnne, 
Cathy and Peggy; mother-in-law, Jeanne; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, 
and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Marshall.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by

Craig A. Reynolds
Funeral services for Craig A. Reynolds, 45, of Brooklyn Park, took place 
June 20 at Church of St. Gerard in Brooklyn Park. Rev. Brad Baldwin 
officiated.
Reynolds died June 13 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was born Nov. 1954 
in Aiken, S.C. He was a senior campaign associate for 16 years with the 
United Way of Minneapolis Area.
He is survived by his wife, Gail; daughters, Megan and Maureen; and 
sister, Kris.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, 
Coon Rapids.

Louise Spier
Funeral services for Louise Spier, 104, of Anoka, took place June 21 at 
Zion Lutheran Church, Crown. Rev. Steven Tischer officiated.
Spier died June 17 at Unity Hospital. She was born Feb. 22, 1896 in Blue 
Lake in Isanti County to Karl and Louise Bartz. 
She is survived by her daughter, Pat (Elmer) Hierlinger of Anoka; 
grandchildren, Diane and Chuck Hierlinger, Sue Hierlinger, Michael and 
Tracy Hierlinger; great-grandchildren, John, Chad, Eric, Sarah, Jenni, 
Charlie, Carl and Cassie; and nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; four brothers; and three 
sisters.
Pallbearers were John Chad and Jenni Hierlinger, Eric and Sarah Henning, 
and Charlie Thompson.
Interment was at Zion Cemetery, Crown. Arrangements were by Strike Funeral 
Home-Isanti Chapel.

John F. Stangret
Funeral services for John Frederick Stangret, 65, of Coon Rapids, took 
place June 20 at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Blaine. Rev. John O’Hara 
officiated.
Stangret died June 17 in Motley. He was born Feb. 1, 1935 in Stanley, 
Wis., to Michael and Elmyra (Quesnell) Stangret. He was a self-employed 
building contractor and served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie; sons, Michael (Jennifer), Kevin 
(Lanaya); daughter, Deborah (Doug) Solem; grandchildren, Katlyn, Doug, 
Jacob, Karah and Brooke; and sisters, Gerry Sime, Betty Trubac, Lorraine 
Espinoza.
Pallbearers were Mike and Kevin Stangret, Doug Solem, Bob Lindmeier, Bill 
Corrigan, and Jerry Call.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements

Alan T. Tovsland
Memorial services for Alan Torbjorn Tovsland, 82, of Gulfport, Miss., 
formerly of Anoka, will take place at a later date. 
Tovsland died June 14 in Gulfport. A native of Norway, he served in the 
Norwegian Merchant Marine, and when he lived in Anoka was a member of the 
Anoka Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his son, Paul M. (Judy) Tovsland of Gulfport; brothers, 
Bjarne Tovsland, Oddvar Tovsland, Halvor Tovsland, all of Norway; 
grandchildren, Paul and Dianne Tovsland of Gulfport, Steven and Erica 
Crosen of Glenwood, Md., Lance Tovsland of Gulfport; and 
great-grandchildren, Timothy Crosen, Kelsey Corrine Crosen.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Tovsland.

Olga Wanner
Funeral services for Olga Wanner, 98, of East Bethel, took place June 19

Wanner died June 15 are her residence. She was born Jan. 2, 1902 in 
Cumberland, Wis.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Gail (Chuck) Gibbons, Deborah (Dave) 
Elert, June (Roger) Brickweg, William Wanner III; great-grandchildren, 
Charles Gibbons Jr., David Gibbons, Genevieve (Bill) Davis, Sarrah 
Gibbons, Joshua Brickweg, Bryan (Jennifer) Brickweg, Danielle Elert;

 Irma E. Allison
Funeral services for Irma Ellen (Skuza) Allison, 81, of Crystal, took 
place July 13 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Bill Deziel 
officiated.
Allison died July 8 at Crystal Care Center. She was born May 12, 1919 to 
George and Isabelle (Scott) Sites.
She is survived by her sons, LaVern L. (Judy) Sites of Twin Valley, Arnold 
J. Skuza and friend Irene of Florida, LeRoy A. Skuza of Anoka; daughters, 
Florene N. (Milan H.H.) Horn of Twin Valley, Fay A.M. (David M.) Getchell 
of Anoka; brother, Lester (Doris) Sites of California; sisters, Gertie 
Martinez of Arizona, Marjorie Stene (Kenneth) Scott of Vadnais Heights; 
stepson, John (Diana) Allison of Corcoran; stepdaughter, Ruth Ann (James) 
Dupont of Coon Rapids; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 
step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Julius Skuza and John D. 
Allison; son, Lance Cpl. Arvid Berdeen Skuza; brother, Leon Sites; and 
stepdaughter, Patricia Reagan and her husband, John Reagan.

Ruth Andberg
Celebration of life services for Ruth Andberg, 84, of Anoka, took place 
July 9 at First Unitarian Society in Minneapolis.
Andberg died July 3. She was born in Massachusetts. She was a psychiatric 
social worker for 25 years and a peace and social justice activist through 
the NAACP, Amnesty International, Southern Poverty Law Center, KlanWatch, 
ACLU and Common Cause. She received the McKnight Award in human service in 
1985 for her work as a volunteer in home hospice for terminally ill 
patients, the Guatemala refugee sanctuary movement, and one-to-one 
counseling and service to people with mental illness.
She is survived by husband, William Andberg; brother, Bryce (Faye) Moulton 
of Rutland, Vt.; children, Paul (Diane) Andberg of Atlanta, Chris (Gary) 
Gorham, Wendy Andberg (Michael Pileggi), Julie Andberg (John Grahn); 
grandchildren, Brent (Heather), Rebecca, Lisa (Guy), Mike (Jill), Brie, 
Brenna, Annika; and five great-grandchildren.

Merlin A. Bakken
Funeral services for Merlin Arthur Bakken, 62, took place July 17 at Our 
Savior’s Lutheran Church, Santiago. Rev. Timothy Zenda officiated.
Bakken died July 7 in Homer, Alaska. He was born Jan. 13, 1938 in Becker 
Township to Arthur and Hazel (Edson) Bakken. He worked for Hoffman 
Engineering in Anoka for 36 years, retiring in 1999, and served seven 
years in the National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Ellie; sons, Bradley of Princeton, Alan of 
Kansas City, Mo., Scott (Cheri) of Casper, Wyo.; mother, Hazel Johnson of 
Spring Lake Park; grandchildren, Rustyn, Kristen, Tiffany, Steve, Jordan, 
and Kody; brothers, Gehard (Mary Ann) Bakken of Clear Lake, Gordon 
(Andrea) Bakken of Coon Rapids; sister, Darlene (Edward) Daleiden of 
Blaine; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Bakken.
Interment was at Our Savior’s Cemetery, Santiago. Arrangements were by

Lorraine Borden
Funeral services for Lorraine Borden, 85, of Coon Rapids, took place July 
8 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Thomas W. Wilson 
officiated.
Borden died July 6 in Coon Rapids. She was born Nov. 1, 1914 in 
Minneapolis. She was a beautician.
She is survived by her children, David (Jan), Mike (Jan), and Gina 
Christian; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard.
Pallbearers were Rick, Tom, Jim, Scott, Todd, Jamie, and Matt Borden, and 
Christopher Christian.
Interment was at Epiphany Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements were by

Eleanor Brancato
Funeral services for Eleanor Brancato, 73, of Coon Rapids, took place July 
6 at Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Brancato died July 3 in Coon Rapids. She was born March 7, 1927 in 
Minneapolis to Harold and Myra (Cowling) Bailey. 
She is survived by her daughter, Pat (Glen) Groess; sons, Thomas, Steven, 
and Tony (Stacee); grandchildren, Tim, Terry, Travis, Parker and Bailey; 
and brother, Horace Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Brancato.
Pallbearers were Steven and Tony Brancato, Terry and Travis Groess, Mark 
Jones, and Gary Ohnstad.

Gerald U. Briggs
Funeral services for Gerald U. Briggs, 71, of Champlin, took place July 12 
at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park. Rev. Brad Baldwin

Briggs died July 8 at North Ridge Care Center. He was born May 4, 1929 in 
Minneapolis to Charles and Elizabeth T. (Goth) Briggs. He was retired from 
the city of Minneapolis.
He is survived by his daughters, Peggy (Scott) Shreeve of Denver, Patty 
(Karlan) Hunt of Brooklyn Park, Mary (David) Meyer of Ramsey, Geraldine 
Briggs of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Alvin (Rose) Briggs of 
Robbinsdale, Robert (Evelyn) Briggs of St. Cloud; sisters, Florence 
(Clarence) Bobendrier of Albertville, Marjorie (Don) Anderson of St. Louis 
Park; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty.”

Ellen H. Connors
Funeral services for Ellen H. Connors, 83, of Menomonie, Wis., formerly of

Connors died July 4 at her home. She was born Jan. 28, 1917 in Minneapolis 
to Samuel and Amanda (Zorbe) Olson.
She is survived by her husband, Giles B. Connors; son, Robert (Alice) 
Connors of Wisconsin; daughter, Colleen (Wilbur) Burquest of Eagle Bend; 
grandchildren, Karen (Gregg) Anderson, Thomas (Joan) Burquest, Timothy 
(Elizabeth) Burquest, Krystal (David) Marso, Teresa Connors, Cheryl 
(Scott) Fischer, Giles R. (Jill) Connors; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Edward D. Eccleston
Funeral services for Edward D. Eccleston, 50, of Ramsey, took place July 
13 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Michael Paquet

Eccleston died July 9 at his home. He was born Oct. 27, 1949 in Port 
Chester, N.Y., to Eric D. and Vivian H. (Mass) Eccleston. He worked for 
the Minnesota Department of Revenue in information management. 
He is survived by his wife, Jane Eccleston; son, Andrew; daughter, 
Rebecca; mother, Vivian; brother, Eric; sister, Miss-E; and extended 
family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eric; and niece, Kate Eccleston.

Richard A. Fosse
Funeral services for Richard Alvin Fosse, 60, took place July 7 at the 
Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home, Princeton. Rev. Doris Weber officiated.
Fosse died July 3 at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale. He was 
born June 5, 1940 in Rothsay to Frederick and Clarice (Kjono) Fosse. He 
was a glazier for 40 years.
He is survived by his son, Robert of Staples; grandchildren, Derek Fosse, 
Brandie Jo Standal, and Shania Fosse; mother, Clarice Fosse of Rothsay; 
brother, Charles (Alice) of Rothsay; sisters, Marilyn LeRoux of Moorhead, 
Diane (Steve) Houge of Fergus Falls; special friend, Joyce Ulmer of Coon

Funeral services for Judith C. Greenhoe, 69, of Coon Rapids, took place

Greenhoe died July 2 in Minneapolis. She was born Dec. 26, 1930 in Grand 
Rapids. 
She is survived by her sister, Jill Koch; brother, Chuck Jennings Jr.; 
children, Tom Greenhoe Jr., Terry (Maud) Greenhoe, Kim Ferris; 
grandchildren, Matthew, Kelly and Andrea; and step-children, Noah, Hanna 
and Sada.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Greenhoe.

Lyle R. Kulenkamp
Graveside services for Lyle R. Kulenkamp, 82, of Zimmerman, took place 
July 8 at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Rev. Dave Kehl officiated.
Kulenkamp died July 6 at Princeton Elim Home. He was born Feb. 22, 1918 in 
Hennepin County to Charles F. and Pearl L. (Smith) Kulenkamp. He was 
retired from Unisys as a tool analyst.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; sons, Leonard of Zimmerman, Charles 
(Robyn) of Oak Grove; daughters, Patricia (Robert) Russell of Dayton, 
Linda (Art) Draut of New Mexico, Denise (Larry) Atkinson of Zimmerman; 10 
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were his grandsons.

Evelyn M. Livengood
Funeral services for Evelyn Mae Livengood, 88, of Anoka, formerly of Coon 
Rapids, took place July 7 at United Presbyterian Church in Newton, Iowa.
Livengood died July 3 in Anoka. She was born Oct. 24, 1911 in Newton, 
Iowa, to William O. and Effie M. (Iske) Hesson.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Bob) Comeau; grandchildren, Brent 
and Adrienne of Blaine; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth F. Livengood; and son, 
Brian.
Interment was at Newton Union Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Coon

Donald H. Schlag
Funeral services for Donald Henry Schlag, 68, of Spencer Brook Township, 
formerly of Anoka County, took place July 12 at Williams-Hanson-Kaun 
Funeral Chapel, Princeton. Rev. Michael Wittkamper officiated.
Schlag died July 9 at his residence. He was born in Royalton to Henry and 
Annie (Larson) Schlag. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a spot 
welder at Flower City.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia; sons, Richard (Brenda) of Spring Lake 
Park, Raymond (Rebecca) of Oak Grove, Robert and friend Nettie Aaberg of 
Ham Lake, Roger and fiancee Donna Hayes of Princeton; grandchildren, 
Jeremy, Melissa, Jessie, Jerry, Jamie, Jackie, Angela, John, Tommy, and 
Michael; sister, Ethel (Reuben) Thompson of St. Paul; and many other 
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence; and parents, Henry and 
Annie.

Amos W. Abbott
Funeral services for Amos Wilson Abbott, 86, of Fridley, took place May 26

Abbott died May 26 in St. Anthony. He was born Oct. 19, 1913 in 
Minneapolis to Wilson and Marie (Selinsky) Abbott. He was a meter reader 
with Minnegasco.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughters, Marie (Pat) Porter, 
Marcia (Chuck) Gedney, Michelle (Neal) Himmerich; grandsons, Todd, Shawn, 
Justin; great-grandsons, Joshua, Justin; sister, Marie Slaton; and 
numerous friends and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeremy.

Henry R. Gades
Funeral services for Henry R. Gades, 72, of Blaine, took place June 3 at 
Peace Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Kenneth DeFor officiated.
Gades died May 31 in Blaine. He was born July 9, 1927 in Fairfield 
Township. He worked in maintenance for the state highway department.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Patricia Bruggerman, Valerie 
McConnell (Dan), Teresa Marjama (Mike); grandchildren, Daniel, Michele, 
Wade, Alisha, Jamie, Scott, Beth and Joe; brother, Melvin Gades; sister, 
Fern Ehrenberg; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Freida Gades; brothers, 
Reuben, Elmer, Davern, Norvil; two brothers in infancy; and granddaughter, 
Crystal McConnell.

Roger A. Heberle
Funeral services for Roger A. Heberle, 36, of Bethel, took place June 2 at 
Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. James E. Holl officiated.
Heberle died May 28 at his residence. He was born Oct. 6, 1963 in Los 
Angeles, Calif., to Alois “Butch” and Mary (Baier) Heberle. He was an 
assembler at Bermo Company.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Miranda, Tamara, Josh, Adam 
and Megan; parents, Butch and Mary Heberle; one sister; two brothers; and 
other relatives and many friends.

Clara G. Jacobson
Memorial services for Clara G. Jacobson, 85, of Cedar, took place June 7

Jacobson died June 3 at Birchwood Health Care Center in Forest Lake. She

Robert L. Melberg
Memorial services for Robert Louis Melberg, 66, of Scottsdale, Ariz., will 
take place June 10, 3 p.m., at 10411 French Lake Road, in Champlin.
Melberg died May 14 in Scottsdale. He was born June 10, 1933 in Minnesota. 
He graduated from Anoka High School in 1951, served as a sergeant in the 
U.S. Army, and worked at insurance services offices in Minnesota and New 
York.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; children, Linda, Diane (Jerry), 
Patricia (Dan), Bob (Sharri); grandchildren, Jason, Jamie, Jillian, 
Benjamin, Jacob, Timothy, Katie, Emma, Bobby and Maegan; sister, Phyllis 
(Allen), Muriell (Tom), Marlys (Charlie); brothers, Jack (Louise) and Dan;

George E. Moe
Funeral services for George E. Moe, 65, of Anoka, formerly of St. Francis,

Moe died June 3 at his residence. He was born Aug. 19, 1934 in Echo to 
Kenneth H. and Wilma (Engel) Moe. He was a general superintendent of 
highway construction for Park Construction.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Timothy (Debra) of St. 
Francis, Todd of Norwood, N.Y., Lisa (Mike) Nurnberger of Oak Grove; 
grandchildren, Katherine and Kylie Moe, Emily Nurnberger; father, Kenneth 
of Clara City; brother, Leon (Marlene) of Granite Falls; sister, Betty 
(Gene) Kissner of Corcoran; nieces, nephews, close relatives; and many 
friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma E. Moe.
Interment was at West Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were by 
Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Karen Olson
Funeral services for Karen Olson, 66, of Coon Rapids, took place June 3 at 
Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Norman Berg officiated.
Olson died May 30 in Coon Rapids. She was born Nov. 24, 1933 in Rochester.
She is survived by her husband, William; daughters, Carrie Olson, Nancy 
Olson; sons, Chip (Kim) Olson, Edward (Kerry) Olson; and grandchildren, 
Trista, Brooke, Kayla, Hunter, and Nokimi.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

Rick Pitts
Funeral services for Rick Pitts, 42, of Coon Rapids, will take place June 
10 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Pitts died May 31 in New Brighton. He was born May 3, 1958 in Redwood 
Falls. He was a mechanic.
He is survived by his fiancee, Sandy Ferrian and her son, Mike; children, 
Jamie (Jake) Lemon, Eric Pitts; grandchildren, Taylor and Justice; and 
many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Smokey and Beth.
Interment will be at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids.

Jean I. Poole
Funeral services for Jean Irene Kelly Poole, 67, of Ramsey, took place 
June 5 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard A. Reiser 
officiated.
Poole died May 28 in Coon Rapids. She was born June 13, 1932 in 
Minneapolis. She worked in retail/sales.
She is survived by her daughter, Carleen (John) Larsen of Granville, N.D.; 
sons, Mark (Teresa) Kelly of East Bethel, John (Sue) Kelly of Virginia; 
Mary (Rob) Heilman of Ramsey; 11 grandchildren; and brothers, Ed Boike and 
Paul (Roxanne) Boike.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orville “Bud” Poole; and 
parents, Emil and Irene Boike.
Pallbearers were John and Doug Larsen, Rob Heilman, Dan Kelly, Doug and 
Mike Boike.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by 
Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Lucille E. Potter
Funeral services for Lucille E. Potter, 89, of Anoka, took place June 7 at 
Anoka United Methodist Church. Rev. Kenneth Rice officiated.
Potter died June 4 at Twin Rivers Care Center. She was born Oct. 28, 1910 
in Groton, S.D., to William and Arenia (Nichol) Grouell. She was a retired 
elementary school teacher.
She is survived by her husband, Ward; son, Robert (Marilyn) Potter of 
Ramsey; daughter, Marilyn (Michael) Eck of California; five grandchildren; 
six great-grandchildren; and sister, Lois Roberts of California.
Pallbearers were Robert W., Dennis and Gary Potter, Mark Burley, Scott 
Billehus, Thomas Wilcox, and Robert Youngquist.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by 
Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Lila A. Ronningen
Funeral services for Lila A. Ronningen, 91, of Anoka, took place June 5 at 
Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.
Ronningen died June 1 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Nov. 11, 1908 in 
Rothsay to John M. Nelson and Emma Engebretson. 
She is survived by her son, Lyle Lerbakken and wife Rose of Blaine; 
daughter, Orphie Pekula and husband Bill of Champlin; 18 grandchildren; 25 
great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Calmer Lerbakken and Oscar 
Ronningen; daughters, Lorraine, Arlene and Jane; three grandchildren; 
sisters, Clara Ronningen, Ella Kallem, Rose Larson, Julia Kastet, Eunice 
Halbakken; and brothers, Edwin Shefstad and Lloyd Nelson.
Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren Jeff Pekula, Brian and Greg 
Lerbakken, Mark Haugstad, and Jerry and Mike Anderson.
Interment was at South Immanuel Cemetery, Rothsay, following graveside 
services June 6. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 
Anoka.

Lois Ann Schwab
Funeral services for Lois Ann Schwab, 56, of Elk River, formerly of Anoka, 
took place June 3 at Dares Funeral Home, Elk River. Rev. Donna Rohrer 
officiated.
Schwab died June 1 at Mercy Hospital. She was born July 30, 1944 in 
Minneapolis to Roy Sundberg and Margaret Miller.
She is survived by her husband, Lorin Schwab of Elk River; sisters, Sandra 
(Phil) Kerssen of Ramsey, Debbie Sundberg of Ham Lake, Melody Sundberg of 
Minneapolis; brothers, Darryl (Marge) Sundberg of Plymouth, Gary (Debbie) 
Sundberg of Ramsey, Jay Sundberg of Minneapolis; stepson, Michael Schwab 
of Rochester; stepdaughter, Cindy (Butch) Audtry of Blaine; and grandson, 
Sammy.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Clayton Eckhart, Lanny, Ruthie, 
Roy, and Craig.
Interment was at Lake Orono Cemetery in Elk River. Arrangements were by 
Dares Funeral Home.

Elizabeth I. Swetland
Funeral services for Elizabeth I. Swetland, 84, of East Bethel, took place 
June 7 at Church of St. Patrick of Cedar Creek in Oak Grove. Rev. Michael 
Kennedy officiated.
Swetland died June 3 at her residence. She was born March 13, 1916 in 
Degraff to Joseph E. Ferry and Sena A. Vold. She was a retired cashier. 
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; children, David, Patty Ann, Mary, 
Joseph (Kathie) Swetland; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 
sister, Cecelia Otte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph E. and Sena A. Ferry; 
sister, Rose Baker; daughter-in-law, Patricia Swetland; and 
brothers-in-law, Leo Baker and Irwin Otte.
Pallbearers were Maurice (Tex) Sandford, Christopher, Paul, Jason and 
Jarrod Swetland, and Leo and Michael Rubi.
Interment was at Church of St. Mary’s Cemetery in Willmar. Arrangements 
were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Clarence E. Witt
Funeral services for Clarence E. Witt, 72, of Oak Grove, took place June 6 
at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Ramsey. Rev. Suzanne Ferkey officiated.
Witt died June 2 at his residence. He was born Jan. 6, 1928 in Blaine to 
Charles Witt and Clara Nelson. He was a retired truck driver for Ward 
Transfer and Yellow Freight.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; son, Danny (Deb); daughter, Barb 
(Dan) Donohue; grandchildren, Shellie (Scott) Wilson, Joshua and Jamie 
Curtis, Marty and Matt Witt, Joe Donohue; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle 
and Kallian Wilson; sisters, Mable Morrow, Hazel Morrow and Lucille Sward; 
and brother, Bobby Witt.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Patricia; infant son, 
Douglas; granddaughter, Jana Curtis; two sisters; and three brothers.
Pallbearers were Douglas and Jim Rudolph, Bruce and Daren Rahn, Denny 
Sanborn, and Willis Tainter.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery, Nowthen. Arrangements were by 
Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
